  5. hey guys, ive got a 1.9 felly pickup and love it, always asumed it shared the same engine/gearbox with vw's like the polo 6n etc but after driving one yesterday i cant help but feel like im wrong. for starters, reverse in the polo was top left, the engine was alot more responsive and was alot quicker, did 70 in no time and felt alot more laid back where as in my pickup it struggles to to get past 75 sometimes and really hates hills, it runs and drives fine just seems gutless, are they the same engine, is mine not running right? will parts from the polo improve my engine? cheers guys
  6. I would but I don't get paid til Thursday and my light comes on if i go round a corner lol

  9. as the title says, when i go over bumps i often get a clunk either side. went investigating today and found when the wheel is off the ground and unsprung weight the cup sits inside (pic 1) but when its under weight it sits proud, whats the cause of this, is it normal and if not what do i need? cheers in advance Sam http://s187.photobucket.com/user/midian-man/media/Mobile%20Uploads/20140217_130136.jpg.html http://s187.photobucket.com/user/midian-man/media/Mobile%20Uploads/20140217_130144.jpg.html

  11. i've been floating around here for a few months asked a few questions, got some great answers but seemed rude i haven't introduced you!! here is Felix, started life as a cube van, within 24 hours i removed the fuggly fibreglass box and chucked it down the tip! i searched for a tail gate but refuse to pay £140+ so decided to make my own!! a pair of £50 BSA 15 inch wheels, 256mm brake upgrade and some tasteful stickers and he's pretty much done!! http://s1198.photobucket.com/user/midianman/library/felix
  12. this is the car the brakes came from matey!! http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/201011345900?ru=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fsch%2Fi.html%3F_sacat%3D0%26_from%3DR40%26_nkw%3D201011345900%26_rdc%3D1
  13. Yes mate, callipers and carriers from same car...fitted straight on!! My old callipers were lucas and 12mm so don't know why but it worked!!
  14. also is it worth replacing with standard or should i upgrade, if so, whats recommended
  15. will i need just the complete cylinder or will i need the servo aswell do you think??
  16. thanks again for your replies guys!! really appreciate it hand brake is awesome now!! 256,mm brake conversion done!!! didnt need to drill the uprights for the discs and thanks to eurocarparts pc error, i reserved 1 disc online and went to pick up and got a pair of vented Rio discs for £27....RESULT now bad points......i have a persistent problem with brake pressure, before i did the conversion i was suffering with low brake pressure, if you pump the brake it goes rock hard, let off a little and the pedal goes to the floor, even after the conversion and bleeding best i can with a knackered bleed nipple, any idea what the loss of pressure could be? master cylinder, servo?? i will be buying a pair of rear slaves but just curious to whether i may have missed anything? cheers Sam
  17. top man, thank you for that, bit of a ball ache having to remove the drivers seat but needs must
  18. Me again. Sorry guys!! Tackling my appalling brakes on wednesday With a mate. Doing the 256 conversion with a lovely set of mundano callipers But that's not where the issue lies.....how on earth do you adjust the handbrake on the pickup. The Haynes manual was as clear as mud...also bleeding...there's only one nipple on the rear and when the new calipers are on I want to do a full fluid flush. Thanks in advance Sam
