  1. I’d been reading the threads on central locking and thought people would be interested in this fix. The drivers door solenoid was changed but it still wouldn’t work on the fob. Also the alarm was going off intermittently so I booked it into a Skoda dealer to check out. They found 2 wires in the drivers door loom were broken and 1 wire on the passenger side broken. They wouldn't repair but said I needed 2 door looms and both fobs needed reprogramming as I’d fitted a new solenoid…. If it fails again I’ll be checking the door looms and repairing myself. Unfortunately with intermittent alarm faults as well I didn’t know where to start looking Hope this helps
  2. It was still raining last night when I got back and I had the keys in my hand as the front door key is on the same ring. The keys were hung up and not touched 'till this morning Drivers' or passenger door?
  3. I came out this morning to find that all the electric windows had opened half way during the night. I did a 200 mile round trip yesterday in the torrential rain and wondered if anyone else has had the same problem? I am aware that holding the key open button will open all the windows, and no, I didn't do that as the car was still deadlocked this morning. It's the 1st time the car has done it and I would imagine it will be difficult for the dealers to locate a fault like this. Anyone had the same fault and also thoughts on how to dry the seats out......
  4. Does anyone know the part number for the light switch which has the front fog lights included? My dealer couldn't find it on his system. Also has anyone any experience of these lights? http://vi.raptor.ebaydesc.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItemDescV4&item=231100234088&t=0&tid=310&category=65226&seller=panel_spray&excSoj=1&excTrk=1&lsite=3&ittenable=false#ht_2658wt_1385
  5. The armrest comes as a complete kit with all bolts and fitting instructions in the box. It took 40 minutes to fit in total! The carpet needs to be eased over the new plastic casting to get it flat to the floor. It helps having a small telescopic magnet thingy to feed the bolts through the trinket tray opening to get them into the holes but otherwise it was a very straight forward job to do. It's also worth having a small torch to hand to see where you are feeding these bolts. One minor thing to watch is that the long bolt into the bottom of the casting of the armrest is an allen key head and not a torx screw head. The armrest is black (DAO700001) but the photo on the instructions is grey so there maybe other colours available to order if anyone wants them. Not a problem for me as I wanted black. One final point is the box label and the instructions say it is for a Roomster but it fits the Mk2 Fabia no problems. All the bits are well made and worth the money - mine hade "made in Germany" stickers on it. I still cannot see why the dealer wanted to charge £110 to fit it mind you........
  6. OEM armrest ordered and I'll let you know how I get on at the weekend fitting it
  7. The dealer has quoted £75 for each fog light but I'm not sure if the replacement lights come with bulb holders or not - not a problem as a trip to the breakers can source these if necessary. The dealer couldn't find the part number for the replacement light switch. Can anyone help with this please? I'm assuming from reading all the replies that all the wiring is available behind the blanking grilles as well as replacing the light switch - I will need to fit the DRL fuse but is there anything else I should be looking for? Does the computor need to be reprogrammed??
  8. My dealer has quoted £245 to retro-fit a centre armrest but I can buy one for £131 and fit it myself http://www.theskodashop.co.uk/product/Retro-Fitting_Centre_Arm_Rest_DAO700001 Am I missing something or is there a lot of work involved. The dealer price seems a bit excessive to me
  9. I've just fitted HID Xenon bulbs to my Fabia and need to adjust the alignment of the lights as one side is slightly low. I see there are two allen key screws on each side of the headlight unit - are these for adjusting the headlights?
  10. Can the front fog lights be retro-fitted to a Mk2 Fabia 1.6 TDi CR 105 SE estate (Dec 2010)? I saw there was a kit avaiable for the Mk 1 Fabia http://www.theskodas...ster)_BFB700001 but cannot find anything for the Mk 2. My local dealer didn't know if there was any wiring behind blanking grills to connect to. Any help would be appreciated Thanks Steve
  11. You obviously spotted that I put this in the wrong forum category but it was the only one I could get to work with asking a question. I saw that you also asked the same question last year - is it possible, have you done it and what was involved?
  12. The local Skoda agent has quoted £45 to access the computor to enable the automatic door locking function. Is this the going rate or is there anyone local who could do it? It's for a Mk2 Fabia
  13. Can front fog lights be retrofitted to a Fabia Mk2 estate 1.6 TDI CR 105 SE (Dec 2010)? The local Skoda agent wasn't sure if there were any kits available like the Mk1. He can supply the separate bits but wasn't sure if there was any wiring loom behind dummy grill to connect to
  14. Can the front fog lights be retro-fitted to a Mk2 facelift Fabia 1.6 TDi CR 105 SE estate (Oct 2010)? I saw there was a kit avaiable for the Mk 1 Fabia http://www.theskodashop.co.uk/product/Retro-Fit_Fog_Lamp_Kit_%28Fab%7CRoomster%29_BFB700001 but cannot find anything for the Mk 2 Any help would be appreciated Thanks Steve
