Tyres going bald in the middle actually means that they are under inflated, modern low profile tyres have very stiff frames. I'd go 2.7bar (converter tells me thats around 40psi) in front and 2.5bar (36psi) in rear. -
I made a mistake and bought cheap BSR intake and it made weird whistling sound and because of one piece design it had resonance trouble. It also touched the master brake cylinder and made my clutch and brake pedals vibrate under acceleration. Went back to stock intake.

So 8.5x19 ET45 in front and 9.5x19 ET45 rear would be a good fit? Is 225-35s necessary for rears, do 235-35s hit the fenders on a car with mild lowering? -
Here in Finland the timing belt change interval for 04-12 Octavia vrs is 180k km or 6 years. Just got mine changed at 120k km and 7 years.
