  1. The PID says 80 but I think that's probably about 75 in real life, my normal commute MPG is 62 (PID) or 58 (real) driving at 70/75 on the motorway when possible. i slowed it down to 60mph because the PID said I had 30 miles of range and I wanted to get to the station 45miles away and because, well, I was bored!
  2. Say hi to the M25 at rush hour! Nah, but i drove especially slow today crusing at about 60mph where I normally go 70/75mph. That's not even the whole commute either! It's 60 miles each way usually taking 1:20 - 1:40 each way every day. That's why my new car is electric, I was spending pretty much £200 a month on fuel so it made a lot of sense to switch.
  3. http://i.imgur.com/JXjjBGUh.jpg 2 years, 40k miles and 0 problems. This car cost pennies to run and never put a step wrong, my only regret is not speccing cruise control! At least it's going to a good home, I'm handing it off to my parents.
  4. Hey everyone, My Citigo has been playing up a bit recently, after leaving it parked for some time (say during work or over night) when I go to take off again it behaves as if the brakes are on. That's the full fat pedal brakes, not a handbrake as it barely wants to move. I have to really throttle it up for 10-15 seconds and just sort of hope it "breaks free" after which it runs fine but I can smell a little burning brakes afterwards. My theory is that maybe the Hill Hold assist isn't disengaging properly for some reason, any thoughts? The car has run in quite a bit - I've got nearly 30k on it in 18 months, that's more than most I guess so it might be something to look out for.
  5. The other half has been driving the car and said that the windscreen washers were empty, I filled it to the top which I thought was strange since it only took about 1L and went on my way. The next day she tells me it's still empty, so I look under the bonnet and the washer level is full. So I try out the washers and nothing happens. There is no 'pumping' noise either! Any idea what the problem is? I thought it would be something to do with the weather but any blockages would have thawed by now. Do you think the pump might be broken?
  6. Uhhhh, are you sure you're driving in 5th! Seriously though, at 70 mph you should be getting back around 48mpg cruising, what does the fuel guage tell you. It may just be an issue with the PID - maybe giv it a reset? If that doesn't help or if the fuel really is being drunk like that it sounds like a problem.
  7. I had the same problem when I first gt the car but it's fixed itself with some mileage on the clock (at 8500 right now). I've still got a sticky reverse sometimes but a lot less than it used to be, so don't worry about it. I know it's a minor pain but it'll fix itself sooner or later!
  8. Sony are generally good with Bluetooth support for their phones. You are correct in that Android 4.4 Kit Kat now contains support for the MAP (Message Access Profile) Bluetooth profile. Although Sony's official listing for the Xperia T doesn't say it supports MAP the listing for the SP, which is very similar to the T, does. If - and that's a big if - your phone gets updated to Kit Kat and you previously did not have MAP it should work now. For Nexus 4 owners for example so malcster it should be working on your wifes and your phone. My SO has a Nexus 5 and in her car (Merc SLK) she can read texts on the screen fine - haven't tried it on the Citigo yet. Some phones, such as the HTC One, already had MAP support before the Kit Kat update even. As for Damo, so did the S3 however their was known to be buggy Bluetooth software released and Samsung promised an update but that will probably not come.
  9. You think that's good, how about this! Sorry for the bad photo quality! This was me coming back from my normal commute the other day. Traffic was a little heavier than usual so I decided to cruise around 60 on the motorway. (BTW I have a 75PS Greentech Elegance). I also pumped up the tyres the day before and the odd bit of coasting with the clutch down/car in gear if the in-town roads were clear. If you can't read it it says 73.8, It was 76.something when I got home but I forgot to get milk so I had to go back out to the supermarket. And yes, I know I need to fill up. I guess I still haven't learned my lesson! I think you can fill it up to a maximum of about 37L - or ~£47.25 where I live. Giving me a theoretical maximum range of 600 miles! And 7.9p/mile.
  10. A couple of days ago I took it out on a little road trip, a mixture of in town driving, B roads, motorways, in-city driving and all back. The total trip length was about 350 miles so I had a good chance for the PID to get a reasonable MPG average of 51, I tend to drive quite "fast" on the motorway I was driving home and I was low on fuel, 15 miles left according to the PID. So I let the PID chose a station for me. Great it's only 2 mile away, but it wasn't... Long story short, I selected 3 different stations in the PID menu all of which didn't exist. By now my PID was saying I had 0 miles left so I decided that I'm just going to point it to the only petrol station I know exists here, a nearby service station. This nearby service station turned out to be 20 miles away! So me panicking. am now driving on the motorway with the heating and heated seats off (it's freezing outside) the AC off (the windows are starting to mist up) even the radio and PID were off and I'm travelling at such a speed that lorries are overtaking me. Finally I arrive at the service station and I fill it up to the top I look back at my trip meter and it says I've gone 25 miles since it said I only had 0 left! I know manufacturers tend to underestimate these things so you never run out the engine but this might be of help to someone. The main lesson to take away from this is... don't trust the petrol station list in the PID, it's probably wrong!
  11. I recently just got my Citigo and can't help but notice that the radio reception is very poor on it. If I go to even a slightly built up area, for instance down the high street with 2/3 storey buildings on either side the radio reception starts to get a little crackly. This is all in areas where I've never had any problem before. The speakers on the Citigo themselves aren't the greatest but there is a noticeable clarity difference between this and my Golf Mk VI. Is there perhaps some setting I'm missing in the PID or something or is this just one of the corners that have to be cut to keep the price competitive. if it is not a fault or can't be fixed with some software meddling is there anything, other than buying an external DAB receiver type device, I can mod onto it to fix it? Like a better aerial.
  12. Yeah! Finally got it a couple of days ago - on Saturday. Went on a wee road trip first thing and got a bit carried away - I've already got 200 on the clock, doh! I'll post the timeline of my order in case that helps anyone else. Order - Week 33 (estimated lead time "8 - 10 weeks") Initial build date - Week 42 (date deferred) Actual build date - Week 45 Leave factory - Week 45 (1 day later) Arrive at port - Week 46 (Port at Emden, Germany) Arrive at UK port - Week 48 Arrive at dealer - Week 48 (3 days later) Transferred to collection dealer - Week 48 (1 day later) Collected from dealer - Week 48 (1 day later) Total lead time 15 weeks exactly, to the day. So here's a handy little way to see the approximate date you can maybe expect the car, if you order one today! A couple of things I'd like to say as well, the dealer said initially when I ordered the car that he'd send me a list of possible number plates. I never actually got the option but don't really mind. JUst a heads up. Also, the dealer never gave any update on the order unless I pestered him so I strongly suggest you email them every week or at least every other week just to keep them on their toes. The car also came with a little bag of engine oil in the boot, no carpets through but I just paid the £30 for them. Couldn't be bothered haggling in the morning! And also half a talk of fuel, and 25 on the clock. Normal for a new car. Doesn't have a tax disc though... he assured me one is in the post and it's OK to drive in the mean time. And for anyone who wants the SAFE system activated on their Citigo, where it auto locks and unlocks when driving off and taking out the ignition, I just emailed them 2 days before the collection date to activate it. It didn't cause any delays. looking back on it I guess if the build date wasn't deferred 3 weeks and the car didn't sit in the port for 2 weeks the 8 - 10 wouldn't actually be far off.
  13. Oh no! I hope mines doesn't turn out the same. I ordered an Elegance 75 Greentech in White back in Week 33. I had an lead time quoted as 8 - 10 weeks. The dealer never contacted me with the progress on anything unless I told him first. After I asked him on build dates he came back with the initial build date as Week 42, it got to Week 44 I contacted him again to confirm if it is built and then he told me it had been pushed back to Week 45! Luckily, he told me the on Tuesday of Week 45 that the car had been built and left the port for delivery. A week later at Week 46 he said it is in Germany waiting to be delivered, this was last week. I asked him today and it is still in Germany. It's been sitting there for a week. He hopes that it will leave for the UK this week, he said even once that does happen it'll be at least a week before it reaches the dealer and then a few more days before I collect. I'm done being optimistic and I assume the worst, leave for the UK - from Germany - probably late next week. 2 weeks of trucking around the country as Leon-y-k suggests then a few more days to collect. I suspect Week 50 at the earliest. :( Thats a 17 week lead time! Also, just like to say I've been lurking here for the last couple of months since ordering my car. You all look like a great bunch of guys & gals. Don't put me on the register just yet though Damo! At this rate I'm almost doubting I'm ever going to actually get it!
