  1. After having the car now for a couple of months, the one thing I do wish it had more of was a better exhaust noise. I’ve been told that a resonate delete is pointless on the 245 2019 model as it has a GPF, so looking at other options. Being a daily car I don’t want something too loud, so was looking at a resonated scorpion cat back. For those that have changed the exhaust on a model fitted with a. GPF, what did you go for and what does it sound like? Thanks, , Dan
  2. Evening all, Im back in a VRS after buying my third Mk3 Octavia VRS after a bit of time away from one. I originally wanted a 245 DSG in meteor grey but came across this immaculate 2019 moon white one with only 7,000 miles on the clock, and it was too good to miss out on! All I’ve done so far is add some stripes to the grill, but I’ll probably do a couple more subtle little changes…..and maybe something to get the exhaust sounding a bit better.
  3. 40 quid, so i might just look at a Skoda gloss black one for the extra 2 quid
  4. I toyed with the idea of a 230, but doing 60 miles a day thought id better stick to the sensible option.......sadly! Ive had Impreza, Astra VXR, Cavslier Turbos etc in the past, and do miss my petrol cars!
  5. Thanks, getting the windows tinted next week and the grill wrapped black.
  6. Well my 63 plate VRS gave me 57,000 miles of trouble free motoring, but with the miles creeping higher and higher it was time for her to go before she was worth hardly anything! I did think about waiting for a 66 plate, but when I got offered a good deal on a VRS hatch in July I couldn't really say no, especially with 0%, £750 free fuel and the fact the car was there ready in stock with the spec I want.......red seat stitching and all. Did think of going estate again, but as I no longer carry dogs, and I fancied a "hot hatch" for a change I thought a hatch would be nice. Still plenty of room for the family and twenty quid a month cheaper on PCP was also a bonus, Picked her up end of July! So far so good. Miss my old estate in some ways (practicality) but loving the hatch looks wise! Dan
  7. That's something I didn't consider. What's the catch on a PCH?
  8. Thanks for the advice. Looks like I'll keep it now till next year, and see what happens then. Let's hope the 0% and loyalty and deposit contribution is still available then! Lol
  9. In short my mileage went for 40 miles per day on a 15000 a year pcp to 70+ miles a day, hence why I've gone over. I'm now back to 40 miles a day which should stop that happening on my next deal.
  10. Well after 2.5 years and covering 47000 miles in her, I'm thinking of changing my Octavia VRS tdi estate to a newer one! Been to see Skoda and they want £500 deposit and about £30 a month extra from me on a 42 month contract to change to a new VRS estate in white, again with the Diesel engine. That would take my monthly payments to 370 a month which is too much now I have a little one. Free servicing for 3 years again may have swung the deal, but they wanted an extra 550 for that! They would not budge on this!!! So my dilemma is what to do- First option is to keep it for the remaining 12 months and pile on the mileage on this one, and see what deal they can do me then. Second option is to change it for a Seat Leon 5 door FR with the same 184 Diesel engine in white with black pack. Cheaper car so cheaper monthly payments, even in the estate version. Don't know if anyone on here has or has had one, I would appreciate your thoughts on it. Thanks, Dan
  11. Said 15k a year. Car was 18 months old yesterday and it's on 32k!!!!!!!
  12. Happened to mine on a 1000 miles and again on 28000 miles. No boost? Boost sensor replaced on both occasions under warranty and the problem was solved. Think it shows a fault something like "intake air leak". They played with mine for 3 weeks the first time and 2 days the second time when I pointed out it had the same fault as the first time I had the problem.
  13. After having mine for about 2 weeks engine management light came on and car wouldn't accelerate or Rev more than 3000rmp. 28000 miles later EML back on but no fault until you drive hard. The heater plug light starts to flash then and the car looses power. Off to the dealer on Monday!
  14. Hatchbag ordered today in black, with the seat split and bumper protector!
  15. Thanks for that John, they do look good. I've got the Skoda rubber boot mat, so I'm hoping that will fit on top?
  16. Thanks John, I've just been reading reviews and a few seem to be complaining about the Velcro fitting on the hatch bag, which is why I'm thinking more about the boot buddy. Have you had problems with the Velcro mate? Dan
  17. Thanks Astec123. I have a rubber boot mat, I just need something that will protect the carpets on the sides from mud and hair.
  18. Has anybody used a hatch bag or boot buddy??? I have one very messy spaniel who loves water and mud, and a large hairy German shepherd. I'm leaning towards the boot buddy, but would like your opinions first. Dan
  19. Let's hope it's reflected in the part ex price when I swap for another in September 2016!
  20. A 3.0 TDi Quattro set up in the Octavia would be a seller!
  21. Mines on 9k and tyres are down to 2mm on the front too!!!
  22. Hastings Direct quoted me 260ish for the year......cheapest I could find, and low excess!
