  1. Thanks. I made sure it was set up as variable, as I knew there was a slight chance I could avoid any service at all. Just a shame that I have just been caught for it. But, actually had it been on fixed, it may have worked out cheaper overall. Have had a quote for £219 from our nearest Skoda dealer, so I guess I will just have to go for it.
  2. Hi all The Yeti has started to tell me its 20 days to its first inspection service. The car is about 22 months old and done 16,500 miles with no issues. Its on a 24 month lease (with VWFS) and will actually be going back a month early to tie in with delivery of the new leased car, so will be 23 months old on return. Couple of questions..... Do I need to get this service completed? I presume I do as its on the variable service, and its asking for it? What should the cost of this service be? (looking for ways to keep costs down, as it'll be going back in 4 weeks time!)
  3. Thanks Colin. I have that already. The guides usually specifically say small dents are ok, but not on the swage line. It also suggests stone chips are ok. Therefore if I fix the dent so it's not noticeable and leave the chip, in theory I should be ok. But who knows? Ideally I would like to know what the charge VWFS would make if I handed it back as is. I would hate to pay to have some kind of a repair and then still be charged the same by VWFS!
  4. Hi all Our Yeti L&K lease car goes back in a few months. We have looked after it well, as you need to, but someone put a lovely dent on the rear passenger door swage line. Its right on the crease, but is very small (maybe 5mm) but is almost like a crater. The paint has also chipped. Its likely this will be charged for by VWFS when it goes back. First. Has anyone got any ideas on their likely charge for this damage? The car otherwise is fine. I have had a quote for a well recommended dent repairer. He says he can sort it for £100 but won't sort the paint. He says we can get some chip repair paint and then he will do the touch up, or that we can just leave it as just the stone chip will probably be ok when it's returned. If we decide to get some touch up paint, who does the best one and do you think he will be able to make it in noticeable? Basically, do we leave it and pay the VWFS charge on return, just repair the dent (and risk VWFS still making a charge), or try and do the dent and the paint (again risking still being charged by VWFS)? Cheers
  5. Me too! It really is a nice car. Already had a couple of random comments from people about it, which I have never had before (except in a new Subaru impreza and in our T4 camper). Loving the 150 engine. Plenty of poke to it and gave it a "progressive" drive last night. More than happy with the power to be fair. Will see how the fuel consumption goes! The xenon lights and LEDs are really nice as well. The headlights on the fabia were poor, so its good to be able to see again. Even had a play with Park Assist and its actually really good. Thought it was a bit of a gimmick but can see it being useful now and again. The little ones are loving the sunroof as well! Wifes a little but intimidated by it at the monent. Mainly because she percieves it to be massive, when actually it's not much bigger than the fabia. She will be fine in a few days.
  6. Did you manage to negotiate a solution?
  7. Got it Really pleased so far. But haven't had much chance to play yet. Nice simple handover as well with my part ex taken without issues.
  8. Boooo. As I thought, can't collect today but will be tomorrow afternoon
  9. And.....how did you manage to get it swapped on the PCH just because you didn't like it?
  10. 2.0 150 L&K in Muscovado All being well, will be collecting tomorrow (won't know until the morning!!). If not, early next week at some point.
  11. Not true, you haven't missed the deals. I could actually get better lease deals on the newer 150 engine. Decided to go for one of those instead of the older 170.
  12. Jimbo. Not directly answering your question but the 170s are drying up now. So if you want one on a lease I wouldn't hang about if you find one.
  13. It's a bit up in the air for my collection on Sunday now :( Paperwork has all gone back to VWFS this afternoon but apparently the dealer can't tax the car until VWFS has acknowledged receipt of that paperwork. Which they haven't as yet. Dealer seems to be suggesting that might happen between now and Sunday. Anyone have any idea if this is right? Is the dept at VWFS that deal with this bit open on a Saturday? Presumably the dealer can tax it online at any time when they get that acknowledgement? It's a bit annoying as I spent the day today cleaning up the trade in and taking all our bits out!!
  14. So I have my reg number, PCH docs just emailed back to dealer and should be collecting Sunday afternoon
  15. I would push for more than just the free servicing. Surely it will cost them more to sort a new order, so there has got to be room to squeeze them.
  16. It's at the dealer now So tomorrow we can choose a registration from the list and get everything else sorted. Hopefully we can arrange collection at the weekend.
  17. Will be with the dealer tomorrow. Just had confirmation that it's on a transporter
  18. We chose the muscovado for the same reason.
  19. What colour did you go for?
  20. I am not full of confidence it will turn up Monday or Tuesday. But not really in a rush to be fair, so long as its sorted within a couple of weeks.
  21. Well mine actually came into Tyne dock. It should be with the dealer Monday or Tuesday. I don't think we will be able to collect until next weekend at the earliest though as I will be working :(
  22. Just waiting on delivery of a new 2.0 150 L&K with metallic paint. 2 year lease. £615 initial payment and 23 x £205 inc vat. Could have got a better deal than this, but I had a fabia I wanted them to take off me. There is definitely room for negotiation on lease deals
  23. Looks like it will either be end of next week or the following week for collection now :( I also saw your thread about the islabikes bike. Is that sold?
  24. Thats more positive than we have. Not had confirmation its even arrived at Grimsby yet (although I think it must have!)
