  1. Sorry to bump an old one! But has anyone found out what turbo is on the 245's? Thanks in advance!!
  2. Hi all. In the same boat as a lot of you, hopefully recieving mine in March. Though not confirmed yet. Does anyone know what turbo these run? Is it the same as the 230? Or is it the same as the Mk7 Golf clubsport. Thanks!
  3. Ah I see, funny because I did remember that my dads 2.0T A4 has TFSI printed on the engine cover... Learn something new everyday.
  4. Sk4gw - KwikFit prices matey. Again probably as incompetent as the side street garages, but its all about that receipt and warranty to some people The car didn't sell, but now this is really turning into me having a part in the sale of Robs car He is still selling it, as it turned into an eBay bid and no show. Out of curiosity, is a Skoda Octavia VRS not a TFSI? - Genuine question, and no sarcasm (from my part :P).
  5. Trying too hard? Im not trying to achieve anything. The information you have cleverly gleaned from the posts is that he is my brother in law and we are both trying to flog a dead horse on the Briskoda forum? The car is not for sale on this forum. Surely if your theory had any strength, I would not openly disclose my relationship to the seller and remain incognito? What do you think is wrong? - Is the car too cheap? Is there something on the photos that makes you think it could be a Corsa with a body kit? Are you still standing by the whole people do not grow thing? What is an acceptable amount of time in your opinion that one should keep a car in their ownership? Long enough that it depreciates enough so that he loses £x? Just a few questions, I find it difficult to understand your original post post with so little information to go on... Was it a hunch? Perhaps a gut feeling? Do you have a nose for these sorts of things? Its probably in my Brother in laws best interest that I don't pursue this and let the dust settle before he tries to sell his chariot of lies, deceit and death. Just to highlight again. The car is not for sale on here. A good buying guide is your bible and to buy a car without a structured set of routine questions is insane. People who do not - get stung - people who get stung tend to hurl unjust comments around forums. Top tip. If you havent got anything nice to say...
  6. LOL! I have had to register just to point out the laugh the last two CSI detectives conclusions gave me!!! @ Mdon - Genius! Think about this... a child grows. No seriously, babies, children, humans grow! Especially when they are young! So when I am sat in the passenger side and I feel something touch the back of my seat, turn to my brother in law and laugh at how it only seems like yesterday that his daughter was the size of a bag of sugar and now she can reach the seat in front with her feet - he must have the only child that grows perhaps... A larger car required for his growing family because as I hope I have shed some light on - his kids are growing as I type this. Fuel, the more fuel you use, the less money you have in your bank account/wallet. Decisions, sometimes we make bad ones based on experience. In this instance, hes bought a car, run it for six months and decided its costing more to run that anticipated and he could do with some more space in the back seats and boot. So in summary hes changing his car based on his growing family - if he did not have any kids I am sure the choice to sell would not have come so early. Furthermore, is this not a Skoda enthusiast forum? So surely if you were to consider buying this car and you are from this forum, you would already have a good idea of what to look for. So to have something "seriously wrong" would that not be easy to spot? As mentioned there is a wheel wobble at 70 - 80 mph. This is correctly diagnosed as a wheel balancing issue that was rectified for the record for the massive sum of £38 by professionals. My brother in law is not the sort of person to opt for a side street £15 wheel balance, that receipt and warranty is the piece of mind he needs. This isnt a rant like i said, its genuinely made me laugh to see what can put some people off a car. That slight wobble to him is a point that he really needs to mention - how many times have you gone to buy a car that had a slight wobble due to the same issue, or the odd scratch/dent/stain that was not mentioned in the original advert? The seller is quite anal in my opinion and the comments on here were probably made by people with the same anal attitude but in the case of the two comments clearly uneducated. In summary. Man up, its a sub 4k car that has been looked after by a clean freak. The only issues that car has are honest. I would be more concerned that it looks like a massive woodlouse. Cheers!
