  1. I have a related problem on my 2007 VRS. The high temp light starts flashing after 5 minutes of driving and it seems to be using water. I filled it up to the top on Sunday (it took 1 litre to fill) and took it for a 1/2 drive, the temp guage stays on 90 degrees c throughout the journey but temp light flashes throughhout. On return I started undoing the cap on the filler and it started boiling over and steaming. Wasnt sure if that was normal after motorway drive on a coolish day? any thoughts or similar symptoms from anyone ?
  2. It was a quarter full of diesel and she filled it up with petrol. It stood for a week after her driving back from the garage (a few miles) and so when it was driven again I think the diesel being heavier and more dense would have been sitting at the bottom of the tank (where the inlet is) - it was driven a few times over very short distances following that before I drove it and realised it wasnt 100% and stopped immediately and siphed a few 100 mils out and could immediately smell the petrol.
  3. Hi, My wife accidentally put petrol into our 2007 Diesel Skoda Fabia VRS SE. Well long story short I drained all the petrol out and filled it with diesel and replaced the fuel filter. It was only driven a few miles with the mixed fuel. After taking it out for a run it has started cutting out at 3000 revs or so - Runs perfectly well up to that level. There are now also some warning lights that have appeared. (glowplug and exhaust system warning light) I have taken it to a mechanic and he reckons its the Crank Sensor that needs replacing. He has quoted 3 hours labour to fit it and part costs £40. So that a total of £240 Do any of you experts out there have a view of whether this is a fair cost and also whether the mixed fuel could result in this issue with the crank? He says he thinks the high pressure fuel filter and injectors are fine. Or anyone who has had this experience before and resolved it? Many thanks for your help
