  1. Progression... Last night as a pulled into the drive at 3am after work, as I went to reverse to manouver in the drive... Headlights dipped to almost off Idle dropped to almost stalling ABS and Brake Warning lights came on with the same 3 loud beeps. And almost instantly turned themselves off again. I stopped and the car returned to normal, then. Headlights dipped to almost off Idle speed dropped so low it stalled ABS and Brake Warning lights came on with the same 3 loud beeps. All cleared on a restart. Car seems fine now again - there's never a lasting issue or an error code 😕 Any more thoughts?
  2. Thanks Wino, will give it a whirl, electronics issue was my first thoughts... Not original, although been in over a year now & wen't for a slightly larger capacity battery that original
  3. Hi guys, looking for some advice here... I've got a 2007 (57) Skoda Roomster 1.4 HTP and over the last few weeks I've had this issue appear 3 times. When Braking (and usually into or around a corner) The Brake Warning Light and ABS light will appear for about 2 seconds and at the same time 3 high pitched loud beeps will sound. Usually by the time I've completed the corner and got to have a look they've gone. However when I plug in a code reader it shows no error codes... I suspect as the issue is clearing itself... Today as I pulled into work and was driving around the car park the same thing happened, however a second later my power steering failed. I then turned the car on and off and the power steering returned to normal but all my radio, trip, clock etc had reset ? Any ideas on what this might be? Thanks Henry
  4. Hi guys I've got a 59 plate 2009 Skoda roomster Mark 1 1.2 HTP Today I have gone to unlock the vehicle from the right-hand driver's door and whilst that door unlocked the lights did not flash and the other doors didn't unlock. When I finished my journey I went round to the passenger door to get a bag out and it locked all the doors and the lights flash exactly as it should have. Also during my journey none of the windows worked from either the driver's door which has dual control or the passenger door which only has control of the passenger window. Is this likely to be a fuse or a wiring loom issue. I'm aware that the fabius have issues with wiring looms being too short in the doors which I think has plauged my windows before they did stop working for a few months last year but then resumes normal business by themselves before I got the chance to look at it properly... Look forward to hearing people's thoughts on where I should begin investigating Thanks Henry
  5. Thanks John, ended up figuring it out by taking out the back of the light cluster and following the wires... the shared negative was gonna be the GND i figured and the unique positive would be the +12V DC feed. So specifically for anybody else wondering, on the left rear cluster, the 2nd from top was the GND and the 2nd from bottom was the +12V in my case... I tested this with a simple volt pen, put the ignition on and dumped it in reverse, and only the 2nd from bottom returned a +12V (or there or there abouts) Thanks Henry
  6. Well. I got it wired up at the back end today. But getting the TV module tomorrow so gonna do all the wiring at the head unit end tomorrow... will feed back when it's done and take some photos
  7. Yea I've removed the seats with a screwdriver. Its been broken for a few years and know exactly what's broken. It's just finding a part number to replace haha... May just email photos to dealers and breakers for a price... God knows how my car has passed it's mot for the last few years with this!
  8. also does anybody know the reverse light polarity? Which wire is my GND and which is my 12V? Thanks
  9. If I went wireless with this setup. Where do I run power to the receiver from?
  10. Perhaps I could run the power to the wireless receiver from near the fuse under the steering column? From fuse 6 for the reversing lights Or is there a switch under the cetral column on the gear leaver/linkage?
  11. I just dropped this into my 2007 roomster. Works a treat. Satnav dvd reverse camera the lot. Half an hour to fit and I'm all up and running like a dream come true... Great audio quality for both bluetooth music and also calling... installing took about a half hour. Tomorrows job is to install the reversing camera... Just bought the digital tv kit for it too !!!
  14. Hey guys I'm after a little help with intalling a reversing camera on my roomster 57 plate. So in simple form I need to take power from reversing lights for camera and then run the rca cable to the front unit. This would be ok except the reg plate camera I have means it's mounted to the back door and the lights aren't on the door... so back to basics here. Looking for a solution. The kit I have Reg plate reversing camera (like a backing for the reg plate) Wireless camera sender and receiver (doesn't have to be used) MMI display unit with camera in input. (Auto detects reverse and shows cam input on backup) So my plan is to tuck the receiver behind the dash and power that from the reversing light power from up front somewhere - 1st problem, where's that though... Then I'd run power from the rear light reverse cluster up to the top of the boot door and down inside the boot door. Then id have the reg plate camera wires going in behind the reg plate lights and both this as the wireless transmittedr would feed power off the lead run from the lighrs and the signal cable would run from cam to transmitter... This way when I pop into reverse both the camera transmitter and receiver have power and my MMI should detect a signal and auto pop into the mode showing the camera. Any thoughts and suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Henry
  15. I'm struggling to find a diagram... Any chance you've still got a link? Thanks Henry
  16. Thanks @FREEDOM ... I've looked at a couple yea but not seen anybody do the convert from roomster to van yet. Seen a conversion to a camper before tho, that was pretty cool... Just FYI, here is my inspiration...
  17. So I have a bit of a project I'd like to begin... I have a 2007 (57) Roomster which I would like to turn into a van. Essentially a Roomster Praktik. I'm looking to see if anybody has done this before or anybody has any tips on things to consider or where to begin... Thanks Henry
  18. Well they have done a compression test, 2 in fact. Passed it Warm, but failed cold. I know why a compression test fails, and I think that surely a failure cold and pass warm shows a possible expansion of some sort filling in the crack right? Strangely however, no coolant or oil leaking and no sludge(gunk / yellow custard) under the oil filler cap like I would expect to see with a head gasket failure). However I am not sure this always happens... I have emailed their CEO asking for him to look at my case, just got a read receipt today, also copied in my friend at the BBC (often does the trick)... Also copying in Skoda customer services in the hope that they will budge the 3rd party warranty company which they provide...
  19. I have an issue with extreme rocking of the engine in my 1.2 HTP Roomster 1 A video can be seen at http://www.it-headache.com/data/Video.mp4 The garage has suspected that its a head gasket issue, have tried to order a replacement, but the warranty department will not authorise a replacement until the engine is stripped and the head can be inspected. For this the garage will want £500-£600 if it turns out the head has no fault. It's a catch 22 that they won't replace it till its inspected, but wont authorise the inspection... Seems absurd for UK Car Care Plan who underwrite the Skoda approved used warranty to do this. Surely a customer should not be expected to identify and present the broke parts on a plate? Look forward to hearing peoples thoughts on both issues here, the warranty and the fault itself Thanks Henry
