  1. I will get it done at the dealer, the problem is, if I buy the lube oil at the dealer, one liter is sold at the popular price of 40 Euro, I need 5,5 liters, so thats 220 Euro just for the liquid, plus filter, plus man hours. One liter of original fluid in the store is around 10-15 Euro, I plan to buy it myself, and bring it to the dealer, to samve myself 150 Euro... I am just not sure which one I need to buy, as I want to use the exact original one. that Is why I am posting it here.
  2. Hello gents Sorry if someone already answer this one, but I could not find it. I am running close to 60 000 km, and it is time to change the pil in the gearbox. Can anyone of you please give me the code/part number/designation/whatever for the original OEM recommended oil. Thank you for your assistence
  3. Yup, I fail to se where is the problem. The eangine was at the working temperature, I was on a highway, switched on sport mod, and press the throttle. it is a DSG gearbox, ait wasnt my idea to keep it that high.
  4. I fully agree... My job in the past was related to (BIG) diesel engine safety systems, so I am not really worried about a switch failure. I would be worried if it turns out that the pressure switch Is OK, and I am experiencing real low oil pressure. Anyway, I started the thread just to inform the community what might happen', and also to receive feedback if someone already experienced it.
  5. After a couple of month of waiting, I've finally picked up my car from the dealer. What a Joy, brand new vRS TDI estate, DSG. This was suppose to be a "look how happy I am thread" but unfortunately, as soon as I went out on the road, at the speed of around 160 Km/h @ around 4200 rpm (maybe 25 km on odometer) glow plug indicator light started to blink, and the car did not respond to the throttle. I've stopped as soon as I could (couple of hundreds of meters) Turned the car off, waited about a minute, started the engine, the fault was gone. I called my dealer, and he told me to come to the service so they can take a look. I did came today, close to closing hours, and the following fault was read. (I will translate this from Croatian, as the service mans laptop was in Croatian,) Error code: 015CC SAE code: P164B00 Event description: Oil pressure switch failure I am suppose to drive the car back in Monday for a detail check. Any experience with errors like this? Could it be just the fault on the pressure switch, or am I potentially having a serious breakdown. Since the car is new as it can be (still under 100 km on the odometer, I am not keen on letting them fix anything. i am very close to '**** off and get me a new car')
  6. Andrew, sorry to ask this question, but are you trying to convince us that the guy who installed your box is achieving 64 miles per gallon (I am not good with gallons, so I will assume that my conversion is correct and that we are speaking about 4,4 liters per 100 km) with a two ton SUV that has aerodynamics of a shoe box? Sorry but that is just insane and impossible to achieve! The only way he can consume those figures of fuel is to go downhill all the time, or run motor on idle while somebody else is towing you. Even sprintmonitor, which usually shows a little bit less that a normal ''not paying attention to the consumption all the time'' driver achieves gives figures that are exactly double then the ones you are claiming.
  7. a) In snow conditions, the narrower the better, control wise. I already have 225 on the summer tire set, and do not see the reason why to push for it on the winter set if I have a valid alternative 205/50/17 is also recommend and approved from Skoda, so the car will still be street legal c) It is slightly cheaper, but this is not really a factor. From what I know, 205/50/17 should fit on 17/7,5J ?
  8. Thank a lot for this one, I really like them (but I will go for the Black ones). I've just received and email from the supplier, stating the following. 7.5 x 17 CS029 5x112 ET46 central hole 57, black polished, recommended tires 225/45 R17 Now when I click order, there is no way back (and these are 1000 Eur for a set of 4). So me being a panicky tire noob, I will ask you two more things. 1. 205/50/17 tires will normally fit those wheels as 225/45 R17 do 2. What is the exact type of bolts (tampered at which angle, how long in mm) I need to order, ad the suppliers has no official info on 5E Octavia RS The wheels that come with the car are 18 inch Geminis (Anthracite) 225/40/R8 ET I do not know, but it would be nice if someone could write it. Unfortunately I can not check what is the standard bold delivered with Geminis, as I will be picking up the car from the dealer in 10 days, and before that I would like to order winter set (as they do not have them in stock) Thanks again for the help guys
  9. Thanks a lot guys, I really appreciate it. Regarding the tire width, for winter tires (these are winter rims), out of 225 45 17 (required offset ET49) and 205 50 17 (ET51) i will pick the latter ones.
  10. I did, and it is the same thing as for the Octavia on the oficial configurator. According to BBS configurator, it cand vit BBS SR (which I do not prefer) and the dimensions are 17 7,5J ET45. I really do not understand why CS5 are not on that list That is the reason I started this topic after all. http://konfigurator.bbs.com/article/rims/car_selection/rim_selection/resetFilter/true/PKWIDCode/P00034130083393
  11. I would really loike if you could find that one, thank you.
  12. Good, just one question. Will I need aditional bolts/distancers/whatever to mount them, or they will fit fine as they are.
  13. Hello Gents I am just about to order a new set of wheels (or rims, however you call them) for my mk3 vRS. However, just before I finish my order, I need you guys to confirm me weather the wheels will fit. I've tried contacting BBS directly, and officially they still do not have a program for the new vRS. I would prefer if I could use 105/50/17 winter tyres Now, wheel size, according to the data that I have for mk3 vRS, is 17, 7,5J ET51, now the problem that I see is that CS-5 can not be bought in this dimension. The closes I could see according to this 17, 7,5J ET46. Is that something that should worry me? Do I need some additional set to install them, ot there is no reason to worry at all? These are the one I want. Thanks in advance for your help guys, much appreciated.
