  1. NEW vRS LAUNCH FOR GOODWOOD (According to the Octy vRS page on Facebook):
  2. Yes, that struck me as odd. If I remember correctly, there was no choice between Octy and Octy vRS which is a much bigger difference than estate v. non-estate.
  3. Posted by WHICH? magazine on 07 March 2013 We've pulled together all the results of the 2012 Which? Car Survey and can reveal the Top 10 cars, as voted for by over 39,000 UK drivers, for owner satisfaction. Not much you can add to that, right? :sun: http://www.which.co.uk/news/2013/03/top-10-best-cars-to-own-312943/?cmp=emmembers_pref
  4. One of those areas where the Old Bill don't get a vRS to play with for fast pursuit, but are stuck with Vauxhalls? Jealousy. They always seem to give me unfriendly looks but maybe I'm paranoid. Blow the buggers a kiss? :sun:
  5. Which magazine gives rave reviews

  6. Never mind. Looks like you have to be a FB follower for access to Skoda UK and Octy VRS pages. It's not rocket science; think of it as sports mode.
  7. This URL is the Skoda UK FB page. AFAIK it's a "public page" meaning anyone can see the pics. Can you not access it?
  8. When I bought my vRS, the Autoglym lifeshine package http://www.autoglym.com/engb/lifeshine.asp was part of the deal. (No, of course the cost of it had not been calculated in. :sun: https://www.facebook.com/autoglym) A guy I know who has his own valeting business exclusively uses their kit and swears by it. The package include various alloy care products. I even have their dedicated bird**** wipes in my glove compartment. I don't see this as an anorak approach, but rather a practical one. Keep the car washed reasonably often (HAND NOT MACHINE!) and two coats of this polish annually should keep fluid bouncing off enough for practical and sensible purposes. More often of course if you are a RSM in the Brigade of Guards.
  9. After not having been able to drive for over one year she demanded a new car. I said there was no need for a new goddamn anything, (but was prepared to get her whatever she wanted for specific reasons). I added in honesty there was no need to trade in our trusty old low-mileage standard Octy (until I went shopping, that is).... Her first drive in the new one was today (first drive after 2.5.years), now that her leg muscles have recovered enough after chemo.
  10. They kept her in for a week or so while I was away. Diagnosis? Software update required... Sounds odd, but I'm not complaining until the bugger starts screaming again.
  11. My siren started misbehaving at odd times of the day/night about 1 year ago. I took the car back to the garage, who "reduced the sensitivity". It started again and they reduced it further. After a few months it chipped in again at random and I went ballistic. This time, they completely replaced the siren. Just recently, it has started again It's been booked in for rectification and if that doesn't work.... My neighbours (notably the furiously-glaring early-retirement path-sweeper next door) seem to be deeply disturbed and think that my Octy 2 vRS is a sack of ****. Totally ungood: it's the only decent set of wheels on street view hereabouts and would chew the balls off any of their sad jalopies anytime. I wonder whether anyone else has had this problem or it's a one-off; deep within the onboard electronics?
  12. Couldn't agree more. I brightened up the drab interior of my first standard Octy with an imitation walnut kit (not everyone's taste) which did the trick. http://www.tuning-in.eu/interior-decors-skoda-octavia-ii-wood-look-climatronic.html However: something like that would be well out of place in a vRS. And what's all this about more power from some readers??? 200 PS not enough? :strong: Why not get it remapped, lower the suspension further and fit an Asian sound system, innit?
