  1. I have a Skoda Karoq 1.5tsi that I have taken into today about this problem. My dealer told me that they spoke to Skoda Uk technical and that it is a known problem and there will be a software update in a few month to fix it. Seems a bit of different response compared to the characteristic one people have been getting. Hopefully this could be the start of them admitting there is a fault rather than coming out with the characteristic one.
  2. Yeah managed get a good deal on a st 2. Thinking of upgrading it with a monutune kit later on especially with the warranty staying in one piece when you do.
  3. Yeah I will do. Bit early on at min with 100 mile on only picked it up on Thursday but can notice the difference in the handling on corners. Ended up going for the molten orange colour as the Mrs loved it and as you know you don't argue with the other half when it comes to colours haha
  4. Well after nearly 3 years of ownership have parted ways with the fabia vrs due to warranty running out and after all the problems with the engine etc don't want take the risk. Have upgraded to a fiesta st. Just want to say thanks for all the help when I had issues with oil usage.

  6. Sorry to hear about all your issues god bomb. Thought I would just let u know I had a lot of problems with my vrs ending up in a engine change and new clutch pack. I dealt with Robert eardley and tbh mate they are not great to deal with as I ended up getting skoda UK involved. The bloke who works on the service desk named phil is a complete plank and ain't got a clue about the cars. When I had my new engine he told me it didnt need running in and I was ok going out there 100mph as it would not effect the new engine, Which I totally ignored. The manager you mentioned Andy is ok but just be warned and don't believe everything he says. Anyway if u want know anything else pm us and good luck with it all
  7. Dan Wilson dealt with my case and he is helpful with getting things moving. The only problem is that his technical knowledge is not good like George has said. I was told by him the Internet has over blown the oil consumption problems when I referred to this site
  8. That is one conclusion me and the RAC bloke came up with Furbytom. George the oil filter looks changed as the cap was grey and the one before was black.
  9. i don't understand why my oil was as a black as what would come out of diesel engine. It only had done 10 mile from the oil change.
  10. i don't want to name and shame at the minute mate but will pm you with who it was
  11. Took my VRS to my local dealer today for its 2nd major service. I decided to supply my own oil and gave them 4 litres of Castrol edge 5w-30. When my car was done I was informed they had used all the oil including what was left in my boot as top up oil which was approx half a litre. I questioned the service receptionist about how much oil they had put in and told him it only takes 3.6 litre but I was told it was the right amount they had put in. So I left and headed back home to check the log book which states 3.6 litre is the capacity which I thought it was. I called my dealership but the service department had closed so I spoke to someone from sales who was not much help but was told by them for peace of mind call the AA or RAC to check it. I called the RAC and the bloke that came drained the oil off and filled it back up. The dealership had over filled it by over half a litre. He also commented by how black it was for a oil change and that I had only done 10 mile from the dealership to home. He sniffed the oil to see if it had been contaminated by over fueling but it was ok. I was given a full report that stated it had been overfilled and the condition of the oil, he also put the excess oil in a container for me to take to the dealership to show. I drove back up to the dealership after a manager but conveniently he had gone home so gave one of the sales people a flee in their ear and left the oil and a copy of the report with him to give the service manager, he told me he would get him to call me on Monday when he was next in. Will be calling SUK on Monday as its a joke how a dealership does not how much oil goes in this engine and then tells me that i was wrong on on the oil capacity because their fully trained tech guy said it was right.
  12. Yes mate, ran it in for 1000 mile and now have started to enjoy the car, hopefully hassle free
  13. My dealership said they run the engines in at the factory, so I could leave there like a bat out hell if I wanted, I didnt take their advive and choose to treat it like a new car and looks like it has helped
  14. Was told the same thing mate, apparently they transferred my old engine number to the new engine. Had my service booked stamped up with date and mileage when engine was changed. Hopefully if you get one like mine it will be a good one. 1600 mile done and no oil use.
