  1. I'm curious about the upgrade for fog lights in my FL Elegance. It seems strange to have the "old warm" bulb fog lights along with the lovely xenons. Is there a bulb, I could swap, like for like, to make the front fogs "white", yet road legal? Cheers

    Yeti Ordered

The no MOT bit is a bit scary. There are many irresponsible people around. Paying less is great though.
  3. Don't spoil it for them. They will enjoy it anyway.
  4. TomTom's HD traffic is the most important part of a good satnav. I can not understand why car makers don't include their system in the cars because it is by far the best product. I don't like the feel of TomTom, but the traffic info is what it's about. I've been using it for about three years now and I reckon I must have saved days and days for not sitting in traffic.
  5. We are picking our new Yeti tomorrow. Ordered in early November.
  6. Good news. The Yeti had arrived at the dealers. I'll be collecting on 1 March with a new 14 plate. Thank you for the advice.
  7. Thank you for taking the time to respond. £500 is worth a week's wait, so might as well do it. It was a build week 6.
  8. I had a call from the dealer telling that the new elegance greenline in jungle green is on the way to me. Finally! Can't wait to replace my roomster, which served me well, but it's time for a little bit more comfort. Anyway, would you please explain to me what is the benefit of waiting for the 14 plate? Thank you.
  9. This is very much a wide spread problem here in the UK. It includes most other retailers. The service we get nowadays is poor if any. I reckon it has a lot to do with large business and line of responsibility. The bottom line is that as a customer, one is pretty much screwed. The only chance out of it are small family run businesses where it actually matters to the guy whether you are happy or not.
  10. Well, I had a phone call today saying that there is still no build week for mine, about a month after ordering it. I was told that Skoda increased the lead time to 16 weeks from 12 on new Yeti. I finally felt looked after though, as the lady actually made an affort to find out with Skoda UK what was the deal. This all means about another 11 weeks to go. Will see.
  11. Cornering fogs are on many different car makes nowadays. This is exactly why I have close to no respect for the cops. They waste our time when we don't need them. When we do, they are nowhere to be found.
  12. That is just wrong. I can't believe they run such a bad operation! I wonder whether this is just SkodaUK. I will do some digging over the Christmas, I know of plenty of people working for Skoda. Good luck with whatever you are getting. On a different note, I hope they will not do the same to me.
  13. Great, I'm happy to hear that the new Yeti made it over the pond. I just had a call from the dealer saying there isn't a build week for mine yet at all. Ordered 3 weeks ago.
  14. Thank you very much for taking the time help me.
  15. It must be from the new Hippy trim
  16. Hi there, I've been reading a lot on these forums and I must say I've learnt a lot. There is a wealth of useful info available. Thanks for that guys! I am stilled puzzled over few details and would love to hear from you... I ordered the FL Yeti on 16 November 2013. I had an idea about what I wanted on it at the time and I am quite happy with the way I specified it. However, with passing time, I am beginning to think that I might have missed few bits. This is what I ordered http://cc-cloud.skoda-auto.com/CarCard/47557806 I really like the idea of larger engine and 4x4, but truth to be told, living in London, I also appreciate the economy side of things. My Rooster Scout with the same engine serves me well and it is nice to drive. I hope for the Yeti to feel about the same with a little bit more comfort. I am slightly concerned about the additional weight, but I am pretty much set on the engine. Now, lets hit the questions. By the way, I had searched for answers, so please don't advise me to it again. Cheers. 1. Bolero and DAB - My Yeti comes with Bolero. I'd like a DAB, but I refuse to spend more on upgrading it for a Satnav, which I find inferior to my TomTom with HD traffic. I wonder, does the new FL Yeti Bolero come with DAB? I know the older one hadn't. However, I downloaded a Bolero manual, possibly from Octavia, which clearly includes DAB. I asked the dealer and was told "No". The thing is, I don't really have a huge deal of trust in their knowledge, since I knew more than them about what is and isn't included at the time of order. It would be nice to have, but it isn't essential. What do you think, is it there or not? 2. MDI - This one is where I am pretty lost. I use an iPhone and I believe one can pair it via Bluetooth to payback the music content. What benefit is there in the MDI? I mostly just listen to the LBC radio and I guess that I would be happy for my phone it to work as with any "Airplay" device, controlling the playback on my phone. A steering wheel control would be nice, but not essential. Could you please explain to me what is it that I would gain, please? 3. Electrically adjustable drivers seat - I will share the car with my darling wife, unless of course, she gets her own car I am beginning to think that being able to store our settings for the seat position and the mirrors would be nice. The question is, does it really work that well? Is it worth the expense? I also wonder whether it works with Kessy and sets its self up depending on who enters the car? I also like the idea of the dimming mirror on the drivers side. Is it effective? 4. Parking Assist - I configured the monster with the front and rear sensors. Since I am likely to make a change to my order, I am also considering the upgrade to Park Assist. Do I understand it correctly, that I does have the same function as the Front and Rear sensors? In other words, could I use it the same way? I'd hope so. Also, how often do you find your selves to let the car park for you? I like the sound of it, but is it worth the expense? I am not sure.. 5. Alcantara upholstery - Most of my previous cars had a full leather, which I liked thanks to easy maintenance. I run a construction business and I can get a little dirty visiting the building sites every so often. I am getting worried about Alcantara getting ruined. I am thinking about a seat cover for such times, as I really prefer the soft feel of the Alcantara for all the other times. I read numerous post saying that it works well for many, but I wonder, is there anyone in similar situation to me? 6. Missing anything? - I reckon that I asked all what was on my mind. Is there anything I missed? I appreciate that it is all very subjective, but I put a huge value on other people's experience. Thanks a lot for any help. Can't wait to get my build week.......
  17. Junglee Green, Outdoor, Greenline in Elegance trim with a few added extras. Ordered on Saturday 16 November, dealer entered the order to their system on Tuesday 19 November. I just had a call today saying that whilst on the system, no allocation for a build week yet. I must say that ordering it was a pain! The dealer had limited information, which was outright misleading. I actually worked out that they made several errors with the order after crosschecking it with the online tools and the brochure. I am glad for my mild OCD. It proves to be useful every now and then. I can't even begin to imagine how p*ssed off I would have been had I not found out. I find it outrageous that the dealer try to sell vehicles they know nothing about. How is it, that after spending a little time with what was available online, I knew more then them?! Anyway, I hope to get a build week soon. Rant over.
  18. Hi all, I wanted to introduce my self. I've been luring about the forum for a while now. Plenty of useful info, cheers! I live in London, currently drive a 1.6 Diesel Roomster Scout which I love and have a new Greenline Outdoor on order. I'm czech by origin and funnily enough, parts of my family are involved in working for Skoda one way or another. Can't wait for the new motor to arrive.... It's the first time I registered on a car forum, I look forward to chatting with you lot. Cheers Tomas
