  1. Part-exchanged my 2014 1.2SE Yeti for a 2016 1.2SE Fabia and took delivery today. The Yeti served its purpose as our main car when my 16 year old Vectra died. Been an interesting experience and served us well but it was time to reconsider. The 1.2 TSi engine is willing but you have to time your overtaking moves. The higher driving position was initially interesting but having moved the seat position down over time, I was left thinking what higher position? Elderly parents found it easier to get in and out but that was not a justification for one or two weeks a year. What I realised I HATED was the accelerator pedal being hinged from a different position to the brake pedal. Take a look when you test drive. For me the distinct movement of my right foot between accelerator and brake rather than a pivot from one to the other was the deciding factor to change. Never realised the uncertainty until I drove hire cars on holiday and recently test drove some other cars. The 110PS Fabia certainly has more go than the similarly-engined Yeti. And why did we reconsider our cars? Just ordered my wife an Audi TT - way beyond mid-life crisis but a Yeti didn't fit anymore! So a Capuccino 1,2SE Yeti with 9000 miles is now out there at a Skoda dealer.
  2. Spotted that in the configurator the other day - another £35 compared with price I paid. Happy with Erebus.
  3. Bolero on an SE F/L has Bluetooth now - advised by dealer on collection that this was an addition to the F/L. And it works with my old BT mobile.
  4. I have no idea of the subtleties of GSM II vs GSM III but Bluetooth seems to be standard on my SE (dealer told me this was an unexpected plus of the F/L). Paired my ancient phone today and voice commands are part of the system - stern lady telling me she didn't understand. The phone book appears on the Bolero screen and the phone can be controlled from the steering wheel switches. Not sure if this helps but seems that I have some form of GSM as part of the F/L upgrade - i didn't pay for it! Someone else may recognise what level of GSM I have and describe it better. Edit: this thread might help: http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/292039-a2dp-audio-streaming-on-bolero-gsm-ii-vs-gsm-iii/ Or this? http://www.skoda.co.uk/models/HotspotDetail?HotspotName=Rapid+Spaceback+-+Telephone+connection+Bluetooth%C2%AE+GSM+II&WebID=e63ffa44-5a2d-467b-8167-6066f8433fda&Page=Technology
  5. Doesn't allow 14 reg so not a lot of use me answering
  6. Link? Or do you mean the survey in message #1?

    Frogs!

First frog spawn in the pond today - won't be the last judging by the number of frogs. 10 days later than Salisbury (message #15) so spring must be moving up the country?
  8. My new Yeti must have looked lonely parked on its own in Downtown Garden Centre car park near Grantham today. When we came back, a grey TDI reg FT12 was parked next to us
  9. My Outdoor piccies are here (too many possible threads ): http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/285198-the-skoda-yeti-fl-discussion-thread/page-34#entry3671216
  10. I understand all of the above but I want to see the contents of the SD card in a directory view, or at least choose which album to play from a list. My limited exposure so far seems to indicate that everything shows as one long list. If that is the only option is there a quick way to jump down the list? Someone else's experience might make it quicker than trial and error.
  11. I didn't ask but mine was in the workshop when I collected it at the weekend anyway. Had quite some time to check it over before the salesman could get rid of another customer Since it was dry and sunny anyway, another salesman moved the Yeti outside and we had a further check in daylight. All was fine http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/285198-the-skoda-yeti-fl-discussion-thread/page-34#entry3671216 Somewhat overwhelmed by all the gadgets. Certainly haven't noticed loud electric motors or strange trim but coming from a 15.5 year old car to present day is a bit of a shock to the system.
  12. Picked up my 1.2 TSI SE in Capuccino this afternoon. Couple of pictures parked at dealers while waiting for salesman. Ordered Sept 5th and stored by dealer for 4 weeks so I could have a 14 reg. Learnt to live with one car over winter. There was a Jungle Green Yeti 4 x 4 in the workshop - looked a lot darker than I expected from pictures. Ok it wasn't very light in there but my wife thought it was khaki :wonder:
  13. When I ordered my pre F/L SE, I wanted Erebus wheels as a no cost option. That was added to the order form. Since the Outdoor F/L comes with those as standard, hopefully that's what I've got - I'll find out tomorrow.
  14. That's what I was told as well. Not sure it's dealer tosh since that was my first reaction when dealer told me. Since most of the communication about my Yeti status has been with Skoda UK, we discussed this in a recent call and the SUK lady confirmed it was a SUK requirement. Fortunately (as mentioned in FL orders log) SUK decided to allow me to have 14 plates. So by March 1st it will be 5 weeks since the Yeti arrived at the dealers - someone obviously decided that since I ordered the pre-FL on 5th September, it was just chance that I was on this position and hence relented. if the build/delivery had taken the suggested 12 weeks, I would have accepted it. So almost exactly 6 months from order to delivery - meanwhile my wife's 18 year old Tigra has done the business.
  15. Skoda UK have agreed I can have it on 14 plates so that's me happy. Next time I'll try to avoid a change over of model although I thought I had, ordering in September.
  16. We weren't very original on colour. What's in the showroom or on the used cars? Fair selection of colours and SWMBO selected from those since it was a Skoda colour on a real car (well ok it was a Rapide ). Cappuccino - only problem is spelling it.
  17. Not seen that mentioned before - just lots of people who reckon they will wait for 14 plates  - or not. And any further comment risks going off topic so I'll restrain myself.
  18. I doubt it - so many other threads go off topic. Anyway, my Yeti 1.2 SE (pre F/L) was ordered on 05 September 2013 (start of 63 plates), was confirmed as F/L for build week 2 and arrived in the UK and got to the dealers surprisingly quickly. Skoda UK tell me it got there on 24 January. I had informed the dealer that I wanted 14 plates rather than last gasp 63 plates. And a 6 month wait was not much more than 5 months - he agreed, But it seems it is NOT UP TO THE DEALER. Skoda UK are currently deciding whether to allow this. So beware of what the dealer promises.
  19. Not something I've experienced :wonder: even though it's supposedly been built this week. I guess I'll get a joyous call some time to say it's arrived and I'm supposed to forget the 3 months' silence from them. Kudos to SUK for keeping me informed and probably avoiding a cancellation.
  20. Finally! Mine ordered same time is probably another month from delivery- just as well it's not a problem. Did your dealer give you any previous information about the schedule or was it simply "it's here!". I suspect that is all I will get, so pleased that SUK are keeping me up to date (last I heard from dealer was Week 14 build!)
  21. But both Shark Blue and Rosso Brunello were colours for pre-F/L models so why suddenly are they not possible? At least I haven't had that to deal with.
  22. Just heard from Skoda UK and my Yeti is now confirmed as Week 2 build. So of course having waited this long (18 weeks from order to build) and with another possible 3 weeks after build before it is available, should I wait the extra few weeks for a 14 reg? Anyone have an idea of the likely difference in value between a Feb "63" and a Mar "14" in say 2 years time? Or do I just enjoy my Yeti as soon as possible?
  23. Correct based on the configurator pictures - not on S or SE
  24. Week 2 looks like it might be the magic week for some of us - not confirmed yet (waiting for a call from Skoda UK) - ordered on 5th September (but then it seems to have gone into limbo with the F/L changeover?)
  25. From a very simplistic view, the Octavia 3 was too long for my liking. I didn't need all that boot space! If it was the same size as the Octavia 2, choice between Yeti and Octavia might have been more difficult :wonder:
