  2. Ok thanks for that ! Infact I did see the Guardsman on their website for £ 100 including p and p Doesn't look like anybody has a Travall to sell then ?
  3. Shame as I would have bought it off you but there are no screw points on my car and I don't want to drill holes in it !!
  4. I'm after a dog guard for my Superb Estate. I don't want a Skoda one as you seem to have to drill holes to fit it but I see the Travall fits very neatly without any drilling : I only need the guard for a holiday and possibly just now and then after that and am a bit loathe to have to pay £130 from Travall for one. Bit of a long shot, but does anybody have one they no longer need that I could buy or do you know of a cheaper source than Travall themselves ? Ta
  5. I need 2 new fronts for my 170 DSG estate. I've just found some Goodyear Efficient Grips on BlackCircles but they are coming up with 225/40 R18 W92 even though I specified Y. Are W's ok or do I need Ys for insurance purposes ? Ta
  6. I've got a 170 DSG and it's the best car I've ever had,and I've had a few. The engine is so smooth and grunty and I'm getting over 50mpg,with the computer optimistically showing high 50s.
  7. This morning !! Sent from my Nokia 3310 using ****atalk
  8. My rear wiper almost always seems to do a sweep when I start up my Superb 170 DSG,even when the stalk is not set to wipe and when in Neutral. It's fine if wet but bloody annoying when dry as it smears the rear screen.Any ideas as to why this is happening ? Ta
  9. Thanks guys.I'll go to Skoda for the kit.Cheers
  10. I'm sure this has been done to death before but I've done a search and cannot find the answer ! My black 62 plate Superb Elegance Estate 170 has a small ding from a door scrape and I want to get a touch up stick. I just wondered which type people are using these days and where can I find the paint code ? Ta muchly

  16. OK,sorry if this doesn't have it's place on such a forum. Just trying to help a little boy to walk and have a life.
  17. I'm not sure whether I should be posting this on here but a friend and colleague at work is trying to raise money so his little boy,Oliver can have a life-changing operation. If you have 2 minutes to read this and have even £1 to help out,it will all add towards this little boys chance of walking tall again. Thanks !! Oliver was born in 2008 at 26 weeks gestation, weighing less than 2lbs. As a result of his extreme prematurity, he suffers from Diplegic Cerebral Palsy. Cerebral Palsy is caused by brain damage very early in life. It takes many forms, but in Oliver’s instance, it causes extremely tight and painful muscles in his legs, poor balance and regular falls. Oliver constantly walks on tip toe, so can only manage short distances before his legs become painful and tired. Although CP in itself is not degenerative, its effects will increase as Oliver grows, even with high levels of physiotherapy. Oliver will require multiple orthopaedic operations as he grows and it is predicted that as he reaches adulthood, he will use a wheelchair, particularly outdoors, in unknown, or uneven terrain. There is, however, an operation available that could change this – Selective Dorsal Rhizotomy (SDR). The modern form of SDR was originally developed in America. It is a spinal operation whereby the spine is opened up to reveal the spinal cord and nerves inside. Using electrical stimulation, the surgeon can identify those nerves causing spasticity, and cut them, thereby permanently removing the spasticity. There is no other permanent treatment for Cerebral Palsy. Oliver has been accepted for the operation at Great Ormond Street Hospital for children in London. SDR is a new service at GOSH, having been recently introduced by the neurosurgeon, Mr Kristian Aquilina. Mr Aquilina originally introduced SDR to Frenchay Hospital in Bristol, and having trained other neurosurgeons to continue the service in Bristol, he has now moved to on to start the procedure at GOSH. Unfortunately, despite GOSH being an NHS hospital, Oliver’s application for NHS funding has been refused. The operation would remove the tightness in Oliver’s muscles, allowing him to walk with a more normal gait and to put his feet flat with heels to the floor. This in turn would prevent the pains that Oliver experiences. The operation would greatly reduce the number of orthopaedic operations that Oliver will require in the future and would mean that he could run, jump and climb up and down stairs, just like any other little boy. Most importantly, it would mean that Oliver could continue to walk unaided, even as he goes into adulthood. Despite his disability, Oliver is a very intelligent, charismatic and fun loving little boy, who is already only too aware of his limitations. He is already very conscious of other people’s reactions to his disability and of having to wear unsightly leg braces. To be able to walk with a normal gait, and to be perceived to be ‘normal’ would be truly life changing for him. Here's the link to donate
  18. I'm sorry that you thought I offered the incorrect advice !! If you had bothered to look behind your filler flap you would have seen this : As you will see,the 205/55 R16 tyres is listed. Ok,it doesn't account for the .2 bar difference for a winter tyre but you will also note that the recommended pressures vary widely depending on load, especially at the rear where there is a difference of .7 bar for 2 extra passengers and luggage. So,as you are obviously rather anal,if you think my advice was incorrect, you will need to interpolate, and if you carry an extra passenger then up your rear pressures by .3 for each passenger.Obviously if you travel solo, then you will over-inflated by a fair bit !!! Don't forget that a 4 degree (Celsius) temperature change will alter a tyre pressure by about 2 pounds,so you will need to check your pressures on a daily basis,I would suggest. Hope this is more help. Actually,it's quite cold out today, best you slip on that anorak first !!
  19. My new Conti TS850s on steel rims from mytyres.co.uk went on last night. Yes,I know it's not cold enough yet but I'm busy next week and then having a knee op so wanted them on before that. Think they look ok with the £23 wheel trims !! Got some Skoda emblem centres on order from ebay to help them blend in.
  20. Try looking at the sticker behind the fuel filler flap !!!
  21. Next time anybody does the puck doctoring, could they do one extra and I'll buy it off them ? Ta Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
