  1. Hi, I have a Fabia MkII 1.4 TDI PD 80, which would struggle to start when warm, and often splutter out a minute or so after struggling. The engine light would then come on. No problems at all starting cold. VCDS-Lite reported intermittent signal from the Camshaft Position Sensor, so I have replaced it. It can now barely start at all with the new one plugged in (splutters out after a few revs), but when it's unplugged it appears to be ok. It takes a little longer to start but doesn't struggle as much, and still starts properly when warm. I didn't have time before unplugging it and heading to work this morning to check the error codes but the engine light is on, presumably upset because it's unplugged. MPG and acceleration seemed to be the same as usual on my commute. Other than the light, is it much of an issue to run with this disconnected? Thanks in advance
  2. Hello there I've got a 2008 mkii 1.4 TDI and I've misplaced my workshop manual... Does anyone know where I can find the clutch wear indicator? It needs a new timing belt so I'm just working out whether to keep it running or trade it in... Clutch wear will be a big factor in that decision. Thanks in advance!
  3. I managed to loosen around the bottom and handle end of the door card and then peeled it back from the top. A wiggle of the cable and a re-attach of the end and we're away.
  4. Hi, My front passenger door window wasn't moving at all, so I took the door card off to have a look. Voltage fine getting to the motor so I planned to order a replacement motor to get it moving again. I put the door card back on, pretty sure I got everything back in place, went back in house for tea and to order the motor. However, next time I came to the car, the door was now locked shut. I pulled the inside handle and it didn't do anything, and then I felt a snap and it went loose. The outside handle does nothing. I've tried bashing while playing with the central locking but I can't get the door card off as the dash is in the way. I'm thinking I need to find the end of the lock cable and wiggle it to loosen the lock but how?
  5. Found it! [46] Central Conv. Measuring Block 010 Order is Driver's door, Passenger door, Rear left, Rear right. But wouldn't you know it, the sun's come out and dried up the lock, so now it's not bloody doing it! Typical Never wanted it to rain before, but now I do...
  6. OK, I've got the cable and linked up nicely with VCDS Lite... can't for the life of me spot the door info though. Where is it?
  7. So it's not just me then? Nice one guys, I've got a couple of those passive de-humidifier boxes and stuck them in the seatback pockets of the driver and passenger seats... I never really have anyone in the back so shouldn't really notice them. Will see how much they absorb over time! I drive it pretty much every day, so hopefully it'll be getting a good airing out too. Re-looking at the test areas, the carpet troubleshooter spray actually seems to have made a just-about-noticable dent in the mould... maybe a few applications will help. The only real issue is not being able to scrub it with anything as the headliner material falls apart... I used a sponge to gently rub it in and that changed the texture so anything more vigorous would rip it to shreds i reckon. Maybe i should just spray and leave it? I can't find a new headliner anywhere online, might have to ring my local Skoda place and see what they can do.
  8. Haha! God i hadn't even thought of that. Luckily i'm not squeamish about things like that... but may have to give the seats a deep clean at the weekend just in case
  9. As per my other thread, i picked up an 08 reg Fabia II recently. The headliner (ceiling) seems to be stained with mould or something similar, apart from a square around the cabin lights at the front. Has anyone else noticed this? It seems dry as a bone, even in wet weather... so i'm wondering if the previous owner was doing something resulting in high condensation levels up there. I've tried carpet troubleshooter, vinegar and valetpro enzyme cleaner and nothing seems to shift it, so does anybody know a) where i could source a replacement headliner from, b ) how easy it is to fit, and c) is it likely to return over time? Also, what's in the square around the cabin lights that would stop mould from growing there?
  10. It absolutely peed it down last night, and now the light is on permanently... If it's giving the 'lights on' warning noise when I turn off the engine, before I open the door, it's got to be the drivers side front door hasn't it? Sorry for double posting, just thinking out loud...
  11. I've ordered the 16 pin on that fits the socket below the steering wheel, I'm out at the moment though and can't remember the model number. Should be here any day, will report back once it gets here. I've checked the boot by folding down the back seat and the courtesy light goes off even when the door ajar light is lit.... so that's pretty much ruled the boot out. I'd say driver's door but it's only a hunch... nothing more!
  12. Hi, i've just picked up a Fabia '08 1.4 TDI... When it rains (and shortly afterwards) the door ajar light flickers every few seconds. This means I can't lock it as the alarm will go off, and it 'bings' like mad with the interior light coming on (if set to auto) while i'm driving. Any ideas? I've ordered a VAG cable and downloaded VCDS in readiness for when it comes so i can find out which door it is, but no idea where to go from there.
