Had the same problem when my brother died .I just signed the V5..pp. and offered to send copy of death certificate if required ..heard nothing from DVLA and transfer went through OK.

In my local Factory Shop (The Original factory shop) yesterday I came across pile of dash cams at £15 each. I couldn't resist getting a couple,one for the back of the Fabia and one to take with me if and when I use my daughters or a rental car. Made By Itek they claim 1080x 720 or 640x480. All the usual features "motion detect",Auto on when powered. Up to 32Gb micro sd. Not tried in anger yet but both powered up and recorded when tested on internal battery.

How can that much damage be "non recorded"...no insurance??..but on the good side it still has an mot so you can drive it away!

Watched the first one..too much of the presenters, muddled production, not enough trains.

I don't see the point of "driverless" car that needs a driver!..technology needs to move on a long way before you get me in one.

£500 now is cheaper than a rebuild/new engine, look on it as an insurance. Your risk really.

A long long time ago when I was a manager with BT I had a phone call from the office "find Mr XXXX and take his van off the road immediately" It turned out it had different plates front and rear and even closer inspection showed the tax disc to be neither of them! Just wondering what unit you are fitting. I considered fitting my Yaesu FT7100 dual band but it has up to 50w RF output and the Fabia handbook suggests 10w RF as max.( I suspect there may be problems with RF affecting the canbus and ecu) so I'm on hold with it at the moment.

Handbook page 48 " Automatic closing/opening does not operate" "Turn the key in the lock of driver door to the closing position and hold it there until all windows are closed" "release the key" "Insert the key again and turn to the closing position for about 3 seconds" So both resetting operation require the key to be turned to the closing/locking position. Thanks much appreciated,I'll get one ordered. I got a friend with garage facility access, to decode it and the only code showing was "brake light switch" so hopefully I'll get a cure.

Evening all,I hope one of you experts can help. Is the brake light switch the same for auto transmission as for manual? (04 plate 1.4 BBY Auto) I just had the EPC and Engine Management lights come on,but being close to home I ignored them and carried on. Its just as well i did because on getting home I stopped to unload then restarted to park the car only to find the auto box locked in Park, and no amount of stamping on the brake pedal would shift it. I managed to reseat the wiring connector by reaching under the facia panel and luckily it started but now I don't trust the switch and intend to change it using the excellent guide on here.(Mr Haynes says I need to dismantle half the car!!)

Its been a foul day to be driving about today torrential rain and spray, so why are there so many morons with no lights on?
