  1. Well the factory vrs wheel specs are 18x7.5 et51, so the new wheel will be about 14mm closer to the suspension and the outer rim will poke out about 36mm.
  2. I've used 2 Golf controllers with altered data for my electric folding mirror. The only problem is that both mirror could not adjust simoutanously. I was told that the controller and the window motor should be paired, or it will has issues. Haven't decided if I should buy a pair of OEM motors and controllers as they are costly.
  3. I thought "easy entry" feature comes with memory seats. Aren't the seat adjust motors and seat control module of memory seats different from normal electric seats?
  4. Mk3 steering wheel will fit. Don't know how to install though
  5. Just in theory, I thought you just need to swap the bumpers, glue on the side trims, and it's done. Fog lights covers are different, but bulbs should be the same. Don't know if tail pipe position should be adjust though. Haven't found a proper pre FL pic so I used a FL one and lower the car, so you would judge if ride height matters or not.
  6. I thought it's not intend for dipping the mirror when reversing, but for adjusting the mirror more easily when switching drivers. There's a seperate function, which comes with memory seat, that the passenger side mirror would tilt down a little when reverse gear is engaged. This function can also be triggered using VCDS by tricking the door control module to think that you have memory seat equipped. It only works with certain door control modules.
  7. Seems like a pre fl model. I thought you could find one on eBay within 20 pounds? Installation is quite easy. There are 2 or 3 screws(red circled below).
  8. Not sure about the Amundsen+, but I've upgraded mine to a Columbus and it works out quite well so far. Bluetooth audio, mic, climate status, steering control, front & rear parking aid and maxidot info would all work with correct VCDS coding. It would also support rear view camera if you install one.
  9. Some OEM VAG wheel ideas I photoshopped when I first bought my car. Then I went for the Neuspeed RSe12. PS I thought 19" wheels would be better looking if driving condition allows.
  10. Did you have the radio on? There's a cooling fan inside the Bolero or Columbus, problably that's where the noise comes from?
  11. Both side panels have screws behind the locker, which you have to remove the locker to unscrew. You can follow Canders' instruction, but I don't think there's enough room to get the locker out. I think you could try removing the air con panel first.
  12. Have you checked if there's an oil leak or not?
  13. Good thing is that our grille is fitted in the hood, not in the bumper, I think with this design there's less chance to be blown upwards.
  14. A trip to the airport with my wife and my parents (4 adults). Bragged about this to almost all my friends after that.
  15. Thanks mate. Local technicans said that the lever prevents the hood from accidently popping up, as Chinese-spec cars don't have hood lock sensors. This happened to me once as I was thinking about checking the oil level, pulled the switch, then I got a phone call and competely forgot to check the oil, and drove off with the hood unlocked. It wasn't blown up by wind though, but I thought it could be if the speed was fast enough.
  16. Sorry, I meant fan motor, just my English is not good and didn't know how to say that :-( I haven't tried to remove the fan motor, so I don't know if the grommet could be seen.
  17. You can check the wiring for air quility sensor which went through the firewall from the engine bay. It's somewhere behind the glovebox as Sarge said, but since the aircon compressor(I thought) is also located behind the glove box, you won't see the wiring unless you remove the compressor. I was told there's a simillar wiring position on the driver's side for front parking aid or headlight, but I don't know where. A third option is to follow the hood lock sensor and cable which goes into the cabin from engine bay as well.
  18. Have used the same grille & color theme on my car, with the lever removed. But I was told several times by different technicans that it's not safe. I'm curious about how to cut the lever so it can stretch out through the honeycomb. BTW the badge was cut from the original grille and glued on the grille.
  19. Hi, I'm working on a seprate rear seat base retrofit. It seems that the clips are different. ETKA says it's 1K0886373C but it seems not. Does anyone know the part number of these clips? Borrow a photo from an older thread to illustrate. Thanks Dylan
  20. Thanks. It's a Mk5 GTI/R32 skirt, not Mk4. You have to go for the 5-door version. No altering is needed, but you could choose to drill a hole in the front end so you can fix it with the wheel arch screw, or just trust the glue.
  21. Actually the Superb Mk2(3T)'s armrest is the same shape as Octavia Mk2, but with 2 retractable cup holders and a smaller storage area. Just need to find one with the same trim as yours.
  22. Chinese-spec LED taillight, honeycomb grille, MkV GTI 5-door skirt, Superskoda RS+ diffuser, OEM ducktail spoiler, Neuspeed RSe12.
  23. Got a strange problem with my electrically lumbar support. I'm not from a English speaking country so I'll try to describe the problem as clear as I can. The lumbar support has 4 adjustable directions. Up and down of mine work well. The problem comes with the in and out direction. Normally, if the lumbar support is in the outermost position, by pressing the left button it'll go back in and stop at the innermost position, and the adjust motor will stop working. What happened to mine is that if I continue to press the 'in' button when the lumbar support is already at the innermost position, the adjust motor won't stop, and the lumbar support begins to stretch out, eventually stops at the outermost position. At this situation, if I press the 'out' button, the lumbar support will go back in till its innermost position, then come out again until it reach the outermost position. Did a research on the lumbar support structure but didn't find anything useful. The lumbar support is powered by a motor and some metal wires rather than an air pump. Had the switch changed but didn't help. Any idea where it goes wrong? Thanks!
  24. Just a thought, what's the outside temperature on the dash? Same problem happened to me once. I felt hot, turned on the Climatronic, set the temp to 23 degrees with AC on. It started to blow hot air, then I notice the outside temp was 21 degrees. It went cold when I set the temp to 20.
  25. Forget about the wheel arch. My bad. Anyway, do you have to remove the front tire as well if you want to get the pump?
