  1. Anyone heard any rumors of possible next quarter offers for new skodas? I'm going to an event at local dealer tomorrow and whilst there seems to be some good offers just now, there's always the gamble of whats round the corner next month? Also anyone have any ideas of this quarter sales? as in have they been low which may equal better offer next quarter? Opinions please
  2. Yep, ****ed off new scout owner here, would have jumped on a vrs 4x4 over the scout. Still, maybe next time.
  3. Just ordered a set of osram nightbreakers from euro car parts, £17.99 with free delivery with is a half price online offer.
  4. Ok 3 months in, the start stop is driving me mad! Reckon I'll need to try and get it switched off permanently. The headlights are also poor, the most annoying thing is xenons aren't included on a scout for the price.Brighter bulbs are needed for winter.
  5. I also got mine via Ingrams Ayr via carwow, however they are my local dealer who i've bought from before. Well worth an inquiry. Great cars by the way, and buying the dsg model with the 184hp engine, they are euro 6 and outwith the whole emissions debacle
  6. Wasn't aware the earlier cars had it, however there must be something different as both the emissions and ved are lower than previous year.
  7. I have a new my16 scout 184 dsg. It is euro 6 which includes the stop start and regeneration system to reduce emissions. I believe my15 will be euro 5 as they don't. My car is also lower tax band than previous model.
  8. I wanted a vrs, couldn't wait the 4months to get one. Ended up with a scout 184 dsg instead. I'm actually very pleased, I think the car suits me far better than a vrs actually would. The scout is definitely more comfortable which is good for my bad back, it's as quick, if not quicker with the 4x4 and a bit of a sleeper. Living in the West of Scotland I think the 4x4 is going to be more and more useful than a vrs. Toys - well yes maybe the vrs looks a little bit better, the xenons would have been nice but then again the scout has a few bits the vrs doesn't. However I do think the scout is lacking some things spec wise for the increased price. Overall, I'm delighted with it and am happy I didn't get the vrs.
  9. Got a factory fitted removable one fitted to my new scout. Also had quotes from local independents before finding mine with the factory one,so I don't see a problem.
  10. I asked a couple of independents locally and was quoted £360 for a fixed and £480 for a removable one. So £530 sounds reasonable enough but the other prices don't. I managed to get a car with a factory towbar fitted so didn't need to get one. I would recommend the removable type, very neat.
  11. Farokinha - I want to do this can you confirm if the wiring plugs into the skoda head unit or did you have to modify the wiring? If so what mods are needed? Thanks
  12. Sorry Rodge, misread your post thought you had the auto mirror.
  13. My auto dimming mirror wasn't working in my brand new scout, turned out it wasn't switched on! There's a button on the bottom of the mirror, a small light comes on to indicate it's on.
  14. Great thread  I have a new octavia scout with the upgraded mib2 admunsen system, would a universal camera work with this with a bit of coding? Something like this; http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/HD-Waterproof-Wide-Night-Vision-Car-Auto-Reverse-Backup-Camera-Rear-View-Parking-/351258781045?hash=item51c8a7a575 Do the units have ports for the red/yellow video in or would i need to do different wiring?
  15. 195) bigdavy - Scout 184ps DSG Cappuchino Beige, standard with factory towbar.
  16. I've just got one, stayed with the pcp as with the current 0% and skoda deposit contribution plus a good discount brought the price close to a PCH. The thing I couldn't get over with the PCH is there is no way out if you need to.
  17. Interesting Rob, I really fancied a vrs and bought a scout 184dsg! hope to get it sometime this week. Primarily I couldn't wait 4 months for a vrs as we need a car now, plus we've just bought a caravan so I reckoned the scout would be a better towcar with the raised height and 4x4. I'm sure i'll be delighted with it especially coming from a citigo! The one annoying point is the spec on these cars, I think they should be based on the elegance not the se, especially for the money I think a few things are missing. Can't wait for a bit of go under the right foot again!
  18. Yeah glad I didn't wait either. Ordered a scout 184 dsg yesterday. It's certainly not worth 3k plus.
  19. So i'm guessing any cars already built won't have it? I'm looking at buying a scout, there are some available at port but i'm guessing they'll all be my15?
  20. Sounds like you're very unlikely to get the satisfaction you feel you need. Best thing to do is to get rid of your citigo and buy something else. As I've said on here before, every brand of car has their own issues. They are mechanical devices that can fail or go wrong. The noise you complain of is normal for the car, as for skoda cs, try looking from their prospective, different dealers and master tech's have said your car is okay. Should they go with their trained staff opinions or the word of one disgruntled customer who's convinced his car makes a noise? I really don't understand why people come onto a skoda enthusiasts forum and tell everyone not to buy one???
  21. Totally normal, you hear it due to the lack of soundproofing, it's a small cheap car. We have 5 citigo's, my wife, daughter & I plus 2 close relatives. They all sound the same. I'll be fair and and say this, my father is continually moaning about the amount of noise his makes, he never has the radio or anything else on, his car is fine he's just been used to high end luxury (read silent) cars. I'm afraid if you want a silent car you'll need to pay far more than the price of a citigo.
  22. Have you considered looking at the likes of car wow? They get you discount prices for the car you want from dealers. I've been looking at a few and the discounts are substantial. It would get you a uk car without the other issues you mention.
  23. Thanks for all the replies, I did think it was probably a long shot. Back to the decision making then, buy one with nav at extra £££ or put up with a stick it on the window ugly thing with poxy cable getting in the way all journey Can you tell what i'd prefer??
  24. Fantastic, I was expecting the opposite answer! I've had a look at your ad, I'd be very interested if I buy a car without it but obviously I'd rather buy a car first! Really appreciate the reply mate, I might be in touch soon.
  25. Hi Guys, I'm looking at buying a VRS but the lack of sat nav is really bugging me, Been sitting looking at available cars and I know my dealer has a couple of new cars in stock which I like but without the sat nav.... So the question is does anyone know if its possible to retrofit? By this I mean a straightforward swap & plug in type situation as i'm not interested in altering wiring and affecting the warranty etc. Thanks Davy.
