  1. hi i drive an octy 2.0tdi with dsg since purchase in september last year and am getting sawtoothing on the rears.what adjustment is done to the rears?
  2. Thanks very much for that Nick, it does start with BKD. So that's it then .It definately does not have an DPF.
  3. If it has one where is it, can i see it on the exhaust when i lift the bonnet?
  4. Thanks for that John, is a PD engine. So that's that no PDF.
  5. Hi, i drive an 2007 tdi 2.0 octy had it for nearly 3 months and no probs so far. This is a good site 'cause i had no idea of this regeneration of the DPF. Question is does my car have a DPF fitted? Only i can't find the warning lamp when ignition switched on
  6. hi all i drive an 2007 octy 2.0 dsg with 74k on the clock.bought second hand 2 months ago and asked for the tf and filter changed before picking car up.They signed and stamped the book. when reversing on my drive into traffic slowly its as if it slips the clutch the engine revs increase but the car only just moves. Is this normal? is better if i drive faster but i don't like to go to fast into traffic. thanks.
  7. yes pipsyp, the car has done 73k and because there was no indication on the service book that it was done ,i asked them to change the gearbox oil and microfilter before i picked the car up,they then signed the book to say that it was done and they also changed the engine oil and filter,i'll probably get it done again at 80k at an independant whom i trust.
  8. thanks pipsyp, i feel better now, its my first auto and i didn't really know what to expect.
  9. hi all i drive an 2007 2.0 skoda octavia with dsg. I've had it for six weeks and love it to bits. but twice now when driving slowly there has been a noticeable bang when accelerating from the dsg.i've tried to replicate it but it won't do it all the time.it's like a clunk you would hear on a propshaft taking up free play on a universal joint.could it be a c.v. joint ? cheers, barney333
  10. well i just tested mine on a hill, applied the footbrake as normal...car stopped then i lifted my foot off the brake and the car rolled ever so slightly backwards..then the car stopped took maybe half a second...then the car crept forward as normal.Tried it a few times and it worked each time. Now that i have gained this new confidence driving on hills is a doddle. So i do have hill hold.
  11. I have only had my skoda octavia estate 07 model dsg a couple of weeks and is my first auto. All loaded up with bags and stuff and 3 adults in the car entering center parcs at penrith and there is 2 lines of bumper to bumper cars approaching the entry gates on a steep hill.Panic set in when the car decided to roll backwards i immediately applied the handbrake and revved the ****ocks off it,it eventually moved forwards when i released the handbrake. Not for the faint hearted. Now i need to get some practice on local hills to see if it has hill hold....i have the elegance model 2.0litre.Just got back today so watch this space. barney333
  12. To make things easier when calculating from litres to gallons.Multiply litres by a factor of 0.22 and this gives you gallons.
  13. thankyou both for your replies.we pick the car up sometime tomorow.am really looking forward to it it's our first automatic.anyway the garage sold it to us as full main dealers service history, but my local mechanic said that the gearbox oil must be changed every 40k miles and given a reciept for this seperate from the service book.the oil and the microfilter is being changed before we pick the car up.Just one question ...how many gears does it have..it's the 2.0litre dsg box?
