  1. I have the tmc tuning box and the gains are a lot more than just 15hp, I would estimate around 135hp, taken it off twice recently and feels so sluggish without. I will get a print out soon and report back Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Yeah good call, I may get a dyno print out and see what I'm putting out now. Always been curious. Then go from there Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Hi guys, I have a monte 1.2 TSI Currently it is running a tuning box, been on for about a year now. Very happy with the power increase and the extra mpg I get. Changing the car isn't an option for around 18 months so I want a little more power. What would be the next step? I was thinking about a decat, new exhausts and induction kit. Would it be worth the expense and what extra bhp would I gain? Thanks Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  10. My old mans Leon fr tdi had petrol put in it and we had to drain the tank, I was shocked what was found in the tank on a car not even 3 years old. The water particles were the most obviously, quite a lot of them separated in there, looks like loads of little bubbles in the bottom and then tiny little bits of grit grime sat in the bottom of the fuel once drained. Best not to give an opinion if your not sure of the answer yourself, doesn't matter how new the car is, the fuel itself can carry contaminants and then grime and grit gets in from around the filler cap as you put the nozzle in, might not seem a lot but over a couple of years can mount to enough crap to be potential dangerous or at the very least a ball ache Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. Why would you ever want to put asda oil in your vrs? You have a relatively high perferomance car and the difference in price of oils is peanuts compared to the cost of possible repairs later on in life if the oil is not up to standard, I would personally leave well alone and buy the best, look around online and you can get good deals for the castrol every now and again, when you see a deal on buy a couple of bottles Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Yeah that's a fair point Brian, I'm 25 and I guess peoples opinions will be different depending on age also. Tbh for what we want the monte is plentiful I race motocross bikes at the weekend and have an R1 sat in the garage for the sunny days. So no car I can drive on the road can come close to the thrills of racing so it's about being practical for us (for now) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. IMO the monte looks so much nicer than the vrs, I have a van and me and the mrs have just brought one for here to use for work and for us at the weekends, we have it in the TECH Black spec 1.2 TSI and it looks stunning with the smoked lights and grill etc, the front looks so smart and has an aggressive look and stance, defiantly could have done with a little less arch gap though. I personally wanted a vrs for the power but the decision was made to go for the monte as it was a better looking car, wasn't keen on the DSG box, more practical for the mrs daily commute and I actually enjoyed driving the little 1.2 tsi after the test drive, felt a lot faster than I imagined and is returning high 40's mpg and seeing some low 50's within the first 1000 miles which is amazing. Everyone is entitled to there opinions, but I doubt you will get many vrs owners saying they wished they had a monte, if it was me I would be prepared to sacrifice the looks of the monte for the extra performance, the question that you have to ask is, had the vrs come in the same styling as the monte, would you have chosen that over the current style of the vrs? 14. Good advice. I will probably just stick with the box then and look into handling mods for now. I will defiantly look into get a dyno session booked as well Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
