The trouble with the reversing light is that they don't illuminate your view of the side of the car and therefore your rear wheels, which I am trying to avoid kerbing for the 3rd time ;-) I thought that any light would be better than none. As puddle illuminators I think that they are a gimmick.

Has anyone managed to update the software so that these come on as you reverse? Thereby acting as some illumination for the kerb when you can't see a thing? Otherwise they are practically pointless..

Yep - Mine does this quite frequently. Just to remind me of its heritage! I find this software bug quite funny.

Thanks for the replies guys - sorry for re-starting a 'daily issue' but I did search for this first.... ;-) Anyways - it was supposed to be on flexible servicing so 17000 miles or so, but they forgot to reset that when they put the new ECU in at 400 miles when I had all those problems on first arrival.

Hi, My car is saying it needs it's first 10000 mile service already, but it has only done 9400 miles..... My friends Octavia is on the same mileage and is exactly the same. Why has the internal timer not set up for 10000 miles instead of the reduced mileage of 9400 miles?....

Hi, I connect my iPhone to the car with Bluetooth. I never get message tones from my phone when it is connected like this and the ringtone is the iPhone ringtone replayed through the speakers. I can't get it to play the chosen ringtone from the entertainment system like my friend who has an Android Phone. Is this just a limitation of the Apple interface?

Yes I had loads of issues. Search for DPF and you'll find my thread. Hopefully the dealer will sort it out quickly but mine took 6 weeks and was finally found to be 1.6 TDi engine sensors in the 2.0TDi engine !!!

When I connect my iPhone to my Octavia via Bluetooth the message tones are muted. Is this normal? I've tried lots of different settings but can't seem to find a fix.

I love my headlight washers and count 9 times and then wait as long as I can to wash the windscreen so that when a BMW driver gets within 2mm of my boot I let loose and several thousand litres of cheap '99p Stores' washer fluid sprays all over his hyper expensive car doing untold damage to his paintwork I expect :-) Smells like paraffin too so it's very manly

Yep - I got the Skoda liner for my variable boot as part of a 'good will gesture'. It's really well made, very thick and fits perfectly. But be aware that once you have a heavy liner in, you can only drop the boot down when it is fitted. If you want to raise the boot floor, you will need to remove the heavy liner or it may break the floor.

Thanks for your replies! I'm kind of glad it's not just me. I think it's where there are so many seals around the door to keep the cabin quiet, they forgot to allow water to escape if it mysteriously gets in. I think it's going in via the window channel, the seal is a good 1mm from the window. Hence why winding the window up and down to clear foggy window has no effect!!
