  1. I got the same letter saying we can now sort the emissions problem however i get mine serviced at a local none frachised garage, and after reading about the problems that have been incurred with VW etc I shall not be taking my 1.6 to a Skoda dealer for rectification or services, it is not a legal requirement to have this done, also the car has passed 2 MOT's with no problem.
  2. As before I would be the only person ever Skoda have had that problem with and again considering passing 2 MOT's I won't bother
  3. Thank you I have read online it is not legal requirement and so many stories of VWs having huge problems after the fix I don't think I will bother bearing in mind it has passed 2 MOTs with no emission problems
  4. Today (12/06/2017) I have received the letter from Skoda and DVLA regarding the updates on the emissions EA 189 NOx problems It states on the letter "you will be reassured to hear that indipendant testing authorities have confirmed that there will be negative impact on engine performance, maximium torque, fuel consumption, noise and CO2 emissions as a result of having this update applied" I have heard this is not always the case Is this a legal requirement that it has to be done?
  5. Very pleased to say now the weather has got warmer the wiper works fully functionally
  6. Yes agree to above it is a longer polo. I can't compare to an Octavia as I have never been in one. I would not class this as a small car really as I find loads of room in it. Cheaper for me on insurance and running costs compared to an Octavia. Only problems I have come across were the water in rear doors (sorted by dealer in warranty period) And still waiting to hear what is supposed to be happening with the emissions thing. 1.6 diesel 13 plate
  7. Mine does the same a 13 reg 1.6 SE hatchback (not the space back) never known the proper name for this original model. Hnestly don't know as I would trust this as a battery saver as the car gives the warning lights on whining warning when I open the door.
  8. The rear wiper on my 13 reg 1.6 SE stops in random areas of the back windscreen when used by this I mean rather than returning to the original set sweep position it stops randomly and annoyingly and very annoyingly any where it likes. Any one else had this problem? May it simply be I need a new blade on it or is it something that is going to cost loads to get sorted? Car is out of warranty
  9. I found this too on my 13 reg rapid it does come off with a tough pull
  10. I do remember reading in hand book this can happen (mine does it while washing it) and the condensation will dissapear after time which it does on my 13 plate 1,6 TDI SE
  11. Would a Polo cover fit? My partner has a Polo and they look exact same to me
  12. yes them, I think they are purely decorative and to cover the A frame. I was going to try some of these sticky pads you use to hold number plates on when not screwed in place. When I get any that is. The Blutak is working for now
  13. I do not know the name of this part but yesterday after washing and waxing my rapid I was doing the windscreen and at the bottom where the wipers sit (black slotted air intake grille, there are 2 end covers. They have always been a bit of a sloppy fit. Enough to say the one on the driver side came off, there is a clip that hods it in place however the double sided sticky tape that holds it in place is well and truly knackered. I intend to get one of those sticky pads used to hold number plates on however in the mean time I have blu taked it into place hoping it doesnt drop off as I drive any one else noticed this or had it happen on their rapid?
  14. 13 reg car brand new now has 9500 on clock. it actually worked out cheaper for me to get this diesel from Motor point than getting a new petrol form Skoda. It is now just out of the 3 year warranty hence my concern about the regen not occurring as normal. however it seems to be sorted now Thanks
  15. Took the car for a 10 mile run along M61 as I got back the light came on so another trip cleared it, The light comes on about every 1400 miles but this time it seemed a long time coming. According to the hand book I am doing the correct thing.
  16. It has come on a few times in the past and when I take the car for a run it clears from the advice in the hand book that is the correct thing to do
  17. I don't mean the engine management light or any other light other than the particle filter light.
  18. I mean the initial warning light where you see the filter and get the warning on display. I have had this several times and taken the car for a run then and it goes off, it recently passed an MOT so I guess there were no issues bit this time it seems to be taking forever to give me the go for a run symbol on the dash. I don't want to take the car for a run only to ind when I get back he light comes on. As far as I know the light comes on to tell you to go for a run as the filter is 45% with soot. There is no issue bit the engine note has changed and it is using more fuel than it usually does.
  19. Can some one please explain to me roughly how long the warning light takes to come on while the car is doing it's usual thing (engine tone and exhaust tone change and using more fuel) my 13plate 1.6 hatchback seems to be doing all the usual things before the light comes on dash. If I take the car for a run will it do the regen anyway or does it only occur when the light comes on? I have never really understood this, do I wait for the warning light? Can I take the car for a short burn and it will clear the exhaust filter anyway? How will I know it has been done? Other than waiting for the warning symbol to show
  20. This doesnt happen on mine a 2013 SE 1.6 TDI. Only lights I get are the fogs on the dashboard symbols. My Partner has just got a 2010 Polo but what your explaining happens on the Polo
  21. Mine is a 13 plate CR 1.6 SE and yes it displays front and rear fog light symbols on the dash, perhaps a visit or a call to your nearest Skoda dealer is in order.the display lights up on the rev display dial front is a green light display rear is yellow/orange colour display, What I find strange is you cannot use rear fogs lights without the front fogs being on ie first switch pull out is front fogs second for rear hence front having to be on, This is the first car I have had with front fogs though.
