  1. Thank you for this thread. Just pulling up on a nice quiet road for a new customers first driving lesson and suddenly hear a squealing noise. i remember this and yes, i have a spare wheel. so i said to the customer "this is how you can change a wheel" with the road wheel off, i pull out a tiny stone chip from between the brake disc and cover. problem solved, on with the lesson.
  2. 53mpg today with the A/C on most of the day
  3. take your foot off the accelerator about 0.5 to 1 sec below pressing the clutch when changing gear. change from gear 1 to 2 at 20 kph.
  4. Here's real world economy. my car is used for driving lessons and my average is almost 57mpg click on the fuelly badge below to see my results. i have a 60PS greentech and have the stop/start system active all the time.
  5. get the alignment checked, its more likely that your car is set with too much toe-out (the front wheels pointing slightly away from each other) although only a 1mm difference when the tyres are half worn is not a major issue. the legal requirement is 1.6mm over the central 3/4 of the tyre tread.
  6. i had replacement discs under warranty at 5000 miles, now at nearly 8000 miles and the issue has not returned. as for the running costs, i always have a smug grin when other instructors are talking about their diesel corsa or fiesta only getting 50mpg.
  7. in 3 months and 8000 miles of new (learner) drivers and i have no issues with the 'old' gearbox
  8. struggling to get into reverse - that will be the lack of syncro mesh that is a feature of all cars! Under powered - just like any car a new driver can afford to insure Low ground clearance - approach speed humps a bit slower Reverse under 5th - has never been an issue Just go enjoy the fun of the Citigo! all my customers love the car
  9. as for what economy you can get with the majority of driving being around town, see below for my fuelly stats.
  10. been working all day in 20C plus. a mix of windows open and A/C and still got over 55mpg :sun:
  11. This works for better economy. I was quite happy with the A\C yesterday during a dual carriageway lesson. Had to mix in some warm air so it wasn't too cold after 30 minutes.
  12. The Citigo is a great little car to choose. I am running an SE Greentech for my driving school, fabulous economy and easy to get on with. My customers love it.
  13. Went in to the dealer today, short drive to demonstrate the issue. back to garage and the run-out was measured and new discs and pads fitted under warranty. All done in less than 2 hours. I'm impressed with the service I had today.
  14. if you can offer any more information that i can give to my dealer it would be greatly appreciated
  15. i am going to be reporting a brake issue on my car, it's definitely not been raced and covered less than 5000 miles.
  16. remember to drive steadily until you get used to the extra weight you are carrying. braking will be less effective. i guess putting the bikes on a roof rack or rear rack. getting a roof box may help with managing the space you have, but may prove costly. i can imagine the citigo will cope well.
  17. they should make mobile phone adapters to use this mount, your phone can be mounted securely and charged while you drive.
  18. i was surprised to get an auto stop yesterday, the engine was not fully warmed up, it had only got to 40C.
  19. usually 3 weeks after being built, although at this stage week 13 may only be a provisional build week.
  20. Just done the first 1000 miles in my Citigo today and still have a few more to go before the day is over. It's taken me only 10 days to cover the 1000 miles, how long did it take you?
  21. having seen this thread, i have noticed about 80 miles without movement and then about 20 miles per marker down to 3/4 tank. i would guess that a physical 1/2 tank of fuel is displayed at the first or second marker below 3/4 on the fuel gauge. i usually fill up when the fuel light comes on and fill to the pump shut off.
  22. now had the first few days and full tank of fuel in my new Citigo. my customers love it and i love it, 377 miles and the fuel light was not lit. 54mpg calculated. just trying to get my customers to short shift from first to second as the revs take a while to drop. Its not taking them long to get used to the Citigo, most saying how easy it is to drive.
  23. My Citigo, now with my driving school livery applied.
  24. its getting the proper decals over the weeekend, i'll post a photo when its been done.
