  1. Well folks, think we all got a little carried away with the insurance implications on OE retrofit cruise. Point taken though, and I would have no problem declaring it to my insurers the minute it's fitted. For that & other reasons (value, pro fit, lazy) I will look at getting it fitted by a valid company and as stated, Awesome's price does take some beating! Thanks for all the tips and info
  2. Cheers Liverpool lad Bowders- wow! Looks like quite a job!
  3. Well traveling to awesome in Manc would be £180 ish all in, JKM still looking like £240!
  4. As title really folks, any info welcome. I know JKM is near me, but they advertise at £199+VAT I dont mind travelling if it still works out cheaper? Car is Octy VRS 2003
  5. What's the discount code for this deal on ECP? Please?
  6. Ok, just completed the diagnostic and had code 4FA 00 What part will i need to change?
  7. I will try and pinpoint sound location more precisely. I have found the self diagnostic climatronic process, so can anyone confirm the code readout for that recirc flap/motor? Is the flap & motor 2 different items that have differing codes?
  8. Ok thanks for the advice folks. I wouldn't want my hamster to suddenly die, so how long do you think it would last before it finally pans it? Or is that a bit of a how long is a piece of string question? I'm pretty handy with a spanner so don't mind doing the swap / fix!
  9. Hi all Need help, I have a strange noise from passenger side under / behind the glove box area, and I can only describe it like a hamster building a little den or scrabbling around?? Car is a 2003 Octy VRS estate Thanks in advance
  10. I'm gonna get in on this thread before we move on. I have just got myself an Octy VRS estate (had it just over a week) and changed to this due to upcoming newborn. I also currently have an EP3 civic type r, stardard other than induction kit, had this car just over a year. Overall I can't agree more with Skinnyman. Civic out handles, out drags and def makes a far better noise. But....is noisy in the cabin, tiresome if you just want to potter to work / shops etc, and does take a bit more tlc overall, brakes are quite sensitive to keep running sweet. I used a phone app to chart my MPG, overall after 10k in a year, I averaged 30mpg. Not bad I thought! Now the Octy, love the torque, love the smooth & quietness compared, though the seats aren't as good as the type r, and love the build quality compared too, everything makes a nice thud. Before my civic I had a mk4 bora tdi for 4 years and generally not bad reliability. Hoping the Octy will be strong in this dept. but I never once worried the civic wouldn't start even if the rest of the car was tinny and plasticky! For an everyday car, I'm glad I have the VRS, easy to drive at regular speeds, will do everything I want I'm sure, but having already pushed it a little, I wanted to be in my civic. Octy was only 2/3 of the price to insure compared to type r, tax is even and parts look to be similar overall.
  11. Ok thanks folks, I will look into a DIY job with vinyl
  12. Hi all, Need some help in locating the black trim that covers B/C pillars on Octy VRS Estate. I got looking at another member on here (Rob's) red vrs estate, on his website http://www.pimpmyskoda.co.uk/ and he said he purchased them from Skoda as genuine OE options. I phoned my local Skoda stealers today and they have nothing listed for that part, so assumed they have discontinued them etc. Any info appreciated. cheers
