  1. First time since ownership I gave the Titty a full detail. Took 2 days which include fitting a V6 bumper but I think was well worth it. Interior took a few hours but now smelling fresh. I can't stop sneaking out the house for a peek as it's never looked better. Run down of the job Snow foam Detox shampoo Clay bar with Maguires ultimate Snow foam Dry Dual action polish with t cut silver finish Snow foam Meguires convertible top cleaner and jet wash Snow foam Glass polished Autogylm hd wax hand applied Engine bay cleaned with elbow grease and rubber cleaner Hope you like too.
  2. The unit would be plug and play but if you add the bluetooth and mic you would need it coding. I think (can't remember) if you have the maxi dot display vcds would be needed to get the directions showing. As said coding is quick so find a member to help out. I tried the cheepish ebay ones but there really not as good compared plus they gave little integration with the rest of the car.
  3. Dyno graph. The rollers apparently read low at midland vw but. Dark blue line was when the stage 2 was first put on. I had a duff n249 valve so leaking boost. Pink line was this mornings first run. Light Blue line today's last run with the revo map given more timing and a bit more boost.
  4. Source of the noise was from me removing the rubber seal from the scuttle panel. Nice and quiet again now it's back on. The coil packs made a huge difference in the power delivery and all round smoothness of the engine. Look sweet too. The rocker cover needed a repainting to so gone for black high temp this time. A quick snap from today's visit to midland vw for Chris to tweek the revo map and new cv boots.
  5. Most of the money is spent on refinement and noise reduction and ease of assembly. 90% of engine components will be a compromise because of this.
  6. The webbing/baffle is more likely there to reduce the noise from the turbo Imo. The audi tt has a baffled charge pipe too for this reason. The air flowing through the pipes would be turbulent anyway and the ribs would probly aid in generating laminar flow - think of the mesh in a maf sensor.
  7. just received some goodies from Awesome GTI. ECS R8 coil packs and holder plate. Real nice bit of kit and compared to the price for just the OEM coil packs of £134 the upgraded ones and mount plate came to £147 with next day delivery. Will post some pics up later on today. Also got a new noise - sounds like tappet rattle or something wondering if its only appeared since i replaced the oil cooler. Doesn't sound nice at all so think ill replace the breather prv check valves and inspect the hoses. hopefully nothing to worry about but it wasnt there a few weeks ago.
  8. New oil cooler fitted along with thermostat. I noticed the expansion tank was going a bit yellow even tho it was new a few months ago. I thought this oil coolant heat exchanger could be the culprit. Not exacly interesting but some pics anyway. Draining coolent Expansion tank removed And cleaned Thermostat buried away. Oil drained then filter removed exposes the oil cooler. Oil cooler off. And new cooler in. Re attached all pipes and filled with fluids and she's away again. Peace of mind job more than anything.
  9. Make a difference on number 9 then? More top end? With that 7 speed it does fly through the gears Still impressed on the comfort with the air ride!
  10. Yea it's my daily. Iv a soft spot for this motor. Any thought on these logs? I think I'm a bit down on power for a stage 2 revo. A quick maf reading is showing 213 so roughly 255bhp.
  11. Ramair filter fitted today. Needed a bit trimming off the inlet pipe to fit but nice piece of kit for the price.
  12. Plus a random on of the boost gauge reading at idle.it's raining and I'm bored. (Inhg)
  13. Also working on a diy filter and heatshield setup. Step 1 complete but will take it from here. I want something that looks good but works. I think I want something similar to the velocity stack that draft42 do but with a foam filter not a k&n
  14. Bought a new hu today. Pioneer dab, bluetooth. Really nice unit and works seamlessly with the phone music, spotify and calls. Routed in the mic Stuck on the antenna
  15. Hi shark. Yea I think atm a sweet running fabia in a straight line would be a match. Round corners the tt is a different beast tho. Sticks like no car iv had before. Did a red line run logging the maf and it's showing 213 so by the quick calc that's 250bhp. I still think there's another 30bhp ro be had once I get this valve sorted.
  16. Hooked up another boost leak test tonight. It appears I have a duff n75 valve. I only replaced it new a few weeks ago but it's leaking through to the TIP and I'm sure it shouldn't. electronic boost controller or replace with new n75?
  17. Cleaned the interior today and worked on the seats. Happy with the results
  18. Think I'll just wait till it goes back on the rollers and see if its running how it should power wise.
  19. Yea tps green top and same part no as one removed. I'll just check the number again tho
  20. Did a pressure test last night and it's holding at 17psi. Could a leak hold boost but leak vac? I see 17 18 inhg at idle and 20 21inhg on in gear deceleration. Boost spikes at 23 and drops to a steady 18psi. Coolent temp sensor is brand new too
  21. Yea cleaned it a nd reset all learned values the tb reset. It's so frustrating
  22. Iv had this car about 2 1/2 months now and im currently bashing head against wall trying to find the cause of a bouncy idle....makes me wanna cry sometimes lol
