  1. My SE spec. FL is 9156 Brilliant Silver. Don't know how it compares to the other shades of silver.
  2. Columbus is in and working! Got the neighbours slightly wrong coloured trim on it at the moment but it's all good and voice control is giving me hours of amusement. Will get a facia quote from the dealer when the competent parts desk chap comes back from his hols. Next project will be to sort out the missinstalled Parrot kit, it came with the car, "professionaly" installed by someone with good technical knowlege but the practical skills of a dyspraxic baboon on a bad acid trip.
  3. Skodaparts.com have come up with the answer: 1Z0858069BH2AU is what I need, the colour is 2AU Finely Turned Aluminium, only snag is the price - an eye-watering £76! Will order one when finances allow, that's a whole tank full of diesel. Thanks to all you Briskodians who helped sort this headache, no thanks to Skoda for making a simple trim part so f***ing hard to identify.
  4. Thanks Anddenton, that's cleared things up nicely. The Skodaparts description says Octavia Navigation Trim, so presumably it fits Amundsen or Columbus 'cos Bolero and Stream aren't navigation units. 7TK Decorative Inserts is probably the small black panel around the ventilation knobs, and I am without car phone preparation/installation (as yet). If the silver part is the right shade of silver or whatever the finish is called for my trim level this could be the one! Skodaparts.com have just emailed for more details about the vehicle: things are looking good!
  5. I've had hours of innocent fun with the dealers parts dept. Apparently repair wires 000979009E & 000979133E don't exist! To be fair, they're generally pretty good but there's one guy who just cant be arsed. I've sent a request to Skodaparts - they list one that looks right but the description in written in what to me is Skodaspeak gibberish. Can anyone translate PR-7TK+9W0/9W5/9W8/9ZU into English? Had a look on Superskoda, lots of interesting goodies, the one iaind1 suggested looks rather too bright, so off goes another email to check it out.
  6. Thanks iaind1, I'll look into that. Forgot to say, main stealer looked on ETKA, muttered about item 9 or 10, scrolled up & down a bit then said "sorry, no can do" and wandered off.
  7. Got my Columbus RNS510 ready to replace the Bolero, all I need is the new facia panel to suit manual Climatic controls. Old panel is aluminium/silver look (whatever the standard colour is for an SE spec'ed silver car) with a black insert around the ventilation controls. There is no part no. on the back, just scattered letters & numbers in no discernable order. After going cross-eyed searching I've found threads for VRS, Climatronic, pre fl, and L&K. I know it isn't 1Z0 858 069 EF WD1, it fits but it's too dark & metallic looking (neighbour has one he bought by mistake for his Yeti). Can anyone point me in the right direction please?
  8. Found that the interior lock/unlock switch only unlocks also. As that's a wired connection, nothing to do with the key fobs, I've come to the conclusion that it's the wrong BCM for this build of car. Put the old 084B BCM back in and hey presto: all working again. Anyone in need of a BCM shaped doorstop? :|
  9. Hi folks, just getting back into car fiddling after a year off sick . Yesterday I changed the entry level 1K0 937 084 B BCM to a highline 1K0 937 087 AL , ready for fogs, drls, leds, etc. Used VCDS to copy & paste coding to new unit, started 'er up and everything was ok... then I tried to lock up with the remote. No go. No response at all when the lock button is pressed. Both remote key fobs will unlock, I hear the locks click and the indicators flash, and the windows open and close remotely, so the key fobs appear to be synchronised. I've tried adaptation stuff from the Ross-Tech site and a few things I've found here on Briskoda, all to no avail. Any ideas anyone, before I part with the £45 per half hour the local stealers charge for diagnostics? Thanks in advance guys, I'm running out of Valium.
  10. Fitted sill guards all round, then de-spanieled the boot and cleaned the nose art from the windows. Now need something to protect the top of the back bumper from mucky paws.
  11. Took her for a dual carriageway run to spin the turbo and blow the cobwebs out. In normal use I don't get much above 2k rpm, so blasting happily along at 3.5k was heaven. During a brief spell at 4k a mouse nest blew out of the exhaust... The old girl seems much happier now, more responsive and a little smoother. Back to normal traffic crawling tomorrow.
  12. Did some heavy duty de-mudding and cleaned out all the dog hair. Drove six miles to the filling station and back, now it's as mucky as before.
  13. Got wet and cold fitting my upgrade battery, gone from 61/540 to 77/780. Worries about the battery box being too small turned out to be 'cos some pervert had stuck a cut up fabric battery cover around the inside of the box, making it look rather small. 5 minutes with some white spirit removed the bodge and everything was ok. Now the starter stays still while the car spins round it...
  14. I've altered something on every vehicle I've owned except an elderly Escort van which took all my efforts just to keep it going. Currently I've got an ever-growing list of things to do to my MkII. New screwless number plates have been glued on, raised boot floor fitted, proper spare wheel and tools installed, sound absorbing stuff to reduce drumming stuck around the boot area, all important bulbs upgraded, Parrot CK3000 fitted, dog guard fitted, upgraded battery about to go in. Still to do: paint the calipers, fit foglights, fit sill protectors, maybe change the wheels. On the wish list for later: reversing sensors, multi-function leather steering wheel, maxi-dot, cruise control, leather handbrake and gear shift. And there's some VCDS programming I'd like to do... Is modding rehab available?
  15. New tyres on the front. Pressure and bolt torque incorrect, and a large lump of sticky from the old weights to clean off. The wheel bolts were spun on with a cordless drill, first time I've seen that done. Now going out into the healthy 5 degrees rain to sort things out.
