In my opinion the Octavia has considerable blind spots compared to my previous vehicles. I've always looked in the mirror and then over my shoulder as a force of habit and good job too as I've been surprised to see a car seemingly materialise out of thin air on several occasions. Replacement blind spot glass would be a day one purchase.

I think Bilberry is well thought of for cleaning wheels. I've used it before and it's non-acidic. I'm about to order some more of this and some Iron-x for paint prep before I clay, polish and wax mine for the first time. Hey Matt, yep certainly was mine. We had a good look at your race blue and even under wraps it looked great in the sun. Sorry to hear of the problem but Allams have been very good so I'm sure they'll pull out the stops to get it fixed for you and nice to hear you're enjoying the motor. I'll have to go and have a look and make sure mine's not missing, just for peace of mind Can't praise the car and the finance deal enough. Been reading this thread with interest and some trepdation as I picked my vRS hatch up last Saturday. I can say there's no low pressure noise I can tell from mine. Had my partner and parents in the car and nothing to report from them either. The tail gate does need a decent amount of force to close it properly. I have the spare wheel. Build week was 13. Cheers

Had the vRS for a week now and all I can say is that the car is phenominal! Was it worth the wait - definately. So the spec is as follows: Skoda Octavia vRS TDI Manual Amundsen Sat Nav Cruise control Colour Maxidot Canton Leather Heated seats Winter pack Spare wheel Sunroof Only thing I will change is the black surround to the grille. I think sunset glass would've looked good too but we had to stop somewhere. As you can see the sunroof surround is in a piano black gloss but it's not black magic (metallic).

I've had my vRS since last Saturday and decided to go for leather principally as we didn't really like the non-leather material. We're so glad we did, the leather is nice and soft and does give a feel of luxury to the cabin. We also wanted the heated seats so a no brainer for us. Cheers

Great write up Xpower, cheers. Better get used to removing that bumper, it's not going back to the dealer every time it blows a blub. I've had the front bumper off my Passat and BMW before, they all look to be pretty much the same process.

Cheers for the comments guys. Yeah it's not so easy to see the white film against the silver but the bits I can see look fine. Interesting about the key lock cap, it didn't look to be broken so that makes sense. Looks like they took good care of it, the other vRS it was delivered with, a race blue, looks fine too.

I've had a look at mine today, week 13 build and no vRS mode button.

Came in on Friday after being ordered on 17 November 2013. Been in to sign finance and take a few pictures. Obviously just off a transport after being parked up on both sides of the channel and spending a couple of days on the sea and looks like its got a problem with the key surround on the offside front door (see second picture) but I'm sure that will be sorted by the excellent dealer. May be a bit conservative for some but I think it looks quite classy but I think I will update to a black grille at some stage. Looking at Wednesday/Thursday collection. Ah thanks Matt, yep that's the one. I did want the black pack but they couldn't change the finance after the deal changed on the 1st January 2014. I'm just glad it actually exists after all this time Allams have been very good. We've changed our minds a couple of times on spec and colour and they've accomodated us. I'll go over tomorrow and have a look, I need to sign for the finance anyway and I can have a look at your nice race blue one too. Cheers Dave

Obviously a question aimed at those taking the finance option. Having never bought a car on fincance I'm interested to know at what stage did you sign the finance? Did you inspect the vehicle before signing on the dotted line or did you sign before seeing the car and if so by how much? Cheers

Very nice. I decided to change my order from a standard SLine running on 18's to a black edition after I took a black edition out at the weekend. Was very worried about running on the 20's but Audi have done a superb job with the suspension. Yes you know you're not driving on a cloud but in my opinion it's not harsh or slammy either.

I know what you mean, I saw the monochrome unit and it's just a rectangular display a bit like in the Octavia, whereas the colour display partly extends over the top of the dials, looks like the dials are superimposed on the screen, very nice. Nice one Chief! I had an A6 saloon reserved but turned out it didn't have colour DIS so I've had to order one for delivery in June. Was going to cancel the Octavia order but we need two cars and the 0% deal is too good to miss. The Audi dealer wanted to charge me an extra grand deposit over the 1500 already paid as I was considering a no-cost option Brilliant black as they said it would be difficult for them to move it on if I pulled out, I thought they were just being difficult as I didn't take the car. Didn't make any sense since the deposit is refundable. Ordered Daytona grey with the option to change. Apart from the discount I'm really not impressed with the service from Audi.

Ah, so the existing MultiTronics are converted to Ultra MultiTronics? We ordered an auto (S Tronic) but frankly from DriveTheDeal I can get a better spec Black Edition for less than the S Line I have ordered. I'll see what the dealer can do tomorrow, I know it will be more due to their overheads but I doubt he'll get close enough. Cheers Dave
