I own a Skoda Octavia RS 2008 and the Tyre Pressure light and the Traction Control light keep turning on intermittently but can stay on for a good while. Here is the results of a scan I carried out earlier. Just in case this is the problem the car came with tyres 225/40 R18 92Y (I have the back two tyres with these measurements) however just before Christmas I got two new front tyres which are 225/40 ZR18 92 W. Could the difference in the speed rating in the tyres cause this problem? Also I have tried turning the tyre pressure light off and traction control light off but they will not turn off. Any help would be greatly appreciated as if it is a major problem I want to go to a skoda garage as the cars guarantee expires in the middle of March. Just to give an update. I took the headlight out Saturday morning to see if there was any wires loose and when I connected the headlight back up and checked the Xenon Controller Faults 05137 and 05139 are now showing up. I have checked up Ross Wiki to see what they mean and I have checked fuses but could find nothing. I went so far as taking the Front wheel off yesterday to try and locate the sensor but could not find it (in truth I did not know what I was looking for). What I did establish is that I got someone to turn on the lights yesterday and I can definitely hear the motor working for the right light but the light does not move. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. I am thinking of going to an Auto-electrician on Wednesday is there anything I can tell him to look at.

I done another scan and no faults showing up. I then carried out an output test and only left light is working. There is no response from the right light. Any ideas

Just to fill you in on the problem but I now have another problem. The lights aren't levelling. Any ideas what could be wrong?

Hi I was wondering if somebody could help me. I done a scan on the car tonight (2008 Skoda Octavia RS) and it stated that at Address 55 that the Xenon Range cannot be reached. Also at Address 17 there is a fault with the control module for headlight range. The strange thing is that when I turn on the Xenon lights, they appear to be working as the lights go down and then up again as if they are adjusting. Any help would be appreciated.

You can buy the Ecu and can wire for about €40.00 and you can buy same from a website in the Czech Republic (www.skodateile.cz) To give you a rough idea of what is involved have a look at this website http://www.passat3c.info/cms_neu/index.php?page=166 I think i might be in German but the website will automatically translate it for you. If you are thinking of buying the ECU email the guy in the Czech Republic with your VIN number to make sure your parking sensors will work with the new ECU.

Hi, My name is James and I live in Ireland. I have a Skoda Octavia RS 2002 and the air conditioning is not working on my car. The clutch engages but no cold air comes out. A fault has come up on my mechanic's computer which is as follows:V-71 Air Flow Flap Valve Motor. I was just wondering did you ever get the air conditioning fixed and whether the V-71 fault came up. Hi, My Name is James and I live In Ireland. I have a 2002 Skoda Octavia RS and I have a major problem with the air conditioning. I brought it to a specialist last Saturday the 19th of May and off course when he looked at it, it was working perfectly. However an hour after I left him it wasn't working again. I mean to say air was coming out but it was the ordinary air as if Econ was on. Then all of a sudden it was working again on Tuesday the 22nd of May. However the next day it was the same thing air coming out but it wasn't cool air. So I brought it to the same specialist on Wednesday (today) who emptied the gas, put air through it to clear out any air locks and then regassed the air conditioning and of course cold air was coming out and I went away happy. But when I got home, I turned it on to see if it was still working and of course it wasn't. I was wondering it anybody has encountered the same problem or would have any idea of what is wrong. Hi, I have the 2002 RS version and I am sorry to hear about your trouble. I have a good bit of knowledge in this area and unfortunately the garage can do what they like because if you decide to litigate this matter, Skoda Uk will usually indemnify the garage.
