  1. Haha, I know. Its just I have a 2260 sitting here, and a local guy that does rebuilds for me. I'm sure I see you mention a non PD manifold that can be used? Think I may be complicating things... I may just see what funds are saying and buy from you.
  2. What off the shelf manifold can be used to cut up and weld on a 2260 that will fit a ASZ engine? I'm sure I remember reading something that stated a certain early non PD manifold is used? Thanks
  3. I have a wanted thread up. Just seeing if anyone here has a spare cam.
  4. But while your all here - anyone got a TFSI inlet cam, or know where I can get a used one? Cheers
  5. Still haven't done it lads haha. Day off today so had some errands to run. I'll crack on this weekend
  6. While I've got your attention :P Anyone got a cheap Inlet cam?
  7. Thanks mate, I'm off tomorrow. Will get my telescopic magnet up under there
  8. Haha, I took the timing chain cover off to measure the phaser O ring's. Then wen't to put it back, left key on top of battery and dropped the bonnet! DOH!
  9. Haha, sorry mate! It was quite urgent - I was quite distressed when I realised what a numpty I was. Best thing to do was to scream for help! Wiki link gives the usual about prising the door open - I really dont fancy that. Feel free to PM me
  10. Pretty please - PM coming your way! Edit / DOH, PM box full!
  11. I think jacking it up and squeezing my two year old lad up into the engine bay would work? I'll have a play around with it later in the week, its a second car and engine is in bits at the moment anyway, so its not going anywhere.
  12. LOL, would you like pics to prove I own it? haha. Check my previous posts, I'm a (reasonably) credible member. And no, no spare or I'd be in it by now :(
  13. Some how, being a dib dob I wen't out to the car last night to grab something from under the bonnet and left my only key on the battery. I didn't realise until this morning (it was dark last night). Whats the easiest way in? Try and remove the grille and pop the bonnet? Its a 2006 Seat Leon. Thanks.
  14. Thanks mate, sent and replied to. Has anyone got a cam going cheap?
  15. Did the engine run ok otherwise - What was the symptoms? I think suffix J is the newest updated cam replacing the B, H is the S3 one. From what I've read it is fine to use, plenty of people have had no problems and they are all the same price. I'll pm you now about the parts mate. EDIT/ Tried to PM, your inbox is full I think?
  16. Anyone got old standard internals from HPFP after upgrading?
  17. Not a Skoda, but a Leon I have just purchased pretty cheap. I bought on the assumption it was a misfire at high revs, however, after stripping it down I found the following: Worn Cam lobe for fuel pump - Snapped bottom guide of tensioner - Plastic seals broken for Cam Phaser/Variator (whatever its called!) - Damned revision A cam - And the car in question, along side my barge - The cam follower for the HPFP was fine, so had been replaced recently before the car was shifted on to some numpty (me). The tip of the HPFP has worn ever so slightly, I will get pics tomorrow - hoping someone can advise if OK to reuse, or will need replacing, or if parts can be sourced separately for the pump? And, what is known about the Phaser wheel thing, I understand roughly how it works, with oil being passed through the 3 different galleries, and the plastic seals there to separate them, but would it be safe to use Some similar sized Viton O-Rings? Annddd, cheapest place to buy a new cam - I have read I can use the S3 cam, revised with hardened lobe for pump. But can it be bought anywhere other than VW/TPS? Anyone been in the same boat? Tony.
  18. Cheers chaps. My thoughts exactly - I doubt VW have tested it at all. And for me not worth the risk at all. It went back today, and I got 5l of the genuine stuff from TPS for £23 more. Not a lot for piece of mind.
  19. I think I'll be doing that. Not sure why I even bought it to be honest haha. Just was hoping that some others have used it with good results.
  20. Bought from ECP for the tidy sum of £43.19. Meets VW TL 052 182 (DSG except DQ400 and DQ500) It is around £25 cheaper than the stuff from TPS, and I have read numerous things about Triple QX being Shell rebottled and rebranded by ECP to save money on the CarLube stuff they used to sell. This was also confirmed by the chap behind the desk I purchased from. I'm sort of swaying towards taking it back and getting genuine stuff from TPS tomorrow, but as it's the price difference of a set of spark plugs, and meets a VW standard I'm in two minds. The VW standard it meets could be anything though, like colour or viscosity - I can't find any info on it. The DQ400 and DQ500 are the newer 7 speed boxes, so it isn't compatible with these, but as ECP don't have spec sheets for Triple QX oils, I am left in the dark... Has anyone used it?
  21. Hi, I have now sold the car to a very happy new owner. I am now driving a 2007 Leon FR TFSI - DSG - So basically the petrol VRS without a boot. I am pretty sure the dealers would have been instructed to change the bolts and I'd also guess the seals came with the new injectors too, however, who knows if they did? All I can say is from my experience, changing the seals, and bolts and torquing down to the correct spec of 3nm + ONE 270' turn worked for me If you've tried every other avenue, and are still scratching your head with a lumpy PD, its got to be worth a pop. Yes mine used to smoke intermittently at idle, and when smoking it used to smell strongly of unburnt diesel. It didn't cure the whistling turbo though unfortunately. I did some research, and it seems a lot of the PD's whine, so I left it as is.
