  1. How good does the help have to be for beer tokens? I'm pretty useless but I can pass tools, even the right ones every now and again lol

  5. not a bad weekend washed the car, cleaned the engine bay and finally fitted my rear brakes

  6. Well attempted it today got pretty much all the filth off but no luck with making it look nice enough for a pic and lost a screw for the plastic cover [emoji24] Also nearly got blocked in the garage so a 12 point turn was needed. Gonna to try again once I've removed my sai and some other bits. Quite surprised I didn't break anything lol.
  7. Sorry to hear that man looked like this was gonna be a good one to watch. Any ideas on the next runaround?
  8. Problem is around here all the jet wash places don't have a setting for just water, the cheapest setting always has shampoo first. Oh well back to lugging water containers down to the garage.
  9. Cheers Keith gonna go have a look at that, don't really like the look of the nomad think it's more for rinsing which I've got a 5l pump pressure washer for that and not enough power to shift the stubborn stuff.
  10. I put Velcro strips along the bottom to hold it to the carpet, never had it move and makes it easy to take it out if you need the extra space
  11. Does anyone know of anywhere I can wash my car on a weekly basis in the Milton Keynes area? I've been trying to get more into detailing my car as I want to keep it looking it's best but I live on the 10th floor so cannot get water or electric to my garage. I've looked into water butts and generators but this is a large cost and I'm not allowed to keep fuel in the garage as it's council. I just want somewhere I can go and use my own products to wash my car that's reliable as currently I'm at the mercy of other peoples kindness, which has failed today due to a domestic (nothing serious just don't like the tension in the air). I have heard of places where you can pay to use the equipment but can't find any near me, seem to be a American idea. I know this is a strange one but any info would help. Cheers
  12. Pretty much what mine looks like at the moment, gonna be a long day of cleaning lol
  13. Cheers for the comments guys, bowders it's your engine that started my twitch lol. I want to remove the covers as I'm going to spray the cam cover and inlet manifold (as soon as I can get a spare set). Would electrical tape be enough just to make sure the wiring and coil packs don't get soaked? I'm thinking a whole day on the engine for the first wash so I can take my time and also because I can't use a pressure washer at home, garage is 100ft below. I've got a portable pressure washer (hand pump type) hopefully that should be alright. Lastly any tips on good brands for dressings?
  14. Not sure how it happened but there was half a brake disc laying in the road the other day, guessing someone had a really bad day after that fell off
  15. The wide mouth guide for the vrs tells you how to remove the front bumper, shouldn't be too different for a tdi http://www.briskoda.net/forums/index.php?/topic/229051-How-To%3A-Front-Bumper-Mod-%28wide-mouth%29
  16. Only got 3 on there at the moment postiebear
  17. I was looking through some of the guides the other day and it set off my OCD twitch, mainly one members car. So now I'm thinking about trying to tackle the engine bay over Easter. I know I need to protect some of the electrical parts like the battery and..... This is where I'm stuck, anyone know which parts I need to wrap up and anything I should be careful of? Any pictures with big arrows would be much appreciated as I can be thick sometimes Cheers
  18. Just spent the last 6 hours washing the car, really hope the weather doesn't change now
  19. I never even bother looking near the entrance as I found you spend more time looking for a space there than walking from the other end, also seem to get people chucking cars in without looking first. Seen so many near misses because a little car has parked right in the bay. Don't understand why people can't park with brains, they'd go mental if they came back and couldn't get in so why do it to others?
  20. I'm in, don't know anyone yet so I'll be the one that looks lost lol
  21. Taken the front switch apart and i can't see any signs of water or damage to the circuit board (no expert but doesn't look broken) still can't get the window up. Anyone know how to manually get the window up?
  22. Cheers man, the drivers door works the front windows fine but did notice during my stupid testing session (waiting for the missus to leave work so it's her fault lol) that the switch to stop people opening the rear windows from the back doesn't work. Could this be part of it? Also is the rear window meant to go all the way down as my last few cars still had some glass showing.
  23. Can anyone help me with this, I've been having an issue where the rear drivers side window won't open. I put the car into the garage for a check over and they said it worked fine for them so tonight I thought I'd test it..... That's where my night went bad. The drivers side still won't go down but now the rear passenger side won't go up! I get a clicking sound coming from the motor on each door but no movement. I've sealed it for tonight with some heavy duty plastic sheeting but am going to take the door card off and have a look at it in the morning. Anyone have any clues what this could be?
  24. I would of come but being the week before pay day couldn't quite manage it. How about a meet next week? I should still have some pennies lol
