  1. Check again.... I mention ebay where exactly?
  2. NO PM's PLEASE, I CAN'T SELL ON HERE. Car is going Tuesday, it will still have the RARB fitted. Whoever I offended with my offer of someone removing the RARB and taking it away at a very cheap price (£40 would have been top price), please take a bow and maybe let the member from Blackpool know it was you that caused him to lose out. In the strictest of terms yes it was selling, and I'm not freedom, but actually all I was trying to do was give people a chance to pick up a 3 month old upgrade that I didn't want possibly going to waste... Rules is rules, I've had my ticking off, and someone has a self satisfying grin somewhere. I will no longer own a Skoda so goodbye folks and thanks to those that provided assistance when requested.
  3. Got it back a day earlier than expected. OMG the new engine has some stomp! The old motor must have been poorly since I purchased it... Sad to say it's gotta go
  4. 61 plate cave replace at 23000 miles. Initial problem shown as a misfire, and into the dealer 3 times before discovering cyl 1 full of oil and the plugs burnt out. Great car to drive, loved it, but nightmare reliability.
  5. Yes, it's got to go... Love driving it, but no confidence in the model anymore. Need reliabilty, I can get thrills on my motorbike, and who would have thought an Italian bike would be far more robust and reliable than what is fundametally a German car. Went in with my eyes open but hoped it would have been better than it turned out to be, performance can only go so far to cover the models shortcomings...
  6. Update: New engine being fitted as I type, pick her up Friday. Then it's gone after only 9 months of ownership.....
  7. Update - Engine stripped and cylinder 1 is full of oil, as is the cylinder head. No other damage found... Dealer says they will have an answer from SUK about replacing the engine, my response was "it's under warranty, you serviced it and did the consumption test plus breather mod, they will have to replace it under the warranty" Not happy.
  8. Yep. Typed it, read it, happy with it, posted it. Unlike others, I did not post a personal attack at anyone.... Now that would be pathetic. I stand by my opinion that the 1.2 is better suited to the Fabia than the Yeti. Driven them both so the opinion is based on experience.
  9. Please make sure you check with the Yeti Police before buying, you may not fit the profile they require. The 1.2 TSI is good and can be surprisingly spritely, but felt a little underpowered in the Yeti I test drove, more suited to the Fabia imo. I want a 170 4x4 version but sadly I have a long way to go before I can apply for the exclusive membership that is Yeti ownership.....
  10. Head over to Awesome gti in Irlam and discuss your options with them. They will help with lowering, spacers, re-alignment the works...
  11. I was looking at buying a Yeti... Please accept my apology. I'm so glad I popped over from the Fabia section beforehand. As someone who likes to improve his vehicles I could had become a social pariah, or worse still the victim of a dictator As a youngster of 47 years I'm clearly not credible material for Yeti ownership, to have even thought that I was is a sin I may need to punish myself for over a very long period... Now where did I put the cillice and lash? I could have kept this post much shorter, but, I thought that if I put "you Sir are a knob" I may upset someone. So I did the long version...
  12. I phoned Skoda assist.... Coil knackered, plug knackered, but which was first to go? Immaterial really, as they refused to change them and know it's a 'top end' strip down to identify the damage caused by the complete failure. Glad it's still in warranty
  13. First thing I've got to say is that the dealer has been great... Skoda assist called out on 22nd August due to miss fire on Motorway with EPC and engine light on, by the time they arrive the lights are out but still a slight miss fire, so into the dealership. 1 week later I pick the car up still not authorised for repair by SUK as it's not showing a code. Not impressed so raised a case Monday the 1st with SUK, and was told run the car until it happens again and the call us out again but don't turn off to soon so it has a chance to register a fault. Well it happened today 500 meters after exiting the motorway, so I ran it as instructed.... Well it ate it's plug on cylinder 2. Which at least confirmed the techs original believe of that coil being faulty as the original miss fire was on cyl 3 confirmed when he moved the coil to cylinder 2 before returning the car to me. Cyl head coming off tomorrow and could be a replacement engine... Bet they wish they'd coughed up for a coil now. Been offered £7500 for by the dealer as a trade in, not impressed for a 61plate with only 23.5k on the clock, especially as they have an 09 Octy with 65k on it for £9000.
  14. Got to admit my cave is a user, but still love the car and will be keeping it for a few years.... But what does frustrate me is the "well it's a performance engine so the stresses make it fragile". Christ, it only redlines before 8k! My 600cc ninja redlines at 16.5k, never uses a drop of oil and is in no way fragile. There are bikes of 1400cc pushing out 180+ bhp and redlining over 16k without any fear of fragility or high oil use, if they can be manufactured properly then why can't these cars be?
  15. I'd put just over 8000 miles on when I put the 10th litre in ( second owner ). Had the 20k service and breather mod done at the same time.. Dealers have been very good so far.
