  1. Update on warranty/misfiring/dsg box 1- warranty I phoned carcare regarding taking out another extended warranty. The reply was- Volkswagen have taken it on board contact them. After a lot of internet wasting my time then phoning and getting a manager involved I finally purchased an all components with no excess warranty for £212 ( lets see if its worth the money ) 2-dsg box I was informed by my local Skoda technician that Skoda were replacing the faulty parts as a goodwill gesture ( at 35k I should think they should ) 3- misfiring numerous calls to my local dealer (not always returned back to me ) I was informed that the more than likely DIAGNOSED fault ( possible piston split )after using another computer was 4 plugs and 4 HT leads would need replacing ( No 3 HT had been replaced only a month previous ) So the burning questions are, is there a fault here where 4 HT leads + 4 plugs after 35k need changing? Also who should pay for them and the work carried out. I cant remember the last time plugs + leads failed on me. Oh yes I can 1971 on a mk1 ford escort but in fairness it had done 95k. Watch this space ;-)
  2. Strangely enough my yeti went in to limp mode believe P030300 was the fault this is No 3 cylinder coil, plug, ht or compression fault. After diagnosis which cost £67 +£16 for a new lead which main dealers dont stock, the car was ok.
  3. I hope your correct, my 1.2 yeti was misfiring. Had it transported to my local Skoda dealer. The car is 5yr old fsh has done 35k has had 2 new timing chains dsg gearbox upgrade pack ( due to juddering ) Now diagnostics is saying a cylinder compression slightly low, this MAY BE a crack in the bottom of the piston further strip down required to diagnose, if not more diagnostic work needed ££££ So lets hope the new all parts cover I have really works
  4. NO I AM NOT SAYING THAT What I am saying is take your for a examination get it in writing email and phone the warranty company before commencing work even if youve had work carried out on some parts and the parts have not done a lot of mileage or time has passed. Even if your Skoda mechanic tells you that there is an upgrade pack for your faults. Skoda got involved and covered 1/2 my local Skoda dealer covered the other 1/2 Sadly its now booked back in for oil leaking from the bottom of the engine which was where I took my car less than 2 weeks ago after the timing chain/clutch work
  5. YETI TIMING CHAIN My yeti has done less than 35000 miles and up to now has had two chains and a new dsg gearbox clutch pack. BEAWARE --- Before buying a 1.2 tsi Yeti you know what your letting your self in for. There is at present a bill of £1606 to be paid for which is being disputed by me. Skoda extended warranty think about doing it look else where first Hope this has been of help to some one
  6. They have moved to Bournemouth since this topic was written Would I buy from them or take my car to them No comment
  7. Latest update on my Yeti Received the car back, shall I mention I booked my car in with dealer, 3 weeks later I turned up on a Monday morning expecting a prearranged loan car. Guess what, "you want to book your car in sir" NO its booked in has been for 3 weeks now "OH" we dont have a car so 3 days later I take it back. The work was done, the car was as I left it dirty. Ive driven it around this weekend at a steady pace using dual carriageways and A roads I managed 51 to the gallon ( ok I was using it in manual ) im happy with that. Guess what, I noticed an oil deposit where its parked, its only appeared since the new timing chain/ gearbox work. So back to the garage, I wasnt chancing a loan car again. Greeted with you want to book your car in ☆☆☆☆☆NO its booked in today so whats the problem ☆☆☆☆☆ask him he booked it in look on your computer We got there in the end yipee. A phone call--its Skoda oh yipee its fixed? No the oil is leaking fron the crankcase seal. Ok but it wasnt until you had it. Please send us a copy of the repair work carried out from the 1st timing chain replacement please sir. So tomorrow I will find out what it will cost me I expect ? YETI FOR SALE, FULLY SERVICED, NEW GOOD YEAR BLUE RESPONSE TYRES. One careful owner.
  8. More yeti problems The car coughed spluttered and I pulled over. The AA called fault code P030300 its No 3 cylinder changed the plug same fault, pressure test all ok. Towed to my local Skoda dealer Westovers Bournemouth, the charged me £96 to tell me its the HT lead, it will be here tomorrow the next day came but not the right part, so I begged lifts to work while I waited. Took my car today to get the clutch upgrade and another new timing chain etc to be fitted today. Have to go back in 2 days time Westover didnt know I was coming in and didnt have a car which was all booked in 3 wks prior. Lets hope the workmanship is better than the service. SHOULD I THEN GET RID OF MY LESS THAN 35K YETI BEFORE ANY MORE FAULTS OCCUR ? Views welcome
  9. Hello My 2010 Yeti was bought 2.5yrs ago with 22k on the clock. Since then it's had a new timing chain plus bits. Today a Skoda Tech took it for a test drive and informed me I need to book it in for the Dsg box to be looked at and the Timing chain. Apparantely only the top spkt was replaced with bits, but now there is a pack out so you can change the bttm spkt. The gear box had its recall to change the oil, there is has stated in other replies a Pack to upgrade the box and Skoda are doing this out of warranty as a good will gesture so I was informed. My car has just 34k on the clock which worries me slightly what will the components be like after 65k. But in fairness its a dam good box and for a car of its size an excellent engine. Shame the thing needs an oil tanker parked on your drive so I can keep topping up the sump. Hope this is of some help
