  1. Definitely it is. But it's even more when you can't use it ..
  2. But, I assume you(andy) could use the car meanwhile.... What about you Neily?
  3. I got my car back 2 days ago, the controller I mentioned in the previous posts has been replaced. The car is fine now, hopefully it will not brake again in the nearest future so that I have to tow it . PS: It took 10 days to get it back. A bit too much I'd say. Skoda needs to speed up things when it comes about spare parts for O3.
  4. @pgclosie only I saw you added the manual part....yes I read all those. Looking at the recording from the first post, it tries to unblock but does not succeed, then asks to move the steering wheel, but still nothing happens, except the mechanical blocking of the steering wheel. There was obviously a failure when it tried to unblock the steering wheel. Also, there is a discrete noise when the steering wheel gets blocked/unblocked (in the electric way), this time, when it was trying to unblock the sound was slightly different .. Keep my fingers crossed, that it will be solved quickly... @aki78...yes that's kind of funny, it's enough just to touch it (no matter with) and it will close.
  5. Yes, it's kind of a nightmare. Luckily it suddenly happened in Bucharest and not in the middle of nowhere ... Well, as I have mentioned, accordingly to the dealer, the problem is a component called " Steering Wheel blocking controller", at least this is what they decided, together with Skoda. (although there was no error spotted for it in VCDS) So, once they get the component, will replace the old one and get my car back....The bad news is that such a component is not something that will be available in 1,2 days, but at least 1 week..so an exchange car will be provided(at least this is what they informed me).
  6. Yes, forgot to mention. It's a Kessy system which turned out to be Messy
  7. Hi there... This Sunday, my O3 didn't start anymore. For some reason the steering wheel, couldn't be unblocked anymore. The car was immediately towed to the dealer and Monday morning, the problem was still there(lucky me, as I was thinking that it will repair overnight). They started to diagnose it, and guess what.. no errors .. They have stored the data of this diagnose, closed/open the car using the remote key for several times, and suddenly the steering wheel was unblocked. They did another diagnose and compared the data which was different but again no errors. All this data has been sent to Skoda , and this morning they told me will have to replace something called " Steering Wheel blocking computer". They don't really know when this component will be available, and it may take 1 week or more so an exchange car will be supplied today or tomorrow. Did any of you get into such messy thing, so far?
  8. Will give it a try, but "before" is like any stock O3 Hatch (non VRS) .In my pictures there are 3 plastics, mounted as an add on , on top of the stock one
  9. Just mounted an Add-on from Milotec, for a price of ~115 EUR(shipping to Romania included)
  10. I also have this option plus another one which I am not sure what it is about " automated supplimentary heating". For sure I did not order such a thing.
  11. These were mine after raining for few days and temperature below 4 celcius. Same happens if washing the car but never happened before winter. There were 10 cars washed same time as mine and none of them had condensation..which means something is wrong with these headlights as the physics apply no matter what car
  12. Exactly this was my case, donelegance. But this manual adjusting was done using a special equipment not aligning them on the wall.
  13. Happened to mine also, and the strange thing is that it doesn't happen to all cars. The dealer said, when I get into this, to go directly so that they can see it and will change the headlights???. Sounds too positive to be true, and I may agree to have little condensation because of different causes, but when half of the headlight has condensation this looks like a problem. Not all the cars get into this, so for sure is not something normal.(is not the same as the car's windows , it happens to everyone to have condensation)
  14. My headlights were not correctly set since I got the car. Driving over night I have disturbed all the the other cars, and immediately went to the local dealer. They have manually adjusted the headlights using a special equipment for such operations, and since then I didn't get any flashes from the cars coming from the opposite direction. Still I am not sure they are properly set, as my impression is that the light is way to up ..but don't know for sure. Will have to compare with a different O3 and see how it looks like. Anyhow, this is really annoying to get a car with the headlights not properly set up.
  15. I had mine black pack ordered just right after the car arrived. I decided to let Skoda do everything for me, so that if something happen they will be responsible. The mirrors are easy to fit, but the grille is a bit of a problem as you might brake the original one. How much would it cost in UK just to fit the black pack on the machine? In Romania it was very cheap, 50 pounds or so.
  16. This is mine. 2.0 TDI DSG, Stock Sport Suspension, 17" Denom Wheels, Black Pack.
  17. In Romania when it comes about parking sensors you have 3 choices: a. back sensors - cheapest is like 300 EUR b. front + back sensors - around 500 EUR c. Park Assistant(front + back + side sensors and it will control the steeringwheel) - around 800 EUR As I can see, SUK is not friendly at all pretending Park Assistant for the front sensors.
  18. If you can afford buying this optional, then go for it. You will not be sorry. It's amazing, and is not just for those who cannot park , but will make your life easier. I've used for 5 times in less than 1 week and never failed. It parked the car in one place where I for sure couldn't park because I am not yet used with the car size.
  19. I do not have lane assist, and the camera that I have on my O3 with Intelligent Light Assist(High Beam Assistant in UK) is different than the one for lane assist. I am not sure if the lane assist camera can handle also the High Beam Assistant. In theory it should, but with Skoda you never know Intelligent Light Assist is impressive, it works really nice, I tested it last evening for a 2 hours drive on the high way. It might be a problem when the car in front of you has really poor back lights(which is something really common in Romania )
  20. The dealer just told me that my O3 arrived in Romania. I will be able to pick it up in 7 days after the full payment. Originally it was estimated for 18-22 november, but I was kind of lucky to get it sooner, so I can say no build delays for me.
  21. Great choice...just a bit more of glass, and looks like a hard top convertible . Sorry if you mentioned it before, but how long did you wait for it?
  22. I have ordered mine in Romania, on 26th of August, 2.0 TDI, Elegance, hatch, with few options(but no ACC, no Teron wheels as I was warned these will delay the order), and it is confirmed (but i'd rather say estimated) for delivery between 18-22 November.
  23. ACC is the best thing if you drive on foggy weather for example. Setting it properly , will see the car in front of you, before the driver/passenger(s). On one hand we complain that Skoda does not provide same technology and gadgets as VW and on the other hand we start complaining when we can actually order such things. This logic is weird enough for me to try and understand it As for the planes, is wrong to generalize things. Just think about the Asiana crash at San Francisco , few months ago. The pilots didn;t use the autopilot as the ILS was down at that moment and it ended up pretty bad, although it could have been worse , considering the plane flipped over.
