  1. Thanks for all the input guys. I think I'll stop worrying!
  2. Great question. This is exactly what I'll be looking for in a few months. Have you considered a Mk II with low miles and K&K spec?
  3. I think I'll continue with 98. This car might be in France permanently now so I need to find a good specialist to take over looking at the Citigo.
  4. It's always done it and has had 3 services now. Plus it's always been so faint as to be only noticeable by the terminally anal (me). That the tiny sound now seems gone is probably a good thing.
  5. I think, of course it's am SDi on the Citigo. Our other car is a 1.0 TSi Octavia and that is more than happy with anything. I don't think 98 makes a difference for that one.
  6. Interesting. Never really noticed the ron numbers back home.
  7. Our 2017 Citigo is definitely our "second" car and as such I've never thought too much about the fuel I put in it. Normally Esso or Shell, occasionally supermarket, but always regular 95 unleaded. Anyway, I've always had a feeling that, under power, this car was very slightly pinking. I never gave it too much thought, but it's always been there, in the back of my mind. Today (yes it really did take me 3 years!) I tried a tank of 98 and instantly the pinking is gone. Clearly this particular engine is just right for 98 octane fuel. Fortunately here in France the price differential is very small between the grades (often the basic price is reserved for E10) so there's little extra to pay. Can't yet say if it's quicker or more economical...those would be a bonus and, after all, it's a Citigo!
  8. Aha! thank you for that. I know the colour name, but alas some touchup paint I bought for it is miles out. I'll take it round to my dealer and just buy some from them.
  9. As title! I can't find the label anywhere. Deffo not in the boot. Any ideas?
  10. 1.0 estate here on a manual box, 2019 car. Bettering 50mpg on nearly all journeys. I think you need to get it checked. Cheers, Nic.
  11. PRICE REDUCTION Lovely example of the Skoda Citigo SE MPi. Full Skoda service history and just 18,000 miles on the clock. Immaculate condition inside and out with very little wear and tear. Won't need an MOT until January 2020. Genuine private sale. Needs to go soon (new car has arrived) so £5,200 ono This must go soon so price reduced. Open to offers. 12. It's not a hard job (albeit it's awkward without the right gear) but as stated above, it MUST be done. Now. I'm lucky to have bought my DSG with 40k on the clock but only found out about the oil change from my own reading. I reckon it's something that gets missed and explains a lot!
  13. I need a new battery for my 2006 Octy 1.9tdi. Can anyone recommend the best make and good value source? The old battery is a Varta. Many thanks, Nic.
  14. Exactly my experience Fin69 (3 years in my case). Frankly I got so fed up with manhandling the buggers out that I just left them on flat and, like you, no problems here on on the continent and no MOT issues (tested last week).
  15. As for long term reliability of the DQ250 6 speed: My 55 plate Octy is still driving like new. When I bought it it was v low miles (10 years/40k miles) and I had the gearbox oil changed immediately. Now on 100k and with another oil change at 80k it's still working perfectly. I know the 7 speed DQ200 has had many issues but a well maintained 250 seems pretty bomb-proof.
  16. I've had Michelin Energy on my 55 plate for the last 3 years. They've done a great job and lasted really well. They're out of production now so just put a pair of Primacy on the rear. Not sure if they'll last as well or give as good fuel economy.
  17. Just brought my Citigo in for its first "service", which is being done now. For my £150 I get an oil change and...that's it. OK, they top up the washer fluid and give it a "visual inspection". After a bit of moaning, the manager reduced it to £125 so I was happy I had a moan! The manager did point out that the equivalent VW and Seat prices are even higher. Of interest is that if it was a top Superb, because of the variable servicing it's £250 every 24 months/20,000 miles, or, put another way, much cheaper that for the Citigo which will need another £200+ service in another year. Is it only me that thinks these fixed servicing prices for virtually nothing are a **** take?
  18. I always worry when people talk about "pressing on".
  19. The Move and Fun app is pretty crap to be honest.
  20. I got my remap done by AWTuning who, as Auric pointed out, are in Sidcup. Got 30% off by waiting for Black Friday (£80 - thanks, Timmyboy). Car is transformed and everything I cold wish for.
