My vrs used to do it. Turned out to be front anti roll bar bushes.

Unfortunately Skoda didn't dound proof the Octavia very well. When I owned one I put on Yokohama es32 which made a huge difference. I also insulated the boot area and that helped. I now drive a 3 series which seems to be much better sound proofed.

Front pads are a doddle. Just split the calipers. Rear ones alot harder as you need a 13mm spline tool.

Just over 48k here on 2013 vrs. Still thinking about changing although my mates say I'd be mad to change.

It's not the cost of the adblue tjat puts me off it's just another thing to go wrong.

So if i went for a 2017 or 2018 oil burner there will be no adblue?

Does anyone know when Skoda introduced adblue on the 2.0tdi engine? I woukd like to upgrade my 63 plate vrs to a newer one but dont fancy one with adblue as I just feel its more to go wrong.

Iam thinking of changing my 2013 vrs tdi estate which has only 48k on the clock. I have looked a diesels bit I believe the newer ones have adblue🤢 and I just think it's an extra cost and more to go wrong. So I would like to hear from 245 owners about any reliability issues and also what mpg should i acheive. Also should I go for manual or dsg( I have heard some horror stories with dsg). I can pick up a pre registered 245 estate for 22k which i think is a decent price.

Custom remap is your answer.

Whatever you do make sure its manual.

I would top it up and stop panicking. Sounds like there is some air left in the system. I had to top up my coolant after water pump change. Been fine since.

You will need the largest ones. I changed all 4 of mine recently and Iam pretty sure the front were 340mm

The creaking noise is your front anti roll bar bushes. Any knocks are probably your drop links.

I have the annoying crunch noise going over speed bumps and I am pretty sure its the front anti roll bar bushes. Just contacted skoda to price them and they told me that they cannot be sold seperate and I have to buy the whole stabilizer bar which is 120 notes. Just wondering has anyone on here changed them and if so was it an easy enough job? I can source poly bushes for 30 quid online.

I take it you have a piggyback fuse?

Pretty sure I wired mine to fuse 47 which is rear wiper. No issues whatsoever.

Has anyone removed the arch covers in the boot on the estate model. I have some soundproofing to install🤪

I have ordered some soundproofing so will start off with the boot and rear wheel arches.

How hard was it to remove the side panels? Also where dod you source the soundproofing?

Fit michelin primacy 4 tyres and youl notice alot less road noise.
