I paid skoda for a couple of hours of online access to the workshop manuals, and saved them all as PDF files. Can't see why anyone wouldn't do that. Sent from my LT26i using Tapatalk

I thought you need to disconnect the exhaust down pipe from the turbo and clean from there. Isn't the EGR on the compressor side, whereas the sticky vanes are on the turbine side? Sent from my LT26i using Tapatalk

Fabia VRS MK1 front scoop air-intake design flaw?
MarkBT replied to giandougl's topic in Skoda Fabia Mk I (1999-2007)
You might want to leave things as they are and enjoy the benefit of fresh air cooling the engine. Sent from my LT26i using Tapatalk -
Be aware with an APR map - very, very poor.

Hang on, this is an internet forum and you're being perfectly reasonable. Did the balance of the cosmos change overnight or something?? Sent from my ME301T using Tapatalk 4- 43 replies

I think I'll try the Innotec kit as my first step in sorting the sticky turbo. Meanwhile, for what it's worth, here are another couple of logs. I have realised my clutch slips if I boot it from 1500 rpm in third, so these may not be quite as clean as they should be - that might explain what look like odd dips in the injection demand if I subconsciously modulated the throttle to avoid the slip?

Thanks for the comment aham_uk. The car's done 95k miles so I guess a gunky turbo is to be expected. What is the safe limit for boost pressure? Presumably the 2.6 the map is asking for is OK? I just looked back at the pre-remap log, and it was peaking at around 2.9 even with the lower demand. Cheers, Mark Sent from my ME301T using Tapatalk 4

I applied a blacksmoke map last night, and as some people have said they've seen spikey boost etc, I thoguht I'd post some VCDS logs up here. First off here's the boost, this is third gear foot on floor. I'll work my way through other measuring blocks as and when, but if anyone has any particular requests for channels let me know.

Fabia I VRS - Actual Boost Consistently Above Specified?
MarkBT replied to MarkBT's topic in Diagnostics & VCDS
I finally remembered to post the better log, all looks well to me, so it turns out I was worrying about nothing! Specified in blue, actual in red! x-axis is rpm. Bonus: go here to see what happens to this trace after a blacksmoke remap... -

Fair enough, I'll do a fresh log and see if it's more readable. Thanks. -
Fabia I VRS - Actual Boost Consistently Above Specified?

I think there's a slight lift in there in the middle, hence the little loop! RPM along the bottom, boost up the vertical. -
Fabia I VRS - Actual Boost Consistently Above Specified?
MarkBT posted a topic in Diagnostics & VCDS
Can anyone make any comment on the attached graph for me? It appears as though the actual boost pressure is consistently higher than it should be, is this a problem? Also, is the specified boost level as high as it should be? Any wisdom will be much appreciated! EDIT: Blue line is specified, red line is actual! 2nd EDIT: This is fourth gear, with a warm engine. Cheers, Mark -
How would grease make you over-torque the nuts? That's what a torque wrench is for. Sent from my LT26i using Tapatalk
