Air con working but not coming out of vents (anywhere)
Right I am not sure but I may have found a theme. Climate worked today after I pulled the cabin filter (which was filthy btw- so thanks for the tip there), I drove 20 miles to Aberdeen, everything was great then I reversed into the parking space and the flaps closed again, only blowing hot air. Switch engine off, come back after 30 minutes and its working again. It's just done the same thing again. So, the only thing that's new is a reversing camera that was pre-programmed from Ali Baba and fitted thanks to Sasha's excellent instructions, although it has worked brilliantly for a year or so now, I wonder if that is the culprit somehow, maybe sending a rogue signal when reverse is applied.... Trouble is, I can't unplug it without the rear handle stopping working as it's integrated 😞... The saga continues...

Air con working but not coming out of vents (anywhere)
Thanks everyone, I think the refrigerant is okay, but that's one thing I'll keep an eye on. I can't believe I didn't think of the cabin filter. I took it out (in about a minute!) And it is pretty filthy...so the full service history doesn't included cabin filters I see.. There's a new one coming tomorrow, then I will feed back if it had helped. Thanks everyone.

Air con working but not coming out of vents (anywhere)
Hi all, Mk 3.5 VRS and just outside of its 3 year warranty (typical). I haven't got any working aircon coming out of the vents. I can tell it's working as the vents themselves are freezing cold as normal, just no blast of icy chilled air. The vents work exactly as expected when I switch the aircon off, but obviously the air is warmer, all presets work and air comes out as expected. As soon as I press the aircon button, I hear the vents turning, then it feels like they are blocked completely for some reason. It's a strange feeling but you can almost sense the air is being jammed in the dashboard (and I know how ridiculous that sounds). I've reset the vents (a lot!) using the two button trick on the climate controls and there are no messages on the dash saying there is an issue. Does anyone have any ideas before I have to pay the local Aberdeen prices for getting it fixed??? or the £120 the local dealers charge just to look at the car. thanks

Fitted a reversing cam to 2018 vrs.
The airbag connector is the one behind the keyslot that turns the passenger airbag on and off in the glovebox. I removed it so I could move the glovebox around for access to the back of the stereo, wish I hadn't! I routed the cabling down the side to the passengers kickplates, then back up to the roof in the 'C' pillar. Through the existing rubber cable cover to the bootlid (I had to cut a slot in it and then fish a line through to pull it through.

All the cabling was in the pack, basically an extension cable that fits in the place of the existing connector. There was no other power connection required which is unusual for an aftermarket camera. Just come back home after a meal and it is really clear at night as well. You also get a set of stereo removal keys but as I mentioned before, you don't really need to remove the stereo, more the glovebox surround, just.remeber not to remove the airbag connector unless you really have to (or have a VCDS)

Fitted a reversing cam to 2018 vrs.
Thanks for that, the perils of uploading on my tablet.... here is the correct link to the one I bought... I can't seem to edit my original post. https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4000230897829.html?spm=2114.12010615.8148356.8.22e4579a6sozlo If it helps, I had to fish for the connection through the wiring connection running from the roof to the bootlid. it was pretty difficult and getting the handle out of the boot was a bit of a pig.... If you ever get to doing it, get in touch and I will help if I can.

Hi all, just thought I’d give some feedback on the reverse camera that was recommended in one of the previous links, I think it was by @SashaGrace. Camera came from here. https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4000231150991.html it arrived in 5 days and fitted quickly, I didn’t need to do any further programming to my amundsen, and power is from the adapter that came in the box (no other connections/splicing required). As others have mentioned, I had a struggle getting the length of cable behind the main stereo box, so found it was easier to just remove the glovebox, then the 6 screws surrounding the glovebox and take the whole frame out. Stupidly I disconnected the airbag on/off switch so now have the airbag light but that’s another story... This has been the best £35 I’ve ever spent, so thanks Sasha for the recommendation. This car really fights you all the way when removing trim, how you’ve not gone insane removing the trim of your car over the years I will ever know!
