1.8TSI and 2.0TSI engine failures
bwulfsport replied to DGW's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
No the warranty was out 10 months ago on mine I was quite persistent in chasing them though. They have also provided me with a courtesy car free of charge until my car is fixed. -

Just heard back from Skoda today and they have offered to pay 100% of the cost of the new engine and 30% of labour leaving me with £940.80 to pay which I think is very reasonable of them. Has anybody else who has had the engine replaced had any trouble with the car after? I am thinking is it time to trade it in also will the new engine they fit be liable to have the same fault or have they sorted it now. It has made me a bit paranoid now lol. -

I have a 2011 Petrol Skoda Octavia VRS with 34,000 miles on the clock with full Skoda service History. I went to start the car on Sunday and when I turned the key it nearly started then made an strange noise from the engine and then would not start after that, I got the car recovered to my local Skoda dealer who also services the car although I brought from a car garage (not Skoda) about 2 years ago so after 3 days of not getting back to me they have now told me today that the timing is massively out and that I need a new engine! They did say that this was nothing I have done and that they are going to ask Skoda for a contribution so I will just have to wait and see. -
Summer tyre storage Skoda
bwulfsport replied to bwulfsport's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
After getting a shock of having to pay £120 I have phoned my local Skoda branch and after much confusion about storage prices if any they have told me that the first year storage is free although they was not very convincing and I think it's more likely they messed up not asking me if I wanted them storing and they have just footed the bill or I will get an over inflated bill in the summer when they change them back. Looks like it will just have to wait and see anyway. -
I have just had 4 winter tyres (225 40 R18 Continental Winter Contact TS830 P) fitted at my local Skoda dealer which cost £585 but when I collected my car I was surprised that my summer tyres where no where to be seen and was told that they have gone to a tyre hotel. I was wondering if anyone else has had this and do you have to pay for storage when you come to get the summer tyres put back on. They did not mention anything about price and it also did not say anything about tyre storage on my bill I am a bit worried that I will come to change my tyres back and they will say what tyres or give me a tyre storage bill when I could have just put them in my garage.
