I ain't technically capable of all this, but I can wiggle a fuse. I'll get my friend to have another look and show him this thread. Thanks for the help.
-
My friend suggested the starter motor. I'll go now and have a quick look at the fuses. Cheers

So that leaves the ignition switch, so that should be the first port of call do you think?

Is there any way to reset the immobiliser that won't cost me a fortune as I'm broke at the moment
-
Just tried the spare key, but it didn't work, good shout still. I've just spent the last 5 minutes trying to get it started and one thing I noticed was that I couldn't hear the usual fuel pump noise when turning the key, then after 20 or so attempts I heard the fuel and it started.
-
Good shout. Car's a manual.

I haven't got a clue about recoding the vehicle, wasn't aware this type of thing was even required when changing a battery. But then the last time I properly worked on a car myself, was our old 1980 Mini Clubman Estate. Where would I start or is it something that needs to be done by a technician? Previous battery was also AGM. The dash lights and headlights don't dim when I try to start the car.

Hi xman. My friend checked the battery and it's fully charged, the car has stop start but the first thing I did when this problem started was switch it off.
-
I'm now having the same problem as Chris, exactly as he described it.

That's a good call, one of my friends suggested the same, so I'll start there. Car's done 160k so I might need to start a check list.

Hi all. Got a problem with my 13 plate 1.6 greenline. Ignition comes on but it won't crank first time, but if I try it a couple of times, then leave it for 10 minutes or so, it starts but I have to keep the key turned in the ignition for 5/10 seconds before it cranks, feels a bit like it's thinking about whether it wants to start or not. Once started the problem disappears, but then returns again when the cars not used for a day or two. Fitted a new Bosch S5A08 - 70A/H - 760A - Agm 12 months ago and it's fully charged and working fine. Any help or advice would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Update: Still no errors. My car is a 13 plate.
-
Thanks for the heads up, I'll keep an eye on that. I've driven the car for approximately 6/7 hours with the lights on, so far so good.
-
No worries mate. Drove the car for an hour or so yesterday night with no problems. But as you say, time will tell.

Just fitted these this afternoon https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B004V3BF9M/ref=mp_s_a_1_8?ie=UTF8&qid=1517433310&sr=8-8&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_FMwebp_QL65&keywords=UltraVision&dpPl=1&dpID=41V3ShLdUvL&ref=plSrch So far so good, no errors and nice and bright.

LED Bulb Upgrades for Superb II
Dadscab replied to nczernus's topic in Skoda Superb Mk II (2008-2015)
I want to replace the 501 parking bulbs on my 13 plate, is there an led straight swap available, that's error free? -
Yeah I think your right, still it's better than the £200+ one I thought I'd have to buy.

Agm batteries for stop start vehicles
Dadscab replied to mike4scuba's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
Did you manage to get a replacement battery? Mines on it's way out (varta agm 7P0 915 105 68ah) and I need to get a replacement but £200+ was a shock to the system. But I'll have to shell out if there's no other option. My car is a MK ll Superb 13 plate Stop/Start. Any advice much appreciated. Cheers. -
Yeah sorry I should have mentioned that it was stop/start but tbh I was completely unaware that it needed a stop/start battery until today "doh" This is the battery that's in it at the moment "varta 7P0 915 105 68 ah" But I think it might be discontinued or varta have changed the product code for it as I can't find it anywhere, this is so confusing. Hi guy's. I've got a MK II 1.6 Greenline on a 13 plate, can anybody tell me if this battery (Varta E44) would be ok and fit my car? We've just had our first cold spell this morning and the car had a bit of a struggle and also strangely reset all of the vehicle settings back to factory. I phoned the dealer and they said that it was 99% sure that it would be the battery, considering it's still the original battery it hasn't done to bad.

Sounds good I might give that a go, cheers.

Yeah, mine was a bit iffy in Oxford City Centre, but worked great once we got home.
-
Just picked it up, plugged it in (used with a 1 meter jack cable) and it picked up 27 stations £18 well spent. I ran the cable out of the centre armrest pocket, down the side of the driver's seat and placed the unit just in front of the driver's seat rails.
