I am happy with my 1.9 TDI 2008 Romster. A real workhorse. Bought it 5 or so years ago as I needed a van but also a car. You can get an amazing amount in the back of the roomy! It's now done 135 k miles. Last year driving to Scotland managed an overall indicated 72 mpg, not had for 350+ miles. Always get 50 to 60 mpg out of it. Projector headlights are junk, no good for 'making progress' at night. Reversing sensors have become temperamental, sometimes work, mostly don"t... Occasional electrical issues around the door looms... Front rear console bushes seem to go every 18 months or so. Overall I love it!

In the drivers door there are switches for both, drivers side and passenger side electric windows. The drivers side window works as normal. However when I try to open the passenger side window using the switch in the drivers door, you can hear a slight clicking noise from the passenger side but nothing happens. But the passenger side window will operate as expected using the passenger side switch. I could understand the issue if it didn't work at all, or if there was no clicking noise from the passenger side... Strange! - anyone experienced this? Any suggestions? Cheers

Just general alignment of the beams, you know up / down / left / right. Not the load leveller adjustment from inside the car Thanks

Think I'm being thick, but I can't spot the adjusters for these style headlights, can anyone post a photo or explain please? Many thanks!

Thanks one and all, as there was a bulb in it I thought it should be working I've now removed it so no one can think it should be working Cheers

2008 Skoda Roomster 1.9 diesel - the nearside rear fog light is not working. Drivers side is fine. Checked the bulb and that is fine. Fuse seems to be shared by both rear fog light so not an issue. Any known trouble spots with rear fog lights? Any pointers? (typical.... MOT tomorrow!)

Done a few searches on here but can't find an answer, please can anyone advise where is the best / approved jacking point for a trolley jack? Many thanks

Bear in mind it is not just about how much weight there is, it is also about load, for example when cornering, braking etc. I for one shall be sticking to what Skoda says the tyres should be. I also wouldn't want an insurance company being able to get away with not paying out due to having "modifications from standard" that I hadn't previously declared

Perhaps I should have mentioned that my tyres are the 205/45x16 and the OEM shows these should be 87 load rating, whereas the ones fitted on my car were that size but in the 83 load rating As the 83's will have a 'weaker' sidewall than the 87's it's safe to assume that in time they are more likely to suffer a sidewall failure, hence my post to raise awareness Thanks

Came out to my 2008 Roomster 3 1.9 tdi the other morning and noticed this scary crack in the sidewall of front tyre. Not the newest of tyres and near to life end anyhow (had already been pricing up replacements), but it was an 83 load index rated tyre and not the 87 it should have been. I can only assume they were not a high enough load rating for the diesel Roomy, hence causing such a failure. Would be very much easier if you have a side on photo of your car (rather than 3/4 one)...

Hi Gregie, my moon shot that kicked off the thread was taken with my 70-300 zoom lens, so the moon appears as quite a small part of the whole frame, this leads to cameras (if left on 'auto-exposure') tending to over expose the moon because even a half moon is surprisingly bright. My moon shot was handheld at iso 800, f8 and 1/250
