  1. Thanks for the comments guys. Yes they are D1s 35w . I plan on changing the pair at the same time. The second part of my question was regarding the precautions when changing the bulbs, I've looked in the manual at the fuse layout and where it says I should find the fuses for the headlights there arent any. It shows the 2 slots where the fuses should be in the fuse box in the engine bay but they are empty. When changing these bulbs, is it necessary to disconnect the battery or can I isolate the lighting circuit by removing the fuse, if it's the later then where is the fuse? Thanks
  2. Hi one and all, I wonder if someone could give me a little help here. The offside HID on my 2011 Superb estate has gone pop and I need to replace it but I've never dealt with HID bulbs before and am a little unsure as to the way forward. I've read that it is advisable to isolate the power to the headlights before attempting to remove the bulb due to the high voltage but try as I might I cant seem to locate a fuse in either fuse box that is for the headlights, I don't really want to disconnect the battery terminal if I don't need to. Also, does anyone actually have experience of changing these bulbs, easy, difficult and any advice would be a big help. Thanks
  3. I'm Graham, I'm on my first Skoda, can still remember the rep they had back in the 70's and 80's ... all the jokes such as:- Why does a Skoda have a heated rear window... to keep your hands warm when you're pushing it. WHat do you call a soft top Skoda.... A skip... etc... etc... etc... Glad to say that I am more than pleased with my Superb. Oh and btw... my other half says my "true" age is somewhere between 12 and 16 .... she thinks she's funny lol.
  4. I'll have a look at the connections to the module to make sure they're secure, it's under the drivers seat I think. Failing that I feel a trip to the dealer coming on.
  5. That's a bit of an odd one, have you tried de-registering the S2 Virgin connection from the Columbus system, then starting the registration and pairing procedure from scratch.
  6. I'm going to try and prise my other halfs Nexus of her to test that in the car, no doubt it'll cost me lol. BTW the S4 is a great phone, had mine for 5 months and love it
  7. Something else I've noticed today, I had the phone connected this morning with the usual drops every now and again, on the return journey I didn't bother connecting it but the MFD nagged me all the way home asking me to connect the phone, didn't matter how many times I cancelled it, within 1 minute, up popped the message again. Out in the car this afternoon, didn't connect the phone and didn't get a single message asking me to connect. Could a firmware update help here?
  8. I'd be very interested in the answer to that as I've been thinking about updating my maps and firmware as the Columbus insisted I was in the middle of a field last week on my way to Ramsgate I'm pleased to hear that I wont lose my music or current maps
  9. Hello to all from sunny Kent, well it is today anyway I'm new to the site and new to Skoda, bought my Skoda Superb Elegance TDI 2.0 170ps DSG estate in December and am loving it. Am looking forward to learning much about my Superb from this site, thanks in advance for everyones contributions.
  10. Hi to all, New to the Skoda scene, just bought a 2011 Superb Elegance DSG 170 estate and very very pleased with her. Does anyone have issues with the Galaxy S4 dropping bluetooth connection with the Columbus system, I get this intermitently, sometimes it's rock solid for the entire journey, next time it'll drop every few minutes. I haven't used it as a media player yet for this very issue. Not sure whats at fault here, I can get a rock solid connection with my Ipod via bluetooth in my Superb and the S4 worked flawlessly for a week in a hired Ford Galaxy. Any thoughts?
