  1. Hi All, Wondering if anyone could help, I've chased about allover Google to find the answers but not any Joy. Recently the Sat Nav screen seems to be having a mind of its own, i try to set my destinations etc. and it seems to be doing something completely different e.g. opens up the phone menu and not last destination list. to add to this when i'm driving along all kinds of stuff pops up on the screen (Wondering if I've a ghost in the car) i assumed the display must have been dirty but I've cleaned it and its still not doing what i'm telling it to do. Also the dash display where you can view satnav, drive info & phone seems to not want to play either when trying to select using the steering wheel buttons. The car itself isn't that old 66 Plate. If anyone could let me know if its an easy fix i'd appreciate it. If it's not it'll be going back to the dealer. Cheers Dan
  2. Hi, Just checked the boot for the sticker and can't find anything regards to it, if I can upload I'll attached a photo of the only sticker. I can recall skoda carrying out the DSG oil replacement under the recall. Tell ya what I wish I never went in the boot I found a pool of water in the well ????. Regards to the service I asked for the plugs be changed this was in the price anyway, but taking the cover off this morning I found no evidence of them replaced, to much unmarked dust on all the components that require removing and the screws look untouched. I haven't a tool at the minute to get the sparks out but will do this next weekend. The works unfortunately was carried out by top thread tyres as I needed an alloy repaired. This is the first service I've had carried out by others than of Skoda. Another fault this morning, driver and passenger windows are playing up, went I press to go down there going up on there own. Think I'm having one of them weeks.
  3. Hi offski, Many thanks for your reply, The vehicle is 2010 Fabia 1.4 vrs, she as roughly 53000 on her now. I've had full services carried out every year, last one only 400 miles ago, but reading the spark plug thread I'm thinking the chances haven't changed the plugs so I'll check this first thing in the morning. Regards to the DSG I remember Skoda recalling it some 2 years back to replace the oil. I'll dig more information out tomorrow to see what actual work was carried out. I thought the soot could have been an issue but thanks for the reassurance, just pees me off seeing it on the rear not long after washing and waxing her. Should I keep the car much longer I may get the jets replaced. Thanks Dan
  4. Hi All, Old thread I know but just trying to find some information regards to the oil jets being replaced, was this done as a recall? Only my Fabia drinks oil and the soot on the rear end is daily you'd think it was a diesel. I remember years back I called into skoda asking about the soot to be told the mrs isn't driving it correctly and needs basically hammering to clear it. Thanks Dan
  5. Hi All, Help needed, I was pulling out of a junction earlier today and the car lost power under acceleration twice with no engine fault lights displayed, after this the car was going a little slow e.g not changing down in gears but after awhile the car went back to normal. After letting the car cool down I then did a second journey to see if it would happen again and it had a little hiccup when asking more power. Any ideas what this could be?. Thanks Dan

  7. I've owned the vehicle for 3 years and had serviced regular it's a 2010 model with 50000 on the clock. Apart from the strange noise it's a great motor and been hassle free
  8. It's like rrrrrrrrrrrrrr noise just sounds a lot deeper than normal like the engines bone dry but it's not. it's hard to explain
  9. Hi All, Just taken the car for a short drive to come back and notice a different engine noise when idle and revving. Anyone else had this issue? It has disappeared for now but sounded like a total different car. Thanks Dan
