  1. Just back from the Garage, went to local Skoda Dealer, was in and out in an hour. They told me they had similar issues with Skoda Rapid, but not seen any issues with octavia. They have made small cut out the door seal, I asked for photo to be sent to me. They take photos for warranty purposes. I am hoping I shouldn't have anymore issues now - fingers crossed.
  2. Thanks for your replies, my front doors seem to be ok, it was just that one door which was holding water. My car booked in on Tuesday. Seems silly design though the rubber seals cover the holes in the bottom of the doors, so cant see how the water can escape!
  3. Not the start to the morning I wanted, water sloshing sound coming from rear of my 3 month old Octavia VRS. Managed to find it was coming from passenger rear door. Called the dealer, car is going in next Tuesday under warranty. They told me they had similar issues on Fabia due to a door seal and it was quick fix, but not had any my model in, not sure if they where not admitting to it. Managed to open the door and moved the seal underneath the door and about half pint water poured out, not sure if its something blocking the holes on the door that has kept water in from draining out. We have had some crazy rain up Scotland recently and never had back doors open for a while. Thankfully it only seems to be the 1 back door. I am just more anxious than ever as my last car Skoda Superb was plagued by water ingress issues. Anyone else had this issue?
  4. hi BJM thanks for reply, found this earlier on eBay I dont know enough about it, my car knowledge is minimal to say the least http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Skoda-superb-octavia-2-0-tdi-oil-pump-balance-shaft-exchange-gear-perfect-/191525766323?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item2c97d344b3 fitting something like this, could this help from issue occuring?
  5. Thanks Jimbof, ill try and find some more information on the guides for looking into the pump. Not sure my mate is overly keen on doing the job just now, as I dont think its most straightforward thing to get in about, he said going to keep eye on car and look into the pump issue more. Its just bit annoying you dont seem to be able to just replace a part and thats it fixed.
  6. Hi Guys Thanks for your replies. I was gutted with Turbo failing esp at only 47k miles and its now put fear in my head, but I was very lucky, got mate who is pretty handy and sorted the lot including new turbo for £390 including doing all oil and filters again and sorting flexi. He was concerned about Turbo failing so early. The only two other parts, which sprung up where. 1. The flexi between the turbo and the cat, was leaking emissions, with some graft and new flexi and some welding this was managed to be repaired without having to replace the whole cat. 2. During the oil flush, my mate was bit concerned the quality oil and how dirty the oil filter was. It was done at a garage last May, and pretty confident it was done. So mate who did this work, going to check again in 2 to 3 months and see the quality of oil and filter again. I had only done 4k miles since last oil change last year. The only way I knew turbo was on its way out was when accelerating at 40-60mph was getting squeal, we thought was brakes at first until we got noise when car sat not moving. My mate said it might have gone on another year or two, without any issues but recommending replacing before it broke. But issue got is not sure what made turbo go, could it be oil pump on way out, I just don’t know but got the fear. But cars paid for, cracking looking motor, really well kept. I just don’t know what to do. I don’t have much spare cash to through at another motor, time got so much less for trade in on Skoda, not even had it 2yrs.
  7. Hi Looking for a bit advice. I own a 2008 mk1 skoda superb 2.0 tdi pd, 48k on the clock. In the last week I just had to replace the turbo, the source of the problem still not known. I really loved the car before this happnd, had for nearly 2 years. But now im really concerned after reading about oil pump issues and the huge repair bills with this particular engine. My question is, I have read so many different posts, do all 2.0 tdi on my year of car get this issue? Is any way I can check? I just dont know whether to sell now while its running or keep the car, I would prefer to keep it if i can as its bought and paid for and in great condition. Any help or advice be great.
  8. so jimbof, as long as alarm and central locking seems to be working ok, the fact that little led bulb not flashing and deadlocks not working, shouldnt be something to worry about? my car did have early signs of water ingress, but all fixed now, you think might just be a faulty wire?
  9. ok guys, thanks for replies, tried locking car and opening from inside, if pull to unlock from inside, my door pin pops up, pull again door opens and alarm goes off when lock car, my indicators do flash, but seems my deadlocks not working is this related to seperate wire? as my central locking/alarm seems to be working
  10. my car currently 1 click on lock, all doors lock, no light on door flashing 2 click on lock, all doors keep locked my door opens no light on door flashing 1 click to open, my drivers door open 2 click to open, rest of doors open any way to test if deadlocks are enabling without the light flashing?
  11. thanks for reply, ill try that tonight, so to enable deadlocks is it just one click? think click twice on my keyfob to lock, first one locks it, second opens drivers door
  12. thanks for your reply, know door trim panel has not been taken off, but ill get this looked into further maybe by someone more auto spark than my mechanic so are you thinking because this is not flashing the alarm itself probably is not being enabled? anyway to check this?
  13. hey jimbof thanks for reply my indicators are flashing when locking car, as you can see above got my bonnect catch replaced, and water ingress issue fixed (early signs of water in car not much) during this work my central locking stopped working, keyfob was only opening my door, but my mechanic cleared an error which came up and reset it and central locking working ok now, but the led is not flashing, the light inside car is still flashing could it be the bulb itself?
  14. Hi Ok finally getting to the bottom of issue with car, what a week! Local Skoda dealer tried to take the pi** but wont go into that. They found it to be the bonnet catch which was faulty this was replaced. After run in with the garage got them to do no further work on the car and took it to my local guy who has since sorted the water ingress issue which was found on my car, very early signs of it, so fingers crossed, caught it in time. My local guy has replaced the seal around the pollen filter and also checked all the other parts. He also managed to sort a central locking issue which never noticed until got car back on friday from Skoda, keyfob was only opening my door no others. My local guy seems to have fixed this... but The only 1 thing thats not fixed now, is the light on drivers door is not flashing, cant for the life of me remeber if it used to flash but sure it did any ideas?
  15. thanks for your advice, ill need to pass this on to either garage or someone else if decide not to get them to do it, most of what you have just said above has went right over my head, im hoping that ive caught the problem earlier, and it can be resolved wihtout much cost, as the only issue ive had is this bonnet showing as being open and bit condensation inside window when wet/cold, just hoping they dont find more issues when they look into it
