I have 2011 Fabia vRS done 35k miles! CAVE engine. Up until now it had Castrol Edge oil 5w/30! No major issues between services just a top up couple of times between services. Had interim service today at local dealer, they have put Castrol Magnatec 5w/40 professional in it!? Is this oil not so well species as edge?!? Is it fully Sythetic! Queried it stated that is what they have been told to use now by Skoda!? I wonder if this is todo with oil consumption problem!? Anyone else had similar advice????

Try Camskill for tyres! Got 2 X Uniroyal Rainsport 3 tyres for £123 incl delivery! Having wheels refurbished next week so will get them fitted then

Mine is in for a Major Service Tues and spark plug change! @25k miles and I have asked for the old plugs to be kept for inspection! George my vrs is a CAVE andcoming up to 4 years, is changing plugs done on years or miles?!?

Have had these on my Fabia vRS for a week! Have to say I am no longer feeling twitchy as I was on the original Dunlop's! I found that on some roundabouts adverse camber, I had struggled to get around without traction control blinking away! Had to do an emergency stop in the wet and leafy/greasy road, stopped on a nine pence, did it with ease More sure footed and with this wet and dry weather they seem to work well!

Just wondering looking at Skoda Fixed Orice Maintenance?! As the Tsi FabiavRS has a chain driven engine should last lifetime,when it comes to changing belts, rollers and water pump when should this he done?!? Any advice out there??

Spoke to a Skoda UK today! £399 payable over 10 instalments if u wanna for 1 year! That's without the breakdown cover. £449 with. They will only do a years cover if I want 2 years I have to go to a dealer!! Or try provider directly!?

Hi have owned a 11 plate Cave VRS since the end if the last year! Manufacturers warranty ran out in March but dealer gave extended warranty till start of Jan 2015! Spoke to dealer the other day and was quoted £400 + for 1 year £600 + for 2 yrs!? Any others that have gone for extended Skoda warranty?

The car has had its 3 year service don't think they changed it on yr 2!? Is there a way of finding out? Now it is getting warmer it's not efficient on cold settings I have Climatronic!

Phoned my local Skida dealer yesterday! Said it would cost £69 to service Air Con Unit! If it was with a service £39!! Don't need a service but they would not budge! They could not do it until first week in April!!! So contacted my local mechanic £37 incl vat I sourced OEM pollen filter! Booked in for next week and saved money! Great ????

Hi it has prob been discussed before but could not find the topic! I used 'S' in the way home today and oil got to 106 deg C! Is that too high or within parameters! I guess the turbo was glowing as well???? I don't worry I didn't switch off straight away! Probably a lot of variables depending non state, how much oil in car etc!!

Hi there guys got trip up to Suffolk so will be using more than a gallon! At the moment the meddles moves off full at about 45-55 miles when I reset the trip! So will see what happens! Seems to not miss a beat on V Power Nitro! Guess Skoda don't put a label saying 98 Ron on the fuel flap for nothing ????

I see people's mpg is improving! Mine is as well, having gone from low 30's to low to mid 40's! I drive a CAVE vRS! I thought at cooler temps a turbocharged/supercharged engine was meant to be more efficient aka High Volumetric Cylinder Filling! Hence the need for an intercooler?! Oh well not a complaint!
