  1. Lucky enough to visit the Geneva motorshow today disappointed that these 2 didn't do the hand over for my vRS
  2. My previous 2 cars were with leaseplan, I had no issue in fact if anything they were excellent support during the lease. They weren't compedertive when pricing my new vRS otherwise I would have continued to use them.
  3. I think the temperature has a lot to do with rattles, yesterday morning ice warning on the dash 3 degrees ( not the 70s all girl singing group) and a rattle, arrive at my destination 30 mins later still rattling. 5 hours later 10 degrees and for the next 2 hours of diving nothing.
  4. I wouldn't describe it's as rapid but nippy in the right gear. If you're comparing a vRS150bhp mk2 against 105bhp 'mk3 I would say its a very linear delivery without the torque you get from a bigger diesel. I only drove it on motorways and once off them I didn't really get into overtaking territory. Sorry I can't say much more other than I was impressed with the car overall. If you can afford it have the vRS it's a hoot.
  5. I own a vRS tdi and it's very good, effortless to drive and covers distance very quickly if you can live with high 40s MPG and expensive softish rubber then it the dogs dangly bits. I recently hired a car in Belgium and was given a 1.6 tdi SE estate. I have to say I was impressed with it, surprising performance and on a M way journey comfortably low 60MPG. Also spent a afternoon on a German autobahn and it kept up a good 150kph pace with no problems (the MPG did suffer but not too much considering) If you want a good around family car, like you wouldn't want anything smaller than a 1.6. Fully loaded I personally think the smaller engined cars are limited IMO.
  6. Had a detachable tow trust tow bar fitted yesterday £360 all in. Took about 2 hours 30 to fit. Can't even see it without laying on the ground when it's folded away. I only tow my track bike on a small motolug trailer about 15 times a year so not a heavy user, visited the tow trust web site that shows a supply only price of £360, so I'm guessing due to the time of the year got a bargain.
  7. Having come from the Renault system I do miss the walk away function....but from a security and practicality point of view the Skoda system is IMO better. If I left the Renault key in the car and walked away the car did nothing just stayed unlocked. At least with the skoda you have to do something to lock the car... Also when cleaning the Renault the bloody thing would lock as you walked around, checking the oil the alarm would go off because the key would go out of range. Know there was a maintenance setting. Either way I wouldn't have a car without keyless, as I do a lot of air travel for work not panicking where your car key I'd is priceless.
  8. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder..... As I'm a beholder I think meteor grey looks the nuts.........!
  9. Hardly hoards.... But as I work in a automotive related industry and I've been at work, guess that explains the interest... Been to Waitrose this morning and no hoard when I came back so I guess the bubbles burst.......?
  10. Not sure why this is doing this but there you go however if you open it it's the right way up.
  11. So 3 days of ownership didn't quite start as I hoped, having ordered my car through my fleet manager ( it's a company car but its registered to me my allowance pays the finance so I own the car ) somewhere in the process someone ordered a hatch not the estate.......! All the extras were there and it was the right colour. So what do you do? This is what I did 1. you instantly think that looks fantastic and I didn't really need a estate I just liked the look of the estate over the hatch. But I looks awesome. 2. you return to the fleet manager and look very unhappy, ask him how on earth he is going to resolve it as it my car and I want what I ordered. 3. you storm out the office get a coffee and gaze in awe at the stunning VRs sitting in the car park and wait (desperate to get in and drive it) 4. stone face stare at the fleet manger walking towards you looking very worried. Who then apologises over and over for the mistake 5. Consider the offer of £2,500 off the price of the car if I take the stunning looking hatch parked in the car park saving me £52 a month. 6. Begrudgingly accept the offer for the good of the company as I'm a loyal employee...! 7. skip to the car get in and drive off with a massive grin. 250 miles and 3 days later realise you own a fantastic car that has drawn a crowd where ever I've parked it....RESULT...!
  12. Other than waiting times I guess that means Skoda have got it right?
  13. I've only seen 3, a white, a black and a blue the blue was a 13 plate so I'm guessing a demo.
  14. After a short.....! 20 week wait I collect my VRs Tdi estate mid morning tomorrow, meteor grey, standard cruise, keyless and heated seats. 20 weeks appears to be be good compared to what I'm seeing on here. The weather look less an average but that's what happens when you pick up a new car in January. At least I get to use the heated seat from the off....happy days.
  15. Not sure why people worry about the plate, it's the year that counts. I collect my 63 plate this Wednesday and traded in a December 59 plate Renault Megan coupe. Had I have waited 3 more weeks in 2009 the book price on my Megan would be +350ish more. Just my view having said that my new motorcycle was ordered in November and I requested collection on the 1st of March, it should be warmer is my excuse....!
  16. Vrs estate Ordered on the 16th of September and finally being delivered next Wednesday, I make that 19 weeks, guess if you allow for the Christmas period it's 17 weeks. When I ordered I was told 9 to 12 weeks. The dealers kept me up to speed but we have never really found out why the delay. I can only think its one of the numerous reasons posted on here, doubt I will never really find out. Finally woohoo!!!!!!!!!!!
  17. Hopefully collecting mine this week as well, just waiting confirmation from the lease company, since ordering mine mid September only seen 2 on the road black and white and only blue in the show rooms. Not quite as many extras as you, heated seats, cruise and keyless but really looking forward to the extra 50 bhp over my current Reno. Enjoy
  18. Hopefully pick mine up this week. I Believe other than what's been mentioned above Skoda recommend that you use no more than 3/4 of the available revs for the 1st 1500 miles. With 180+ bhp on tap I don't think you need worry about performance. In reality just drive sensibly until you are familiar with the car and all will be well. picking up a brand new car is a special moment so make sure you enjoy it.
  19. think the new C Class is out in May 2014 thats why there are such good deals, before opting for the vRS i looked at a 220 AMG sport and for the money the vRS for me was the better car.
  20. Like you haven't seen a single vRS on the road, did see a white one on a transporter in Chesterfield, to be honest that's a good thing in my book, like a bit of exclusivity. I haven't seen many of any other type either.
  21. Feel your pain, ordered mine on the 16th sept told week 50 now delivery week 2 , just telling myself it will be worth it and worth the wait. of course its yet to arrive!!!!!
  22. the fin is off center to assist with high speed cornering... it points left on right hand drive cars and right on left hand drive cars.... honest.... just check the technical update on www.skoda/nowayisthatcorrectbutiwillcheck/01/04/2013.com
  23. Ordered 16th September Vrs est heated seats, standard cruise, keyless. Meteor Grey. Told 9 to 13 weeks confirmed delivery 6th of Jan 2014 ( just making sure they said what year) that's 16 ish weeks from order. It has to arrive yet...but fingers crossed for the new year.
  24. Ordered my vrs diesel est 16th of September, told 9 to 13 weeks, told today it will be delivered the 6th Jan... An actual date. Only time will tell.
