  1. Some of you may remember me from c.12 years ago but I can say after a few cars and a couple of moneypit builds, I am back (great to see the website going from strength to strength btw). I have recently bought a superb 190 dsg sportline hatch and fancy a subtle front lip spoiler (ok I may be older but no wiser!). Does anyone have an after market one fitted with some pics they could post. I am aware maxton designs do them but their website images aren't the best so would be great to see some real world pics especially as there are multiple designs available. P.s I've attached a pic of the fabia from c.10 years ago if you want a giggle. All the best Gethyn
  2. Any ideas on how easy it would be to swap the grey MY17 a.c. surround for the new piano black one? Would tie the piano black theme nicely I think.
  3. Exhaust is still working fine but looks worse for wear. I'm scared if it goes to for a replacement exhaust, it may sound a little over the top!!
  4. Just trying to jog my memory on what I've used so far...... First weekend of work: Autoglym shampoo wash Squidgee dry down Fast Glass Windows Autoglym Pollish Zymol Wax (All by hand) 2nd Weekend: Autoglym shampoo wash Squidgee dry down Fast Glass Windows Autoglym Pollish twice (by hand) Turtlewax Pollish (with machine) Mur Wax (by machine on wet car - got soaked and covered in cr*p!) Wonder Wheels for the alloys.
  5. How much for the elise - details please....and any trickery under the bonnet?? I'm after a series2 111R (celica engine) but this could fill the gap for now!
  6. Could this be moved to the project car threads??
  7. With my Fabia now sold I found myself looking for something to keep me busy whilst I save for my teenage dream a Lotus Elise. Since 1990, my family has owned a Corolla GTi which has spent 7 of its 18 years sat on the drive looking sorry for itself and only being used in between other cars as they came and went. As I was looking for something to use in the meantime, I got the Corolla jump started and off for an MOT. It has covered 96,000 since 1990 and amazingly only needed one new shock and a new battery for the MOT. As there are only a few of these left on the road and as it has some sentimental value, I thought I'd try to get some respectablility back into the car. Following this, I set to work on trying to tidy up the body to see what state the car really was in. Some pics to show the 'state' it was in..... And a couple of pictures of how the engine was looking before and after.... I've spent a weekend carrying out a first cleaning session with various paint rennovators, pollishes etc. Following this, I invested in some quality pollishes and waxes and spent all of last weekend using both machine and elbow grease to get the following results.... Following the MOT, the car seems to be running as sweet as a nut. I have been to a local bodyshop who did a fair amount of work to my Fabia and in the next next few weeks the car will be going up on the ramps so that we can inspect the sills. Basically it's make or break as if they are beginning to go, it doesn't make sense to spend £1500 on the car if it will be on the scrap heap in 12months time!!!!!! As the earlier picture shows, the exhaust has seen better days - does anyone have any ideas how this can be tidied up?? All the best Gethyn
  8. I've contacted my two local dealers. The first said they can't do it and the second said they will have a look but can't promise anything. Anyone know of anyone in the South Wales area who can do this??????????????????????? I will travel if necessary!
  9. Hiya, Looking to strip my vRS back to standard and would like to put the map back to standard. Any ideas of who and how much?? ********************************************** All the best Gethyn
  10. Going good thanks. Just put some mintex extremes on now so is stopping nice and sharply!
  11. I think the vRS had the edge in a straight line but there wasn't that much in it. I got caught out a few times with lag (even though my turbo spools up a bit quicker than normal! ) but ultimately the CTR is an awesome track car and there is no way mine would keep up with a CTR in the bends. The Fabia may well be appearing in the for sale section very soon with very low milage so keep an eye out!!!
  12. Any prices available on the group buy yet??
  13. Got Mintex Extremes Octy vRS/TT front pads for £70 delivered.....can't say much fairer than that!
  14. Just had a look and Mintex extreme's are £65 at Jabba....any ideas where I can get these cheaper - not having much luck so far!
