  1. Provisionally sold to a car dealer. Should be picking it up Monday.
  2. Are the others trade? I've found (I suspect) that most people buying higher value cars rely on trade sales offering px and finance. I can't shift my Fabia I think for similar reasons. Also trade sellers generally offer warranty and people like peace of mind. Just a thought.
  3. Oh just to say that until I dig further and have more phone calls with Hughes I can no longer guarantee the car would come with a free service from them. I was under the impression that my 3 year (30k) service plan provided 3 (10k) services...apparently not. Hmm. Further investigation required.
  4. Thanks. No one, and I mean literally no one, is interested. Is the price ok do you think? I've just dropped it to £7250. I thought my arm would have been snapped off at that price.
  5. http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201509287313432 Here's the auto trader ad. Price is now £7495... bargain!
  6. 325d actually. A bit cheaper to buy than the 330d. Still the same 3 litre straight 6 though.
  7. Thanks guys. It won't disappoint it's new owner...unless they don't like Fabia VRS's. I'm not joining the MPV club anytime soon if I can help it.
  8. *PRICE DROP TO £7250 !* Due to starting a family I am regrettably selling my trusty Fabia VRS. I'm posting it on here to give you guys the first chance before listing it on Autotrader. It's a 2012 (facelift with black headlights) in rallye green. It's standard and unmodified with three exceptions. 1) The headlight bulbs were upgraded to Osram Nightbreakers so you can actually see where you're going when it's dark (common complaint). 2) The front Skoda badge and two rear worded badges have been painted with black plastidip. I personally think it looks better, but plastidip is rubberised paint and can simply be peeled off if you don't like it. 3) Team Heko wind deflectors It has full service history from Hughes Skoda in Aylesbury, it also comes with one more pre-paid service at Hughes included (due in 5k miles) including a spark plug change. MOT'd with no advisories until March 2016. Only £145 per year to tax. Not bad for 180 BHP. The spark plugs have been changed by Hughes previously, I also had them carry out an oil consumption test and have the documents to prove that it is not a heavy oil user. All in all it's in excellent condition, having only covered 34k miles (mostly warranted). It goes like stink, but can also easily achieve 46MPG if you're gentle. The tyres were fresh early this year (premium Avons - sticky and quiet). This car has never let me down and I have no reason to believe it will provide nothing but happy motoring for it's new owner. I'm asking £7750 but will consider any reasonable offers as I don't want it hanging around too long. Please email me at [email protected], PM me or drop me a line (or message) to 07789693715 if you have any questions, are interested, or want to come and view the car. It's located in Buckinghamshire. I don't think I've missed anything out so all that is left are some shiny photos.
  9. Hi folks, please see the link below for the autotrader advert for the Audi RS4 I am selling on behalf of my Mother in Law. All the RS4 toys. 4.2 V8 £20,650 ONO See advert for full details. PM me, email me ([email protected]) or ring me (07789693715) for more details, any questions, or if you'd like a look around it.

  11. Both my brother in laws have babies and fabia vrs's. I didn't fancy having to pack all the gear in exactly the same way for it to fit each time like they do. I'm more of a bung it in and go king of chap. I had an e46 330d touring and they just drive superbly, the e91 felt promising on the test drive. Thanks bud.
  12. Hi guys, I know I've not been active on here for a long while but thought I should say my goodbyes anyway. Firstly to any newer members reading this, Briskoda is by far the best car forum I've ever used. Everyone is friendly and extremely helpful. Don't take that for granted. Anyway. As I am due to become a Dad next year I needed a larger car, and I pick it up on Monday. It's a BMW 325d M sport touring (e91). The Fabia there for has to go and it will be listed in the classifieds early next week. If you are interested in buying a well cared for faultless VRS make sure you keep posted for the advert. A big thanks to everyone who has helped me out in the past, even though the one issue I thought I had turned out not to be an issue at all. See you around.
  13. Fair enough. I see what you're saying. I meant that if the disk was warped it would judder all the time (under braking) as opposed to starting to judder after a period of driving as described by the op. The fact that it only happens towards the end of the journey means that it's most likely not actually warped. I think we all agree though. Basically check everything...
  14. I would ensure your calipers are nice a lubricated and free to slide on the slider pins. Seized calipers will cause this symptom. The phrase warped disc is a pet hate of mine. Firstly how much heat do you think it would take to physically bend/warp a big chunk of steel like that? (Your brake fluid would boil first) Secondly if your disc was warped it would judder all the time. Because the disc would be physically warped. My opinion is that either your pads are overheating due to sticking calipers causing a them to basically melt a little. The judder is rapid loss of friction as the pad surface is compromised... or a possible poor surface to your old disk combined with new pads prevented them from bedding in properly resulting in similar symptoms to the above. Next time it happens pull over as soon as you can where safe to do so and see if your brakes seem super hot.Make sure you don't burn yourself. Either way you will most likely need new disks and pads, but get the calipers checked too. If they are the cause you will only ruin the new set too. If your brakes don't feel hot at all maybe check the other areas you mentioned. Hope this helps, it's late and I ramble.
  15. The e91 325d is a turbo straight 6. It's actually a detuned 3 litre and I believe is an updated version of the e46 3 litre diesel. I'm hoping with the solid nature of that engine and the low stress nature of it being detuned it should run forever. It has got less space and may not be quite as efficient but they are just a dream to drive. 200bhp and over 300 ftlb torque. If I really throw caution to the wind and remap it, it maps to the same power as a mapped 330d I think. I drove my old 330d all the way up to about 35 mph and into 5th gear once without touching the accelerator. Just clutch and idling torque!
  16. Haha. Nope. No more letting people out at junctions and a reasonable cruising distance behind someone on the motorway can now be measured in hair widths. I used to have an e46 330d and loved it. So after a test drive it wasn't a hard sell for the guy.
  17. Thanks for all the info guys, it's all very much appreciated. It was dawning on me that finding the right superb for the right price would turn into a bit of a journey. I had a look around on auto trader and saw a local car. I went to see it last night, put a deposit down and pick it up on Monday. Happy days. It's in good nick, full service history, passed an mot on Friday with no advisories and has done 96k miles. It's a BMW 325d touring m sport. Who'd have thought?
  18. Woah I thought the 1.4 had a bad rep... Thanks for the heads up.
  19. Thanks for the replies so far. I am definitely looking for a good fsh. Good as in I can see they're regular and more than just oil and filters have been changed. I was disappointed with the one I tested as it had a service every 10k miles which was promising but there were little bits that I could see I would have fixed if I cared about my car. No confidence in it. I'm trying to decide between spending all of my budget on a high mileage cr 170 if I can find a good one, or saving a bit of money from the budget and getting a pd with less miles (and maybe remapping it if it proves reliable for a few months) I'll carrying on pondering it as I search the interwebs. I think I could forgive the pd engine if the car is in good enough nick with the right mileage. I've driven the 170 cr at least so I can easily compare. I had an audi a4 1.9tdi a few years back with 115bhp and that was OK I guess. Big change from the 1.4 twin charger I have now though. Do you think it's worth considering the 1.8 tsi at all? Are they thirsty?
  20. How do the cr's cope with high mileage? I know they are more expensive to fix, eg. Injectors. I guess it's like any other, regular good servicing keeps them going. Bad servicing will kill any engine.
  21. This one looks pretty good for the money and is the sort of car I'm after. http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201408076424501/sort/atcustom/postcode/hp218fq/radius/1500/make/skoda/model/superb/price-to/6500/page/1/usedcars?desc=1 Any thoughts?
  22. That was one hell of a read. Luckily I have time on my side. There's a fair few in budget on auto trader. Maybe I'll post some I'm interested in up tomorrow. I'm definitely looking at 2008/09 cars, possibly pd instead of cr. How are the pd engines?
