Hybrid Turbo Mk1 Octavia vRS (Massive Spec) Price DROP
frenchieg replied to VRade's topic in Cars For Sale
If this was an estate I would make you an offer as mine has just been wrote off! :'( :'( Did Nikki say would it would cost to map this? -
Still awaiting details of this but it sounds perfect for what I would like. My car looks like it's going to go, got 24hrs to decide
-
Not much to it really, needs to have a practical side to it so no 2seaters etc, not really in to boy racer type cars as I don't think I suit them. Used on a daily basis. Needs to have a good base to it, band potential for engine mods to create a sleeper. Both suggestions are good but 5series a tad on big side and not got any knowledge on the Audi allroad? But without these cars being high mileages you think they go for under 2k?

Looks great car mate, not sure why you appear to have had no interest?? -
Let's hear your ideas then!?? Requirements above ^^^
-
Well loved the vrs estate and it being a mk1 kept the classic side of it. Not sure I would have vrs (octy) mk1 or 2 in hatch as people expect them to go fast! So more family look but with a slutty side to it For instance I'd go for an s4 avant over an s4 saloon. Fwd, rwd awd doesn't matter as long as it can be modded. Ideas??
-
Inspection says pre crash condition above average and mileage was 105k What's your thoughts then kiscix on what's about for 1900? I'd like something sleeper. Got any ideas you can through at me?
-
The damage on the boot floor is so that the tailgate has to be opened with force and closed with force. That's why it needs pulling. Otherwise it wouldn't really need pulling. Understand all the comments above but I'm hardly going to be able to get anything 'fun' for around the 1900 mark which is the offer to dispose of the car. That's why I'm leaning towards trying to get it back?? I think I would be happy if the car was repaired and put back on the road, but Mac you make a valid point about the strength and potential value of the car. Not that I would look at selling it but just don't know I like the thought of it being a cat c if I did need to sell.
-
Long story short I've been told that my car is a cat c write off. I've been offered a fair price (not told them that!) for disposal and a price to keep the car but will be a cat c, so VIC required etc. What I'm deciding is: 1. Squeeze a bit more out of them and take the cash, put towards a mk2, or mk1 again? 2. Squeeze a bit more try and do cash in lieu so it doesn't get categorised, repair car and put remainder of money towards mods? 3. Get car back brake it, and buy something else, potentially a 350 bhp b5 avant?? 4. Take money dispose of car and stick some Skoda badges on my ka so I can still use Briskoda and feel welcomed?? I really loved driving my car so I would like to try and do number 2 and had always planned on modding it but never had the money. Now I may have some extra money once all the work is done to go on mods that I've been trying to save up for a year to do. Damage is as follows: Rear tailgate (I have a spare, just needs spray and fitting and spoiler putting on) Rear bumper spray and fit (can't find black estate one anywhere, hence spray!) Crash bar Pull bottom boot floor out New exhaust (Get stainless that I've always wanted) So what do you guys think? I have love involved and may not be seeing sense!? Also someone may be looking to sell (needs to be interesting) which I could purchase? Let me know guys I miss my car :'( :'( Thanks

mk1 octavia vrs estate - led brake light not working
frenchieg replied to danb365's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk I (1996-2004)
mine stopped but it was practically falling out so didn't have to do much fault finding. all fixed and sealed in. Give me a shout or look at my posts for what I did. There is a brake light switch somewhere that you can check i believe but not sure where. Other then the usual, its light out job which is a couple of hours, start to finish with soldering! Good luck -
Looks wicked. Build me something!!??

Any upgraded door speakers going and headunit?

Sheered stud when changing downpipe - HELP PLEASE!
frenchieg replied to frenchieg's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk I (1996-2004)
Ok so spoke to a guy who is going to help me with this and going to try the extractor tool that niceyellow posted up. Purely because the guy who is helping me has that one. We won't be doing it until next week, which should give me time to get the replacement studs if I can find out which ones I need?? Thanks for everyone's suggestions and input and once I have done it i'll let you know how I got on -

Sheered stud when changing downpipe - HELP PLEASE!
frenchieg replied to frenchieg's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk I (1996-2004)
Does anyone know the part number for the studs and nuts or is it just a trip to TPS? Think I will replace all the nuts. Do you think its a good idea to replace all the studs or not risk it? Cheers guys, you lot are swell  -

Again, how much of the stud was showing on yours? I think I have enough left on mine to give these a try? -

I found this today also and was going to ask if anyone had used it before. How much of the stud was left on yours? The tip of the sheered stud is inline with the surface of the new downpipe after going through the hole, so maybe 5 - 10 mm. Will that be enough to grip it? -

I don't get it. I'm 32 partner 31 (cu80, hand held device :peek: in 2010 on her license) other then that clean license. Me 14 years NCB her 8 years protected. Its in her name as she technically owns the car. Live in a good area, well I wouldn't say it is bad (cv22), 8k mileage a year and fully comp I got flux at £500+, brentacre £440, sky £380 all £250 excess. Car is standard apart from my £80 downpipe and free air filter I was given. So for £80 worth of mods my premium has gone up an average of over £150!?? I got a quote of £277 with no mods with £150 excess I'm trying greenlight tomorrow but may put car back to standard as can not justify such a raise in premium when mods have cost me such little. Especially when they proudly tell me they will replace like for like
