  1. yes, I have only ever done it to replicate the problem (for my partner to experience, which he did). I looked around a large carpark yesterday and there were lots of turned wheels, so it's not as if it's a particularly peculiar thing to do?
  2. I'm most surprised that there are not more people experiencing this. How could my steering system be any different to others built around same time?
  3. Latest is that a 'fix' is still in the R&D phase.
  4. Update. Same problem has happened twice since. Skoda say they have some kind of fix and will let me know when it's available. That was a few weeks ago now.
  5. Sorry to bring up an old thread. Vicky can you let me know what the outcome of your steering problem was? Thanks
  6. No, I'm not happy at all, I have a 400 mile journey to make tomorrow and I'm full of trepidation. I don't suppose there's much else I can do now, just wait until it happens again and video it happening.
  7. Update. No fault found. Car being returned this afternoon. Back to square one.
  8. Update. They still can't replicate fault but are taking it seriously in conjunction with Skoda UK. No idea when I'll get the car back but they don't want to give it back having not found the fault.
  9. wow, thanks for that. Skoda UK are now involved. Technician who took car home could not replicate the fault. I will now await further advice from Skoda UK. Thanks for all your input. They are doing all they can, so I can't complain about that.
  10. Thanks, yes I read that, sounds very similar. The service manager says he has read this forum and has checked for software updates etc but nothing applicable. A technician has taken my car home tonight to use for travelling to work in the hope that he can replicate the fault. I asked him to park with the steering at full lock and then lock the steering wheel, I think this may have something to do with it. Will report back when I hear from them tomorrow.
  11. I called to speak to the service manager, as fear, no fault was found. I explained what I'd read on these forums and that it corrects itself when engine switches off. Also mentioned the software update, he said they'd checked for updates. He said he will speak to the senior technician. I fear I am just going to get the car back and be none the wiser. If I had been driving at speed, I know the car would have been in an accident.
  12. At least I have a hire car from Skoda Assist at the moment, which they automatically let me have until tomorrow as it's bank holiday. I would imagine my car has just been sat forlornly at the dealer since Saturday morning, hopefully someone will look at it tomorrow. Will keep you updated as to what they say.
  13. That's the fear, a fault they can't diagnose so just waiting for it to happen it again in perhaps a far more dangerous situation. :(
